Honey Bananas

Hello. I started 6 seeds from Elemental Seeds, but only one grew so I'll do a diary about it. Honey Bananas Indica Dom Height- Med 8 to 9 weeks flowering Yield- High Honey Boo x Strawberry Bananas Smell- Fruity sweet. Taste- An Interesting flavor with notes of bananas and sweet summer fruits Effect- A powerful stimulating effect on the body and mind. Sounds great. We will see in the next few months if it's as good as the description. Chuck.

Hello. >I went and visited my friend to see his clones, that I gave him. I gave him 2 Amnesia Lemon, 1 Purple Paralysis and 1 Mega Mouth Mango. He doesn't know how to grow very well and had cut back on the plant food already. I said that he probably was on week 4 (by the way the flowers and stigmas looked) and that he still had about 4 or 5 weeks to go. He went and got his tomato food 20/20/20 and gave them a big drink/feeding. Hopefully he will get something good to smoke out of them. >I switched to expanded clay pellets because of the world wide perlite shortage. The PH went high because of the pellets so please be aware of that it you use them. The PH is back to normal now. >I made some clones of the Mega Mouth Mango that I grew in the greenhouse this summer and am regrowing them in the same spots to see what the mold resistance will be. I've also brought out 2 Purple Paralysis and 1 Pink Kush to also see. So far so good, there's no powder mildew on any plant in the greenhouse even though I've got it in my garden 20 feet away. Hello. I bought some new lights and put them in my cloning/seedling cupboard. They are Mars-Hydro TS-600 and they run about the same temp as the 3 fluorescents I had in there for about 24 years. I also bought- 2 5'x5' Living Room tents with 2 Spider Farms SF-4000 lights, a 2'x4' tent for more seedlings/clones with 2 more Mars-hydro TS-600 lights and 2 Mars-Hydro FC-4800 lights to replace the 2 430 watt HID lights in the main grow room. The fun is just starting. The plant is doing good. I did some trimming and topping this week. I'm waiting for the plants to heal for a few days and then I'll switch over to flowering. With the rub test I don't find a lot if smell or much feeling of the resin. I hope it will get stronger. Thanks for looking in on me. Chuck.

Hello. This plant is getting bushy. I'll have to take off some more fan leaves. slowly over the next couple of weeks so I don't put the plant into shock instead of into flowering. I had a ph mishap about 2 weeks ago and this plant was unaffected by it. I don't think this plant is very strong because, when I do the rub test I don't get any smell or feeling of resin on my fingers. But other strains have surprised me before. I got most of the grow equipment I sent away for. Just waiting for 2- 5x5 Living Room grow tents to be delivered. This will give me a month long project for the beginning of winter. Hello. I'm very disappointed. I did my yearly ordering to OA Seeds at the end of July and they got their money on Sept 2 and they have been giving me the runaround since. When I ask where my order is they send me back a message that they are working on it and you will but have to wait to get this strain in next week. Or we can't get this so you will email us back when you decide what you want. Then I don't hear from them in a week and it starts again. I said I would complain to every seed rep on this site that is on their sales list. I don't think it will do much good but we'll see. The plant is doing well. It's spewing out lots of fan leaves. Hello. This is the end of week 2 and the beginning of week 3. The plant is growing great and is making alot of leaves which I'll prune/trim this week. I like to wait a couple of week after going to 12/12 to do my final trimming. The plants get all mess up if you take of too much to soon. It will take a couple of days for the plants to get over their shock, but then they will go right into full flowering mode with the resin kicking in about a week after that. I got a pamphlet with my growdaddy.com shipment that I want to share with you. It has a lot of good grow advice that I agree with in it. I'll post a few pages each week. Just zoom in to read. I found some old pictures when I was cleaning up where my 2 new grow tents are going. The black and white shots were taken in Edmonton in 1981. We had just scored a 1/2 oz. of smuggled in, land race Mexican. The cannabis was 1/2 dried and then compressed into bricks and then left in the sun the fully dry. Some times we found mold in it but we couldn't return it. The quality was poor back then but it got us stoned. I wish I had all the seeds that I had thrown away back then, now. The color pictures were taken in Victoria in 1982 and the bud was a strong Afghani according to the writing on the back.. I pulled the biggest bud out of the bag to photograph it. The Export A rolling papers were rumored to have asbestos in it to make it burn slower back then.😕 Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 3 and the beginning of week 4. I did some LST and Defoliation this week for better air flow and better light penetration for bigger buds. The plant has to shift its photosynthesis from the big fan leaves (that I've just cut off) to the smaller leaves that come out around the developing buds. Thus the stress in Light Stress Training. The light stress will make more resin in the end. I did some ordering from Sensible Seeds and got 3 Anesia strains - Nova OG, UMME, and True Gold OG. I also got some regular seeds from Old School Gen. Widow Road so I can work on my strain this coming year. Hope I find a good male I like. I look for in the male is, the feeling of resin and a good smell when I do the rub test and shorter is better than taller except when you grow sativa's, then you want taller.. You can test the strength by smoking the small leaves near the flowering sites. I also look for a male with the biggest and largest amount of flowers. All these traits will be passed on to the female when the plant sex happens. I very disappointed with OA Seeds. They have given me yet another reason why they can't send my seeds. PLEASE DON"T ORDER FROM OA SEEDS! I even looked them up on seedfinder.eu and they got a good grade before I ordered. Since I ordered they have gotten some bad reviews. I don't know if I will ever see some seeds out of them. Very Disappointed. I got this pamphlet with my Grow Daddy order. There is some simple, good advice in it so I want to share it with you. Hello. This is the end of week 4 and the beginning of week 5. I see the resin production has kicked in. The plant is drinking alot of food this week. There is a lot of small branches on this plant. I've pruned off a lot off the bottom and I'll have to prune off a few more to get some good air flow and light around the top of the plant. I'll pick a few branches every 3 or 4 days so I don't put the plant into shock and mess up the flowering. My email says I'm to get a package today. I checked the sending address and to my surprise it's from Spain. That's the OA Seeds order that I been waiting for 3 months for. What a hassle dealing with this seed company was. They sent email's saying that they didn't have these seeds so I would have to order other seeds about the same price. They did that several times and then said they are having problems getting seeds from England. I sent a email every week or two asking where my seeds are and nicely harass them. I hope they aren't old seeds and they actually sprout. Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 5 and the beginning of week 6, and I grow to 10. >This is a strange plant. It doesn't seem to have much smell or resin when I do the bud squeeze and rub my fingers together and smell them. It's producing flowers and I can see resin glands with the jeweler's loop. I was thinking maybe it's a CBD rich plant instead. I don't know how to tell If it is. I've always looked for the body stone to tell how much CBD is in a plant. Hmm, something to think about or maybe look up. The plant is growing well and there is no problems with it. It was the only seed out of 6 to sprout. This plant might get a low review. Oh well, all you can do, is all you can do. >It been a different week. I thought I was getting ripped off by OA Seeds that I had ordered from at the end of July. So about 3 weeks ago I ordered from Sensible Seeds and that order came this week but so did the OA Seeds order. You can see by the pictures I've got over 100 seeds to get through in the next couple of years. At least I know what I'm going to grow now :) I had a strange day I'll tell you about. Friday morning I log in to find I had won the Best Bouquet contest. Wahoo I just won $240 worth of seeds. 1- 25 seed pack of my choose. I did a dump run because I'm making room for 2 new 5x5 grow tents and had to get rid of a old water bed. Later, when I got back, I got my OA Seeds order that I thought I was getting ripped off by. After we looked at them for a while I went to one of those big box stores to get things I needed for my new grow tents. I went to the check out and told the girl after we had rung in everything in my cart, that I had to pay for 2 dehumidifiers and then pick them up at customer service. She smiled and punched in some buttons and said I could pay now. So I went to use my debit card and the price was lower that I had estimated. I said again did you put those dehumidifiers on my recite? She said yes, so I proceeded to pay. I put my stuff in the truck and took my cart back to get the dehumidifiers. There was 2 young woman there and she took my cart and was gone for about 5 minutes getting the dehumidifiers out of the warehouse. She asked to see my recite and handed it back to me quickly. After I was home awhile, I wanted to check something else on the recite, just to find that I got 2 free dehumidifiers. My wife said don't feel too bad you tried to pay twice. What a day. >When I was at the big box store I saw my new water mixer. I just had to cut off the tip of plastic that protects the blade. I got it for under $20. can. and I will be retiring my old one. I was a garbage man at one time and about 18 years ago I found a mixer and brought it home to find it didn't fit into the 5 gallon plastic bottles that I mix my nutrient solution in. So I cut it up and glued it back together. It's been having a burnt plastic smell when I use it now and lube doesn't help. I just needed to bend the end into a propeller. Works great. It will oversaturate the water with oxygen that has been sitting for more that 24 hours in a few minutes. The more oxygen that is mixed into the water dissipates the chlorine in the water. So I can use tap water right away (after mixing) instead of waiting 24 hours for the chlorine to dissipate. It mixes solution in just a few seconds. I will miss the speed control I had on the old one but I'm liking the new one. Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 6 and the beginning of week 7. This plant has a faint smell now. When I do the bud squeeze test I get a smell of a cross of Bananas and Papayas. And by the pictures I can see some resin production but my fingers aren't sticky or slippery when I press them together. I'm sure these seed were breed with some good plants, there can be throw backs if they aren't tested well. I sure if they worked with their crosses a bit more they would get less plants like this. I looked on the breeders page for this breeder I couldn't find them. It's looking like I won't be buying any more seeds from them. Man has it ever rained for the last 2 days. I took a jack hammer 20 years ago and lowered my reservoir a few feet through the floor. It now sits on the bedrock and only has water 1 or 2 days a year in it when its flooding out there. So this week the plants got fresh, ground filtered, rain water in the reservoir with their nutrient solution. The rain water had a higher ph than tap water by about .5% My seeds arrived today from my winning of the Best Bouquet Contest sponsored by Crop King Seeds. The contest said a 25 pack with 3 winners and North America only and we will be able to pick our own seeds. Not to be. They decided for us and sent me: Blue Cookies 20% THC 2nd place got Black Indica 13% THC and 2.5% CBD and he's a sativa guy, 3rd place got Gelato 27% THC. Looks like 3rd place got the best seeds.😶 Yes I'm disappointed I didn't get to pick my own seeds, but I got some free seeds for doing something I like to do anyways. I got 2 new grow tents and lights. So last week I was working on the electrical and this week I'll be working on the ventilation. I have to go out the window and up the side of the chimney. So I had some extra stickers for Mars Hydro lights. Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8. It's been a quite grow week. I have some fungus gnats that have come inside to escape the cold and rain. Next week I flush with Hydrogen Peroxide in the water and that usually get rid of them. That's 1 ounce of 29% HP to 5 gallons of flush water. This is a low performance plant. I've seen others like it from cheep seeds. Reminds me of Willie Jack Seeds. You might get a good one but you also get some crap plants. If there is not a lot of time put into breeding out the bad traits before you go to sell them then you get plants like this. Very little smell, not very big buds, very little resin production. and very leafy. Everything that should have been bred out. I'll finish off this diary, but don't expect a good review. It's fall around here so I need to find some time this week to get some leaves that my neibours rake out on the curb so the city vacuum truck can come along and suck them up. I have a lot of Humming Birds around here year round. I put out 2 feeders. One in the front and one in the back so 1 male can't control both feeders. And I have planted a lot of plants, bushes and small trees to keep them with nectar. So I get a lot of free mulch (leaves) to go under all my plants before they are sucked away. On my security cameras we watch the racoons come almost every night to turn the leaves for grubs and worms. Summer is the best, this year the female racoon had 4 pups and they all came around to turn the leaves for food. It's mostly all soil now that the bugs have eaten the leaves. For every 4 inches of leaf mulch I put down, I get 1/2 inch of top soil once the bugs are through. I also put out the carbon pellets from the filter around the bushes and shrubs too. Plants use the carbon once it breaks down. Till next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 8 and the beginning of week 9. Flushing has started. I add 1 oz. of 29% Hydrogen Peroxide to 5 gallons of water. Which I refresh every 3 days. All I can do is report on the only seed that sprouted out of 6 that I started. I hope they weren't all this bad. I can see a bit of resin on the plant but I can't feel it on my fingers. I can sort of smell the bananas and sweet summer fruits that the Elemental Seeds description said it would have. The buds are small. Overall this is a poor plant and maybe a poor stain, I can't tell from 1 shity seed. See Ya. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 9 and the beginning of week 10. I'll be harvesting in the middle of next week after a couple of days of dark. I took some tester/taster buds off to dry last week so I can get a feel of what the plant has to offer. I see they are dry so I'll get my wife to test it. She doesn't smoke anything near what I smoke and she likes the less strong stuff I grow. So she will be able to tell me about the weak stone I'm expecting from this plant. I see the lower buds that I didn't tie up are starting to bend down. The buds have a bit of bulk to them. But not much resin or smell. Till then. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 10 and a few days of dark before harvest. Just wanted to show a few pictures before I cut her down. I asked my wife to try the taster/tester lower buds I cut off and dried last week. I asked her to try it because I can see it has almost no resin crystals and she smokes less than me and might be able to feel the weak stuff. She said "I tried it and waited a 1/2 hour before going and smoking some of my regular stuff to give me a buzz".😏 Chuck.

Hello. This plant was a disappointment. With the smell that smells of laundry detergent 😝 Very fresh and flowery and sweet and smelly I couldn't take it. Although the whole plant weighted 1120 g The buds were loose and there was not much resin. These traits should have been breed out if this was a good breeder. I can only judge this breeder from the 1 seed that sprouted from the 6 I started. I saved some buds to finish and photograph for this diary, but I through the whole plant away. Says it all. Chuck.
