They germinated well! I put in 6 seeds and all of them came up.
My friend who is a commercial MM grower gave me this strain from The Seed Kompany.
These are in a SE facing window with a heat mat
Worried about a couple of these guys. These seeds came from a friend along with some Charlotte's Web. I threw 6 of the CW in and only 2 germinated but then died. All of these guys germed but 2 of the plants took a long time to shed the seed casing and their leaves aren't looking happy. Hopefully they'll pull through.
One of them is going to die, a couple are on the fence, but 3 are strong. I had used some leftover seed starting soil that wasn't the freshest in the world. Last time I ever use Jiffy seed starter. Would recommend Espoma instead.
I originally had 6 of these that germed. 2 of them weren't looking all that great, so I took the 4 strongest and put them in slightly larger pots. My largest one I managed to burn because I gave it too much Big Bloom.
They're getting there! The bigger ones are almost ready to be pinched. Short stack is a little behind the game. Update*: Pinched the tallest two last night, so hopefully they'll start filling out.
Transplanted to slightly larger pots. Taller ones got pinched, waiting on the smaller ones to catch up. They're going outside a bit on the nice days and coming in at night.
Into the 5 gallon these kids go! They are enjoying some Coast of Maine Organic Bar Harbor Blend Potting Soil. They have good support so hopefully they'll grow fast. Everyone but the smallest has been pinched. I really set that one down in the soil because the stem wasn't very strong
At the end of last week we had some torrential rain. Around Monday I noticed the new growth was turning brown and withering. It didn't effect these kids so much, but really messed with my other grow. Through the help of a friend we deduced that it was a lockout/Boron issue. Well really it was him, because I had no clue. I didn't feed this week, and everyone seems to be pushing through.
Decent growth this week. Gave them a little homemade nitrogen spray on their leaves earlier this week and they loved it. Have slug traps set out with beer in them to keep them off my plants!
These kids are doing great. There's one that I suspect to be male, but the rest look female to me. The sativa dominance seems to be loving the heat we've had lately.
Good, solid week of growth for these plants. I thought I had a male picked out last weekend but looks more female today. I've still got time...
*Saturday afternoon- I dug some holes in the raised bed that had garlic in it up until last week. I have placed these pots in that bed to slow evaporation and retain moisture. I think they'll be happier in the ground a little.
Not much growth upwards this week, they are filling out. Pretty sure the tallest one is a male, I'll know in the next week if it is. Rest look female to me. Ready for those pistils to shoot out!
Sunday Update: Decided that the largest of the 4, which was in its own pot, was male. Removed it this morning and fed it to the chickens. I had 2 females in one pot so I transplanted the smaller one to the pot previously occupied by the male. She is in a lot of shock, but showing signs of coming back after I watered her thoroughly. They also got a mulching and I was able to put up my 8' deer fence this afternoon.
So last week I killed one of the plants that looked male to me, I fed it to the chickens. I transplanted one of the girls that shared a pot with someone else to the newly vacated one, but she went through some definite stress, which is to be excpected. She may not look pretty right now but she's pulling through. I think this week the girls are switching over to the early flowering stage. No pistils, but they're ramping up!
Everyone has been moved out back. I was worried people would smell them from the road, and possibly peek in and find them. The transplant is recovering well and I feel like she'll be just fine.
We've got purple pistils this week! I've used up the last of my "Big Bloom" and "Tiger Bloom", and don't really want to order more, so I've been making a compost tea from my pile that consists of horse, sheep and chicken manure. They seem to be liking it just fine, and I gave them a little nitrogen foliar spray this morning.
Good week for the girls. Even though the transplant still looks a bit crappy, she is flowering and seems healthy enough. All plants got a bit of Lime this week and I released some ladybugs yesterday to control the aphid population.
These girls are coming along well. It's starting to get colder around here at night. I've been putting some research into this plants genetics. It's ACDC x Ron Jeremy OG. Pretty much everyone knows ACDC, but Ron Jeremy OG was a strain I had never heard of. But a little digging and I found that Ron Jeremy OG is Alaskan Thunder Fuck x Kosher Kush. So there is definitely some medical value for this strain!
These girls are filling out nicely. Maybe another 2 weeks? I just gave them their first dose of molasses a couple days ago. Didn't know about it before or else I would have fed it sooner!
These plants have a beautiful citrus aroma. I've been doing research into terpenes and looked up the profiles of parent plants. It was easy to find a terpene profile for ACDC, but had to look around for profiles on ATF and Kosher Kush because there was no test data avaliable for Ron Jeremy OG. From looking at those profiles, this plant is going to be most dominant in Pinene and Limonene. Smaller percentages of Terpinolene , Caryophyllene and Linalool will be detectable. Based on the information I have, it's looking like this strain will be good for pain, depression, stress and inflammation.
One more week for these ladies. No more nutes from now on. Just flush and maybe a little molasses. They smell wonderful, a nice bouquet of pinene and limonene, perhaps a hint of caryophyllene? We'll see... It's getting very cold around here at night. We've almost had frost a couple times now.
Displayed 2 phenotypes. 2 were leggier more sativa dominant and 1 bushy. One of the more sativa plants had transplant shock and never fully recovered but did put out flower. Will most likely use that one for topicals.
The healthy sativa dominant one put out the pink pistils that I adored. But the bushier plant was also thicc (and I mean it with 2 c's) and had beautiful dark green leaves. Will add more info later. I didn't do the best trimming job on these girls because I was pressed for time but I will give them a more polished trim once they are dried. These ladies didn't exactly have it easy either.
I was thinking of letting them go a couple more days, but it's been so cold at night (These girls have been through a couple frosts) and we were getting so much wind their leaves were damaged and some were curling up. Had temps been more favorable I think these ladies would have been even chunkier. But this was my first year and it was all a learning experience. Bigger pots next year, better husbandry and who knows what could happen! :)
All dried, trimmed and stored in mason jars with Boveda 62% humidity packs.
