Just started germinating a Fastbuds Stardawg auto. Have a group that are finishing up in my 4x4 tent so figured I get a head start on another. Trying to figuring out timing for a perpetual auto grow, still in a bit of an experimenting phase.
Trying airpots for the first time, will be using the 2.4 gallon they claim is a “3 gallon equivalent” will will see!
The 1 seed germinated using paper towel method. 48 hrs later and I have a 1.5cm tap root, planted into a 2.4 Gal. air pot w/ humidity dome. Medium is 80% FF Happy Frog soil and 20% perlite.
Medium was pre-soaked with PH’d water including only Voodoo Juice.
Used paper towel method for germination, grew 1.5cm taproot within 36 hrs. Planted, then sprouted after another 48 hrs.
Medium is 80% FF happy frog soil, and 20% perlite. Using airpots for the first time, the 3 gallon “equivalent” (one with the yellow base), so we’ll see how they compare to the regular fabric pots I’m used to!
This is part of my experiment, finding ideal conditions for a perpetual grow. I have flowering plants in the tent, so humidity will be lower than I would normally like at this stage, will be using a humidity dome for at least a few more days.
Will not be watering at all during week 1, only foilar spray for leaves and topsoil.
She’s still just getting her root system built up, although I expect to see some real veg growth this week.
For now I’m sticking with just voodoo juice and PH’d tap water. Still watering very light, about 200ml every 3-4 days with spraying in between.
Week 3 and things are going right along as they should, no real issues to speak of. Have been slowly increasing water volume, now up to 500 ml every 3-4 days. Will be really ramping up watering over the next 1-2 weeks. Will think about introducing nutrients soon, but so far she seems to be thriving so I’ll play it by ear.
On day 19 I’m noticing some nice healthy pre-flowers! Have to imagine flowering is going to start in the next week or so, along with a nice stretch.
It’s now week 4, she’s throwing some serious pistils, but doesn’t seem to be in full flowering mode quite yet.
Starting a very light nutrient feeding schedule. She seems to not need too much right now, I’m going to see how it goes.
Her side branches are growing up nice, I normally wouldn’t defoliate so early, but 2 of the fans were pushing down side branches, so I did clip those off. (Day 24).
On day 26 I had to snip 2 more fans that were pressing down on side branches. The side branches really are shooting up on this one. Normally I’d just try to tuck the leaves in, but there’s so much inner growth, there really wasn’t room.
Looks like she’s entering that early flower stretch. It’s a compact plant for sure, but still expecting it to get quite a bit taller.
Right at the beginning of the week I watered 1.5L, for my next watering I’m planning on doing 2L which is where I think it’ll stay.
This is one of the best stages, seeing lots of day to day growth!
Still in the early flower stretch! Have done some more light defoliation just to keep good airflow, and let bud-sites get as much light as possible.
Increasing nutes slightly as she seems to be handling the current amounts just fine.
The larger side branches, I tied down just slightly, to train them to grow out more, again to promote airflow as well as get light to some of the inner bud-sites.

On day 40 I’m noticing continued signs of light calcium deficiency. Going to add a light dose of cal-mag into the regular feeding schedule going forward.
Now I’m the 3rd week of flowering. A little disappointed in the over height of this plant. Was hoping it would stretch more. But she seems to be her final height/ shape. Had suspected this may be the case since early on, she grew very short and dense. Either way, excited to see this one through to the end!
Really seeing some frost build up, and bud sites starting to show their true shapes. Should be a good week!
Now on week 8, and buds are starting to really form their shape, also starting to give off an aroma of pine and citrus. A bit ahead of what I expected, so this one may be a quick finisher, time will tell.
Unfortunately, on day 53 I found a few herm sacs, but opted to just pinch them off instead of cutting the branches. I’ll be keeping a close eye to make sure I got them all.
I like the level of nutes I’m at right now, trying to keep it on the lighter side this round, so will keep steady with these levels for now.
Not much to say at this point, she’s going strong and just fattening up buds now.
At this pace, I’m anticipating 3-4 more weeks but we’ll see how it goes!
She’s getting toward the end here, just have to let the buds mature for another 2-3 weeks and it should be ready for chop!
Had a minor issue with mold last week, ended up having to cut off a very small piece of a bud from a lower branch, everything else is unscathed luckily!
Will be introducing AN Overdrive this week, and will remove Big Bud by the end of the week.
It’s now week 11 and we’re nearing the end here. Just letting some final weight pack on, as the trichomes are within the window for harvest, and close to my preference of 10-15% amber.
Will do one final feeding this week, will do a single flush later in the week or beginning of next week before harvest.
————————————————————————
On day 76 I gave her the last watering, 3 L of plain water with only Flawless Finish added. Will now wait for it to completely dry out before harvesting, maybe another 5 days!
We’re at the final week! Plan on chopping around day 81, or whenever the pot feels fully dried out. Plan on letting it spend the final night in the dark to ramp up trichome density.
Not expecting a large yield at all, as this one stayed quite compact.
This one grew very small, although that was partially my fault. Buds have a very nice lemon/ pine scent.
Will update on quality of smoke after a 4-5 week Cure!
So this one grew very small. This is largely due to the fact that right as she was stretching, I upgraded to a much stronger light and didn’t compensate for that extra light. Something to always keep in mind!
The grow overall went well, found just a bit of mold early in flower, but no issues after that once it was cut out. This one has a nice lemon and pine scent that I’m hoping carries over to the final taste.
Good luck with your grow I hope you get the best taste of buds and healthy plants! Take care and stay lit! I will drop by sometimes to check on your process! Say hello if you ever visit my page!
Greetings from L.S.T 🙏🏼🌟
@Kitties_and_Colas, Much appreciated! Wish I could give a definitive answer, but this is my first time using the air-pots. So far, they seem right on par with fabric pots, but we’ll see!
