Started fresh with a 3 x 3 x 6 tent and 2 Phlizon 600w LED's. I know cheap lights, but I had to prove something to a buddy who uses a 1000 watt metal halide turned down to 600 for his veg and 600w lps for flower. Plus I did not want the heat issues and fire risk of an indoor grow. I picked an autoflower just because I am starting out green, no pun intended. I am learning as I go by reading and following my friends advice. He has been growing indoors for a long time. So there all healthy only one small feeding at the end of week 3. Used 1/3 of the Grow Big and Big Bloom recommended by the feeding schedule. Kept an eye on them for any signs of burn,
Definitely jumped into pre-flower after week 4. Fed nutes a couple of times in between ph'd water. Flushed all 4 with Sledgehamer 2 gallons per pot at the end of week 4. Started with heavy feeding of Big Bloom, not worried about the burn from it because of its organic nature. Doubled the Grow Big and added 1 tsp of Tiger Bloom. Plants are loving the feedings and so far no signs of trouble. Waiting on the stretch to begin. No complaints on the cheap led lights. Time to start training.
This is a hearty strain and seems to be easy to grow.
Her we are 4 days short of week 7 and all 4 are doing very good. Looks like two are going to show more of there indica side and stay short and thick. The other 2 are definitely showing there sativa side. Getting taller every day now going to have to move lights up a notch. Glad I bought 2 LED panels instead of 1 - 1200w. Have to stagger the heights a little due to the 2 shorter plants. Added a little molasses to the mix, heard it was good for the soil and the plants like the carbs also. Figured it can't hurt. As you can see in the last pic I had to train the main on the first plant. Put a big dog leg in it. It stretched into my light and they are as hi as they go. Going to be interesting to see how the colas turn out. Defoliated several times and removed a few sucker limbs from the bottom. So far these plants have shown strong genetics and are very hearty no evidence of shocking them from training.
Today was ph'd water only. Plants are very water hungry. Found temp at 82 today and humidity at 68%. Opened up tent and sped up exhuast. Also relocated temp sensor to canopy. Was to close to exhaust and not sensing properly. Humidity down to 51% and holding and temp came down to 74F. Waiting 3 days to feed again have to just watch soil moisture. Very airy and dries out quickly. Hoping to start flush in another week to 10 days.
Well we are at week 8 and they look awesome. This will be my last defoliation before harvest. Now its lower temps and the right kind of love. Got one that is struggling in the back. I don't think there is anything wrong with it, just a lot farther behind the others. Then there is my super dwarf budding up nicely. It's kicking butt. Guess different phentotypes determine the grow times. They got a good feed this morning, ran nothing but ph'd water a couple of days ago through all 4. About a gallon each and let the soil drain for a couple of days. Then fed them on the morning of day 56 with a full round of nutes. Came in late this evening and noticed the flowers getting closer together on the strechers. Looking like nice colas are going to form for sure. Next feeding we drop the GB, no more nitrogen in quantity. Very pleased so far! Oh yeah got my loupe today. The trichs are starting to populate nicely too!
Day 61 started flush on dwarf. Fed all others with full dose of bloom nutes and a little molasses. They are sucking up about 1/2 gallon or more every 24hrs. Thirsty girls, thought I might be over watering them but they show no signs at all. Soil is very airy and drains well. Ran 1 gallon through each today will drain catch pans tonight then let them sit for a cpl of days.
Day 63 Everything looks good. The Dwarf is getting denser by the day. Pretty colas are forming and plumping. Other 3 are coming along nicely. Flushed with sledge hammer on day 61. Plants are frosty and starting to close the gaps between the flowers. Smell is getting stronger daily.
Day 66 Ok today I read the answers to my questions and agree with both. Patience grasshopper on the bud formation. Still early and this strain is notorious for 84 days plus. Also lack of training messed with light penetration. I can't see 2 - 600 watt led lights being inadequate for a 3x3 space. LED's are 10 watts x 60 per fixture w/uv and ir technology so I was kinda afraid to put them to close for fear of bleaching.
Now over crowded yes. Height of my lights I am still guessing at. My logs suggest 24 inches was the sweet spot. So today I lst'd the 2 larger plants to even up the canopy. Lowered lights down to around 20 inches. I started training on the large plants today to even out the canopy and also pulled others aside to let light penetrate. Any suggestions on led light heights would greatly be appreciated
Thank you @athos and @stick for your input.....
The tall colas on the other plants. Is the spacing between the flowers normal at this stage? I am just curious comparing it to the one I call Dwarf. That one is fattening up daily.
They still have a few weeks from been done, where they will bulk up. I would say 2 or 3 weeks. More training to keep a more flat canopy would help too.
Day 70 and still growing wild. The Dwarf has bulked up considerably in the last week. The others have improved since i lowered the lights a couple of inches. That being said I decided that I needed another light. So i added an additional 600W LED. Same brand as the other 2. Now I pretty much have side to side lighting. 1800 watts sounds extreme, but in reality i figure i am at a 1000 watts actual now. Light penetration has increased quite a bit. Can't wait but it looks like it going to be around the 20th if not later before harvest.
Day 74 Dwarf has cloudy trichs and a few amber mixed in.
It was a tough decision because I think it needs another week. But I need the space for my AK48. That dang thing jumped to life and needed transplanting to a 3gal airbag, so i had to make a decision.
Harvested my 1st on this evening! Nice heavy dense buds are hanging in a drying box for about the next 7 to 10 days
Three more to go yeehaw!
😀
Easy to start these autos. All 5 popped but only had room for 4. This was my very first indoor grow and it was great. This Strain is easy to grow and potent. The plants were drenched in trichomes even the stalks. Love the flavor and the buzz and it hasn't even cured yet. Fresh ground nug smells fruity but the taste is surprising. Can't wait until it cures.
Update I have had a couple of friend comment that it smells like cucumbers. The smoke is extremely smooth and the high is phenomenal. Will grow it again but next time they wont be auto flowers. I want to see how good the feminized version is.
