Here comes the bride! This week she showed more bud growth and development of additional tall trichomes. What last week were clear bulbs at the tips of these tall trichomes are now clouding up, and are at 60% cloudy, 40% clear. Many fan leaves have yellowed so these are picked off as they start drooping and yellowing. We are going to continue to monitor the trichomes for the brownish tint development and then put her into clear pure water flush for 3 days, as this is a hydro grow and faster root purge is noted in the literature for the end stage wash in preparation for harvest. Can anyone speak to the average time span from mostly cloudy trichomes to appearance of tan colored trichomes first appearance, and how long most plants take to move to mostly tan/brown trichomes? I need to gauge when to start the flush by this color change apparently, but I havenโ€™t read how many days we have from mostly cloudy trichomes before our plant becomes overripe.

If you want vertical growth do not prune, defoliate or top. Any of those training techniques are to create a bushier plant, it will slow down vertical growth. Now on another note, if your autoflower is growing very fast and you seen new leaves everyday then go ahead as it will recover very quickly. But you don't want to do any cutting to a slow growing autoflower. Check out my OG Diesel Kush autoflower diary for an example.

Week 7 coming up 2d week in flowering mode. Should I trim more lower leaves out, and perhaps some upper canopy leaves?

In my opinion, no, your plant needs every healthy green leaf she has, to make the energy she needs to grow her biggest and best flowers. Less leaves = less energy = less growth. It is that simple and basic plant biology 101. Defoliating during flowering is the absolute worst time to defoliate, but then again, I do not believe in defoliating ever, and especially not autos. Hope this helps, Organoman.

Week 7 trichomes are white/cloudy on most buds but pistils not amber, any experienced Barney Farms Pineapple Express auto growers know if many tiny blooms are normal - will they grow out more? I canโ€™t find total time to harvest either, any average harvest time known?

Youโ€™ve just basically just started flowering.. these buds will swell up most definitely. I read some of youโ€™re last weeks journals and you arenโ€™t even close to a harvest flush.. These will be putting on way more weight. Thereโ€™s are essentially what I would called preflowering.. its just the beginning. Hard to put a set date on autos like this but you are probably 3 weeks into flowering with at least 5 weeks to go, maybe more like 6-7.. those small bud sites arenโ€™t going to be massive buds when all is said and done but they should certainly grow several times over in size. Those clusters of pistils you have now will slowly begin to form into buds as the calyxes swell and grow around the stigmas/pistils week by week. Looking good so far and props on doing a hydroponic grow your first time!

What is the average time span from mostly cloudy trichomes to appearance of tan colored trichomes, and how many days do indoor grow plants take to show mostly tan/brown from mostly cloudy trichomes? Ie, when is best time to start water flush?

If youโ€™re a week and half away from harvest thatโ€™s a good tome to start flushing. Depends on the medium being used. Soil if you let the nutrients deplete then you donโ€™t really need to fhush as it has consumed all the food. Hydroponic set ups require less time for a flush because obviously itโ€™s easy to chase all the nutrients out of the water. Iโ€™m in a soilless mix of peat moss and coco and perlite. I started week seven of flower. It may have been a bit early but Iโ€™m ok with leeching it early and letting the plant consume her fan leaves. Thatโ€™s how you know the flush is working. If I were you I would start the flush. I personal would rather start it a bit early to make sure sheโ€™s flushed rather than being late on it and having buds that taste like chemicals and pop like the 4th of July. Happy harvest friend.

@Ferenc, added Advanced Nutrients Overdrive and B52 vitamins to follow your suggestion along with a lower mix of the hi nitro Grow Big this should help the bud development I hope. I appreciate the note and so I will discontinue the grow big nitro food next week, but I hope she shows signs of nearing harvest so we willl prepare to flush if the trichomes change color then. Thanks again mate!

@Soilessgreen23, Okay so she is in the flowering stage and week 4 therefore yellowing leaves especially at the bottom is totally normal as it does not get any light anyways so unwanted energy but this time is more about energy "rearranging" means she focuses on the bud development so all the enegry can be used and taken and pump into fruits. Nitrogen? Not really in veg yes she needs flowering needs more potassium and phosporus. /Yeah I knoe NI contains some but especially higher concentrate is good to goo. You better do lowering ni or not even giving more and more potassium, phosphorus, zinc so yeah actually level up the dosage of these ones. Let me know if it helps if you decide to try cheers

@Ferenc, Anything to worry about with yellowing low hanging fan leaves in week 10? Should I pump up the nitrogen levels a bit? I reduced them substantially last week due to deep green leaf curling. Any thoughts? This week the yellowing is increasing even with higher nitrogen in the mix. ๐Ÿ™
