GrowCNanswered grow question 3 years ago If you planted too deep you can very carefully scrape away some of the soil so the seed is closer to the surface. If you go digging for your seed be VERY careful. The tap root will emerge first and will go quite deep before it starts pushing the seed up. If you bump the seed too hard you will break it off the tap root and it's dead.
I soak my seeds in water for 24-36 hours then I plant them in soil. My fastest seed had a sprout above ground about 72 hours after it touched water. 4 or 5 days after the seed got wet to sprout above ground is my average. I start to get nervous if I don't see a sprout in 7 days. If I don't see anything after 10 days I will gently dig to find the seed and see how it's doing.
