First time running Gas Reaper genetics, have heard very good things. I was drawn to mint macaron because I’m a huge fan of Mac 1, and this seems like an interesting cross.
Have heard Gas Reaper seeds may be tricky to germinate, and they recommend scaring or clipping the seeds. I used nail clippers to snip just a tiny piece of the seed off, let them soak for a few hours, then into the paper towel.
After about 6 days, it’s clear my second seed won’t germinate. The pack I bought came with an extra seed so I’m not too bummed, just happens sometimes.
Excited to get this one going!
I germinated 2 seeds and only 1 popped, not a big deal, just means I’ll fill that tent space with something else soon.
For this run of Mint Macaron auto, I’m using the #3 size airpots (2.4 gal) with FF 80% Happy Frog soil, and 20% perlite. I pre-soaked the medium before planting the germinated seed with ph’d water and voodoo juice.
Only took about 36 hrs for her to break soil after that. I’m not planning on watering for at least several days to a week, only a light spray 1-2 times per day or so.
Beginning of week 2 and the root system is still getting going, expect some more visible growth this week.
Have now been watering increasingly larger amounts every 2-3 days. Started around 200ml, in circles making sure to leave a 1-2” diameter of dryness at the stem. Now up to about 400ml.
By day 12 I’m noticing a slight deficiency. I believe it’s a magnesium issue but it looks a little odd, usually don’t see yellow stripes. Planning on adding some cal-mag during my next watering at the beginning of next week.
Coming along nicely at the beginning of week 3. Have added 1 ml/L of cal mag and the new growth is looking great!
At this point I’m watering about 600ml and will be working my way up to a full Liter by the end of the week.
Expecting to see a decent amount of vegetative growth this week!
Seeing the progression of a magnesium deficiency, I’ve added cal-mag with the last watering so it should catch up soon. Will play it by ear, and maybe continue to add cal-mag during waterings.

All new growth looking good now! Older damaged leaves look really ugly but I’m going to leave them on until a few more fans grow up top.
On day 20 I’m noticing some nice healthy pre-flowers, flowering only about 1-2 weeks away!
Magnesium issues from last week are finally all cleared up. She is really starting to stretch, I’m expecting some good growth this upcoming week.
Seeing very good inter-node spacing, which is always something I like! Watering has increased to 1 L and will slowly increase to about 2 L over the next 2 weeks.
Will also be starting a light nutrient schedule this week, starting with the next watering.
Beginning of week 5 and I’m loving the way this one is going so far. This seems to be the week flowering is starting, though I’m expecting it stretch a bit more still.
Watering 1.5L every 3-4 days now, would usually start to increase to 2L, but I’m getting a decent Amount of run-off. I’ll continue with 1.5L until I notice less run-off.
Leaving nutes around where they for the beginning of the week, as I start to see more formed bud sites, I’ll start to introduce Big Bud.
Beginning of week 6 and she is going strong! Slightly upping the dose of nutes and adding Big Bud this week. Still only watering at 1.5L because I’m getting plenty of run-off.
This one slowed down stretching due to a new light that I mistakenly set too bright. While I expect a little more growth in height it will probably settle around where it is now.
It’s now the beginning of week 7, and this one is chugging along. Having a bit of a calcium issue, which I realized was due to incorrect PH. A reminder to always make sure your PH pen is calibrated!!!
Issues should be sorted out soon though, and she’ll continue to pack on weight.
Looking forward to a good week of bulking up!
It’s now week 8, and this is the most impressive auto-flower I’ve grown so far. The bud structure is just perfect, and seems to be bulking faster than I’m used to. Wouldn’t be surprised if she’s a fast finisher.
Watering volume is still at 1.5 L and I think this may be the peak, so I will stick to it for now.
It’s now week 9, and this plant continues to amaze me. Emphasizing just a how big a part genetics plays in quality crops.
The frost on this plant insane, even compared to other photo-period strains.
Excited to see this one develop, and at this rate she may be finished in a few weeks, maybe sooner!
We’re now on week 10 and nearing the end. Will be keeping a close eye on trichomes, but anticipate I’ll chop in 1 1/2-2 weeks.
Still would like to see buds bulk up a bit more, but everything overall is great. The buds are large and spaced well.
It’s giving off a nice creamy lemon type odor, it’s very very appealing.
Excited to get this one finished up!
Getting really close to the end here. The harvest window is open, but I’d still like to see some of the hairs curl in a bit more and see more amber trichomes. Will probably harvest some time next week.
Will continue feeding as normal, and will do a single flush as her last watering at some point later in the week.

Week 12. Harvest
Happy Harvest Day!
Gas Reaper Genetics - Mint Macaron - Custom Breeder & Strain
Harvested on day 80.
This one was fun to grow, very easy and resistant to some humidity fluctuations I had during flower.
Really enjoy the lemony gas smell it puts off in late flower, hoping that carries over to the final taste.
She put put some nice pink hues in the last week before harvest!
