This is my 3rd run with this critical kush cut and I really like her. Super sticky buds with a scent that reminds me of root cellar, overripe fruit and gas. The pheno has pretty weak stems that will bend under the weight of the buds.
This particular plant started out as a weak looking clone that I put into a 1,5l pot 5 weeks ago; since then I've repotted to 3,5l. The training started a few weeks back: I topped a couple of times and did some hst branch bending etc. Usually I just top once and stick to lst, but this time I wanted to see what comes out of a more aggressive approach. Follow my grow to find out!
In general this plant is growing nicely and I'm looking forward to repotting it up to the final 17l pots soon. Already got my recycled and reamended soil waiting (premix, ewc & dolomite)! I'm gonna veg for another 5 weeks more, so there will be plenty time for the plant to root out :)
Another week gone by and my girl is growing nicely. She's now in her final pot and seems to like it. Since the compost is well amended and this plant doesn't like a heavy feed, I will only give her water for the next 4 weeks.
Will continue to shape canopy with lst and defoliation. Branching remains quite nice and I hope most of the smaller branches develop enough to go into flower. This is one of my favourite cultivars and I'm sure it will not disappoint :))
Week 7 gone by and this girl is getting prettier by the day. She's starting to drink a bit more and is branching out beautifully!
I have trained the bigger branches pretty level in an attempt to get the smaller ones to grow straight up into the light. With only 3 weeks of veg left I can only hope they'll get strong enough to hold the weight of the buds in flower. If not I will run into trouble as I cannot run a trellis.
My girl is coming along nicely and looks happy. I keep shaping the canopy and it looks like most of the branches could make it to flowering. Still two weeks to veg, it think she's gonna be a big one!
Also my timer broke, so the light is on 24h now. Was anyway gonna take out the timer for my autos so no stress..
All is well with this girl and she is growing with a steady phase. I keep defoliating to expose more and more tops to light.
Next week I'm gonna give her a bit more extensive prune and start with the flower nutes :)
Happy growing!
Last week of veg in the bag and this beauty took her place in the flowering side. She'll be having her first long sleep tomorrow night.
This week I started on the nutes and will be upping the amount until week 4.
Also gave her a good prune earlier this week. I tried to remove all branches not big enough to push through the canopy. Basically this mean all but the last 4-5 nodes. The canopy is still quite packed and I will continue to defoliate also until week 4.
Happy growing ya'll!
This girl was definitely ready to flower: she picked up immediately and is happily drinking up more and more! She's growing so quickly I have some trouble keeping the canopy level. I kinda hope she will grow into a cup shape on her own.. let's see.
Slight variegation on some growing leaves, but this is expected as I'm feeding her well :)
I hope you had a great week. Happy growing!
Everything is going well and she is growing as expected. A very thirsty girl she is, I have a feeling she might get quite fat in the end. Just the way I like it :)
I still try to keep the canopy level and defoliate a bit every other day.
Week 3 of flowering is down and my girl is just shining. She's pretty much done with stretching now and the budsites have started to develop.
The canopy is pretty well leveled if I may say so myself and I've kept defoliating to keep air flow and light penetration good. I will still defoliate when needed, but in much smaller scale.
Furthermore, I may have gone a bit heavy on the nutes in the past weeks, so this week I took the dosage down a little. To remedy the slight toxicity I'm only feeding her every second watering. Also since it's end of flowering week 3, as per custom, I start giving a dose of calmag once a week.
Thanks for checking up my grow, I wish you a great week! :)
So another week gone by and this girl continues to shine. The slight over fertilizing from previous weeks doesn't seem to bother her aside from slight burnt leaf tip. I will continue to feed every other watering.
As you can see the canopy is pretty level and there's another good looking layer of buds just beneath. I keep defoliating slightly to get some more light for all those pretty buds :))
This grow is progressing very well and my girl is giving off a strong smell already. Like in previous runs, in the beginning there is a noticable fruity sweetness in the scent with some musky undertones that'll get stronger when the plant matures. Also plenty of trichomes forming in an increasing pace and I'll avoid touching the buds from here on!
Furthermore, I've put up some stakes to support the bigger branches. Branches are not yet bending due to bud weight, but the stakes help me keep shape more even.
She's looking gorgeous! The buds have started to swell and some branches are already bending under the bud weight. Will need to start thinking about support real soon..
This week I also added a dose of Atami Bloombastic. I've never used any boosters before, but my growmie recommended the stuff so I'm giving it a try. Hopefully it will make the buds a bit more heavier :)
The buds have now started to swell in an increasing phase. The buds are pretty heavy already and I've now put a stake in the middle and tied some of the weaker branches to it.
I've also started to remove the fan leaves little at a time. This makes the trimming a bit easier and hopefully signals the plant to concentrate everything into the buds :)
Three more weeks to go before the chop! Thanks for checking my diary out and have a great day!
What a beautiful girl she is, getting thicker by the day. The smell is nice and strong, like overripe fruit, earth and cleaning agent. Very lovely with still two more weeks to go..
Final week has begun and my girl is looking gorgeous. The green is slightly fading from the leaves even tho I haven't touched the feed yet, just dropped the bloombastic. Now I'll lower the doses and then give plain water for the last watering.
The smell is very strong now. Difficult to describe, but the scent is sweet, pungent and a bit foul. First time I smelled this strain I thought the bud had gone bad. Yet somehow it grew on me and now it is the smell of great relaxation.
As this grow approaches its end, I must say I am yet again pleased with this pheno. So far she's responded well to everything I've done and seems like it's gonna be a great yield. Stay tuned for the final photos next week!
Aaand this grow is just about done. I've cut the plant down just a minute ago and the buds are now drying.
The last week went without problems. She was drinking significantly less in the past two weeks and her colour had been fading by the day. The buds were heavy and all over the place with branches bending in every direction. What a beautiful plant! I took about 2g worth of samples at 9 weeks and after drying for a few days they had a nice developed aroma and a pleasant relaxing high. Just like I remembered this strain.
I will update once the harvest is dry and in jars!
Just for comparison, I've added a harvest photo from my previous run with this phenotype. Both plants received all the same care, except I topped and manipulated this current plant much more. What a difference, just see for yourself!
Great indica strain for winding down and chilling. Not particularily a day time strain, but (with strong enough tolerance) it will get you through the day 😅
Vapor quality is top notch even in the low temps (180C). Very thick and pungent vapor that tickles in your throat/nose. Effects not immediate, but creep in after about 5 mins.
What a beautiful strain! This pheno came to me from a 3 pack and has got some strong OG Kush resemblence: long and weak branches, light green leaves in flower, thick buds with little leaves and a strong smell of lemon, earth and cleaner. Skunky flavours from critical mass are not noticable. Very nice palette indeed.
A pretty straight forward grow: I already knew the cultivar and was able to give her just about what she needed at each point of the grow. The end result is a plentiful harverst of very aesthetically and psychoactively pleasing cannabis buds.
Hey! Happy growing my friend! I hope you do well and get some good results! I will come by sometime to see your progress! Keep on growing!
