"Whitey" (The White)

Hello. I was starting seeds for my next diary. I got some OG Kush free from Sensible Seeds with my order. They rotted in their shell😞 So then I thought I'd start the Honey Banana by Elemental Seeds and I struggled to get 1 seedling up😟 So I still wanted some new plants to try, so I went to the seed vault and dug out a breeder that I have grown in the past and 2 strains were alright and 2 were pretty good. So I thought I'll try them and see what I get. The strain is called- The White -by Dr. Greenthumb- www.drgreenthumb.com It got a good review from another grow site I checked out. Doing research I found that this strain is also called Triangle OG or Larry OG so I'm expecting good things to grow out of this. Indica Dom- 70% Yield- High Height- med/tall 9 to 10 weeks Unknown cross THC + or - 25% Flavor- Hashy, dank pine Effect- Very strong. Excellent, full body effects Oder- Not to strong in veg or flowering Very strong resin encrusted buds that look white at harvest. Tree style growth I started all 11 seeds I said to myself with my luck in seeds lately I might get a couple of seeds come up. But I got 6 seedlings come up. I sure had to sweet talk the last one out. I bought this strain about 4 years ago so 6 getting seedlings is doing pretty good. So I'll go with this. Chuck.

Hello... Did you know about the world wide perlite shortage? I bought some perlite at the grow store and payed 4 times the same amount. So I made the choice to use expanded clay pellets and fill the air spaces around the pellets with perlite and vermiculite. This will allow me to reuse the clay pellets and to use 15 % of the perlite vermiculite that I was using. On the bag of pellets it said the the PH will go high so put the pellets in a container and fill with water and adjust the PH. I jumped over this phase and filled the pots and transplanted thinking I'll be able to adjust the PH in the reservoir. I ran the system and adjusted the ph and didn't check it for about a day and a half. When I did check the PH it was over 7. I lowered it to 5.6 and ran the system for about 5 minutes and the PH jumped up to 6.1 The ph spiking has slowed down now. I adjust it down once a day again. I've included some pictures of what the PH imbalance looked like. Each plant had a little different reaction. Good thing I'm aware and experienced enough to caught it before it got much worse. The plants are doing well and I'm thinking of topping the taller ones. I've shown you the dark corner with all the grow equipment. Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. I splurged and bought new equipment. I got 2 TS600 Mars-Hydro lights for my cloning/seedling cupboard to replace the 3 florescent lights I've been cloning with for about 24 years. I would replace the florescent lights about every 18 months or so. The Mars-Hydro lights seems to be running about the same temp as the fluorescents did but are much brighter. I also bought 2 5'x5' tents with 2 Spider Farms 4000 lights, a 2'x4' cloning/seedling tent with 2 Mars-Hydro TS600 lights and 2 Mars-Hydro FC 4800 to replace my 430 watt HID lights in the main grow room. I can use the HID's in the greenhouse to keep it warmer in the spring and fall. I did some trimming and topping this week. I'm waiting for the plants to heal and then I'll turn the lights to flowering. Some of the plants are showing that they are still feeling the clay pellets PH imbalance. They have the yellow edges. Hello. It's been a good growing week. I took some clones of each plant and have switched to flowering. I like to use 12.5 hours on and 11.5 hours off. I like to warm up the grow room and root zone and leaves for 1/2 hour before the first feeding/watering. A few plant are still affected by the ph mistake a couple of weeks ago. You can tell them by the yellow edges on the leaves. I got most of the grow stuff I ordered seen in the pictures. 5 Mars lights, 3 600 and 2 FC 4800 with the uv feature that I can use to help calm my psoriasis. I'll sit in the grow room bare skin exposed for a couple of minutes a day to help with it. Winter is always worst for psoriasis because of the weakening if the sun's uv. My psoriasis is light compared to some peoples. I also got 2 Spider Farms lights to compare to the Mars. I got the light meter so I can take readings before I take out the HID's and replace them with the Mars FC 4800 with dimming. Hello. This is the end of week 1 and the beginning of week 2. I'm very disappointed. I chose OA Seeds to do my yearly ordering. I ordered in the end of July and they got my money Sept 2 and I have been getting the runaround since. In a email I said just one more week, then I want a tracking number or else I'll complain to every seed rep on this site. We shall see. The Plants are growing well. Even though I've got new LED lights I'll finish off this strain with these HID lights. I'm used to using them and I don't want to drop heavy lights on the plants. They got dimmer switches so I won't burn the plants. I can't wait to use them. Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 2 and the beginning of week 3. The plant are kicking in to flowering, and developing their bud sites, as you can see in the pictures. Plant #6 started life slow and it's still small. I've had to put it up on a small bucket to get it up into the light. The rest of the plants are doing good and have gotten over the ph problem I had at the start of veg with the clay pellets. I had to tie some of the plants back from getting burnt by the lights. Plant #4 I'll have to super crop because it's already grown above the light hood with the stretch. I'll get in there this week and do my last major trimming/pruning. Then the plants will go straight into flowering after they get over their LST stress. This FloraMax pamphlet came with my Grow Daddy .com shipment. It is an advertisement for their product but it has a lot of good advice that I agree with. I'll post a few pages with each weeks comment. I was cleaning up in the basement where I'm putting in 2 new grow tents and I came across these old pictures. They were taken in 1981 in Edmonton-black and white, and in 1982 in Victoria-color. We had just scored a 1/2 oz. and Johnny is rolling up a joint of the land race cannabis (Man, I wish I could have all the seeds now that we throw away back then) This smuggled in Mexican is 1/2 dried and then compressed in to bricks as you can see by the quality of the pot on the table. The color pictures were taken in Victoria. Again we had just scored and I pulled out the biggest bud of the bag. It was a smuggled in, land race Afghani and was strong for back then, it says on the back of the picture. Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 3 and the beginning of week 4. I went in the main grow room and did some fan leaf stripping (defoliation) and some bottom branches trimming (LST) and some super cropping where some of the tops have grown above the hood. I also trim the inside of the plant for better air flow around the leaves. After all it's powder mildew season around here. Speaking of PM I'm seeing it in the green house where I'm doing my second run of the Mega Mouth. Just a few speckles on a couple of leaves (that I've removed) so I'll be cutting that down this week. I managed to get 1 flush in because I was going to cut it down on Oct 30. I'll post a few pics of that next week. Did some seed ordering from Sensible Seeds and got 3 Anesia strains: Nova OG, UMME and True Gold OG. and some regular seeds from Old School Gen - Widow Road so I can work on my strain and cross with all the strains in my stable. I'm disappointed with OA seeds as they gave yet another excuse why they couldn't send my seeds. PLEASE DON"T ORDER FROM THEM!!! The plants are doing good and growing tall and are just about to kick in the resin production this week. As usual I'm hoping for something strong. I got a pamphlet when I ordered some grow equipment. Hello. This is the end of week 4 and the beginning of week 5. Wow! It's been a good week of growth. The plant are sure drinking alot of food this week. Indicia's do that about this time in flowering. I took some 1/4 inch doweling and tied cord around the ends and tied the plants back out of the light so they don't fry. The resin production has kicked in. Some of the plant are looking frosty already. As usual I'm hoping for some strong smoke to come out of these girls. Seeds are supposed to arrive today according to my email. and the address is from Spain. Have my seeds finally been sent by OA Seeds? And I thought I was getting ripped off by them. It's been 3 whole months. I've been asking about every week or two where are my seeds and I was always getting the run around something about we don't have those seeds so you will have to pick something different or wee have a problem with seed delivery so you will have to pick something else or taking days to respond to my email responses. I'm expecting the seeds to be old and that they won't sprout. So I'll start some straight away to see. I forgot what I ordered and I had to go back and look at the email receipt and remember but who knows what I'll get? Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. this is the end of week 5 and the beginning of week 6. The resin production has kicked in. The plants are really drinking a lot of food this week which is normal for a indica. I had to add 10 gallons of extra nutrient solution this week. -I won the Best Bouquet Contest that ended last week and I won a 25 seed pack of Crop King Seeds. They haven't contacted me yet. -I thought I was going to get ripped of from OA Seeds in Spain, but their seeds came this week 2 days after my Sensible Seeds order got here. OA Seeds order "hassle" went on for more than 3 months so I ordered from Sensible Seeds which took about 3 weeks to get here. So I've got over 100 seeds to go through for the next 2 years. And I want to work on my own strain with the regular seeds I got. Sound like a lot of work. -The day I won the contest the seeds that I had ordered from OA Seeds arrived and later that day I went a big box store to get some supplies for my 2 new grow tents. I got to the check out and the last thing to go through was 2 dehumidifiers which I had to pay for first and then go pick them up at customer service by the warehouse. I put my stuff in my truck and went back for the dehumidifiers. It was 7 pm and there was 2 young girls at customer service and she took about 5 minutes to get my things. She asked to see my recite and handed it back quickly. After I was home awhile I looked at the recite and there was no dehumidifiers on it. I even said to the check out girl when I saw that the price was a little lower than it should have been. I asked, have you put the dehumidifiers on the recite. She said Oh Yes. So I tried to pay twice ??? and then walked out with 2 new free dehumidifiers. What a day I won $240. worth of seeds, got my OA Seeds, and got 2 free dehumidifiers. Glad I didn't get caught but I thought I had payed, until I got home. My wife said don't feel bad you tried to pay twice. -The water mixers in the pictures. I used to be a garbageman and I found a mixer that still worked. I brought it home and cut it up and adapted it to my needs. I needed to cut the plastic away from the shaft and glue a piece to hold the turning shaft in place. It worked great for about 18 years but recently it started to have a burnt plastic smell when I ran it and lube didn't help. So I saw the new one for under $20. and it only needed to have the plastic tip cut off and to bend the cutting blade into a propeller. Works great but I miss the speed control that I had on the first one. I mix my solution in 5 gallon water bottles, so the mixer can mix the solution in just a few seconds. It also dissipates chlorine in the water the more oxygen you mix with it. So you can take water straight from the tap and in a few minutes you can blast 90% of the chlorine out of it with the mixer. If water has been sitting for more than 24 hours most of the oxygen has dissipated out of it. The mixer can oversaturate the water with oxygen in just a few minutes. The mixer is a very well used piece of equipment that I've used for years. I'm sorry to see the old one go. Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 6 and the beginning of week 7. By the look of the resin production, these buds could be Whiteys in another 3 weeks. I'm seeing some fungus gnats around and you might see some leaf edges bitten by them in the pictures. I actually look for the plant they bite the most. It always turns out to be the strongest and best tasting plant. I have learnt to use and respect their opinion. I think they like plant #1. The plants are all doing well and I'm having no problems at the present. When this crop is done, I've got 2 Mars Hydro FC-4800 ready to replace the 2- 430 watt HID lights I been using for a long time. I'll probably have to do more plant training but I'm also expecting lower electrical usage. We shall see. My seeds arrived from winning the Crop King sponsored Best Bouquet Contest where we were supposed to have picked out our own seeds but as it turns out Crop King has decided for us. I'm disappointed that they didn't do what they said they would and that there should be some truth and honor amongst breeders and growers, don't you think. Like the breeders putting the highest THC% on the package when very few of us growers get a seed that has that much THC in it. What would be much more honest is to have to average tested THC rating on the package with a 5% + or - beside it. I had my eyes set on some regular seeds and I would have saved them money because regular seeds cost less. I got Blue Cookies 20% THC, 2nd place got Black Indica 13% THC and 2.5 CBD and he's a sativa guy and 3rd place got Gelato, 27% THC. Looks like 3rd place gets the best seeds.😉 Till next week Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8. It's been a quite grow week. Nothing big to report. I didn't get as much done on the 2 new grow tents this week as I wanted. Life got in the way. I bought 2 - 1 foot x 4 foot flood trays for one of the tents from Botanicare. I went to the lumber yard to get wood to make 2 tables for the trays. Wow, wood is not cheap. Cut the wood and made 2 tables 14 inches x 48 inches. I figure if I need to get into the tent I can easily move the trays and tables to one side. This week is supposed to be rainy so I'll work inside on the ventilation. I start flushing next week. Yes I still like to flush. I get a better end product if I flush now. For the first week, the ppm levels out to about 1000 and the second week the ppm levels off around 650. I also add 1 ounce of Hydrogen Peroxide to 5 gallons of flush water. I top up the water and add more HP every 3 days. I find the HP slows the living soil so the plant struggles more to get the nutrients it did when the friendly fungus was helping the plant to get food. I find I get more color in the leaves when I use HP even when it's hot in here. Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 8 and the beginning of week 9. Flushing has begun. I use 1 oz. of 29% Hydrogen Peroxide to 5 gallons of water. Not much new this week. I stored my apples in my small greenhouse and the rats got in through the weak wooden part. Spent a day cleaning and fixing that. We had heavy rains and some of the gutters overflowed. So I spent a 1/2 a day cleaning and fixing that. Man, life keeps getting in the way of living the perfect dream😄 These plant are doing great. Plant #1 has the biggest buds, Plant #2 looks frostiest and has heavy buds, Plant #3 has small buds but frosty, Plant #4 is the tallest and med sized buds, Plants #5 and #6 look about the same and have good sized buds. I did a touch and smell test and it was quite sticky and has fruity undertones but the ammonia (cat pee) smell was strong. Plants #1 and #2 had the strongest pee smell. And the smell lasted about 1/2 hour on my fingers. I hope these are the way I like them, Strong! Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. this is the end of week 9 and the beginning of week 10. I'll be harvesting in the middle of next week after a couple of days of dark. It was hard to take pictures this week. All the buds are falling over except for the taller plants that I've tied up. I don't see much color change with this strain. Just yellow leaves. Everything is going good. The plants sure went through a lot of water this week. I's been cold and wet this week I've had to turn up the heater a bit. In the pictures of the tester/taster plant #2 and plant #5 sure look frosty eh! Don't have a lot to report this week Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 10 and the beginning of the end --- of the flowering cycle. On to a couple of days of dark now and then harvest. Not much to report today. Just wanted to put up some pre harvest pictures. I've smoked the testers/tasters and to my surprise the frostiest bud didn't get me the highest. Plants #3 and #4 were strongest in my opinion and plant #5 had some kick to it too. Because I have room with 2 new tents I will regrow plants #1, #3, #4 and #5 and get rid of the rest. Hello. I still have to come back and tell about the dry weight in a few days. This is a good indica strain. I only had one plant that had root problems and I think that was my fault. The strongest plant had a good buzz that made it hard to decide what to do next. Not quite a couch lock but strong. 4 of the plants were about the same height and bud style and 1 was bigger and 1 was smaller 4 plants had large, white, dense buds and 2 had medium, white, dense buds. I added 400 g to each plant total weight for the fan leaves. stock and trim. I weighed the fan leaves, stock and trim from plant #4 after think I'm cutting myself short when I reported the whole plants weight in the outcome section in past harvests. I need a scale that I can hang untrimmed branches on before I wet trim them up. I don't like to cut the whole plant down and have the buds banging into each other because I grow for the resin and I don't want to throw any of it away just to weigh the plant. I try to extra careful in the process to not knock off any resin crystals. I know it happens but I try to be careful. Plant #1 Had the biggest buds and got me the most stoned. This is the plant I'll be regrowing. Wet trim - 690 g Dried Bud - 114 g It had mostly slippery resin Hints of fruit and berries but mostly tastes of sweet ammonia (cat pee) I don't mind. That's mostly what we had when I first started smoking. Has a good Afghani type of indica buzz to it. Plant #2 This plant got me the least stoned. But was the most frosty. My wife liked it said it had a nice happy buzz to it. Gave her the whole plant (dried and in jars of course). Wet trim - 799 g Dried Bud - 131 g Mostly slippery resin This one really tastes of ammonia (cat pee) Plant #3 Smallest plant and small buds Wet trim - 420 g Dried Bud - 59.5 g Resin was mostly slippery Tasted like good Afghani hash. Had a buzz similar to Plant #1 Plant #4 Tallest plant Wet trim - 753 g Dried Bud - 116 g Resin was mostly slippery Tasted of sweet potting soil. When trimming it smelled like ozone or electrical smell. The stone was not the strongest or the weakest. Plant #5 Was the other plant I thought about regrowing Wet trim - 665 g Dried Bud - 91 g Dense big buds. Tasted a cross of Afghani hash, potting soil and cat pee. The buzz just wasn't quite as strong as plant #1 Plant #6 Wet trim - 585 g Dried Bud - 82 g Mostly slippery resin Pleasant taste of sweet Afghani hash and ammonia (cat pee) The buzz was almost as good as plant #1 but produced less. So Plant #1 will be carried on but plants #3 and #5 were just about as good. Plants #2, #4 and #6 were the weakest and have disappeared (if you know what I mean) I think that it.
