Whilst the plant doesn't look unhealthy- the growth is really slow. Any ideas? It's been 20 days from potting now. Is my Phone at 7-8 to high and having a massive affect? I'm using Coco coir.

It seems quite small for 20 days in. The last 10 days, it's been growing, but not much. Is my Ph too high and temperature too low?

Ph at 7 is too high. Aim for 6.2 in veg in coco coir and 6.5 in flower. She looks like she has a nitrogen deficiency starting and that'll be a ph lockout. Day air temp could creep up a bit to 80f or a little higher if you have good air movement (night is fine). Humidity at 41% is very low so think about trying to up that with wet towels / humidifier. What you have not told us is substrate temp or solution temp. These need to be 72-74 as lower will cool the roots and slow growth. Just a few tweaks and she'll be fine.

I have white spots on my leaves 8 ball leaves.. I also have a wonder woman growing which is going yellow at the tips. I'm struggling to keep the pH down, is this it? Should I just water every day to keep it down? I'm worried about over watering.

Weird leaves problems? If your pH is out of range, then it's most definitely the cause of it. Why are you having so much trouble keeping the pH down? either use a pH down solution or apple vinegar if you are into more organic nutes. Also 0,5 liters seem a like too much for a plant that size, try 0,3 liter, that should last it 5 to 7 days.

Morning, So at first glance my instant thought was light burn, as I had a plant display a similar white/yellow spotting. If your ph is 6.5 there's nothing wrong with that for soil growing, it can go up to 6.8 and still be safe. You dont seem to be giving a surplus of nutrients to burn the plant with. But you are using HID which is very powerful and hot. All your stats look good, my one possible suggestion is raise the light to 24inches and lower your hours to 18. Also plants thrive on having a wet period and a dry period, the dry encourages the plant and its roots to seek out water, aka more growth longer roots etc. I wouldn't water excessively if I were you, it wont solve any ph problem that I know of. Best of luck, plants are truly resilient, I dont doubt she'll be ok, just needs some adjustments. ✌️🌱

Right now u have major ph and overwatering issues plus calmag #1 u need voodoo juice are a good root booster let her dry out a few days get a ph meter and a ppm meter its like having a gun with no bulletsπŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€” get fox farm big bloom this will fix your plant and its organic u should have mixed perlite with your lite mix all these problems is caused by your roots if u get your roots right this plant will turn around in a week your ph should be at 5.6 5.9 she is very stressed give her wat she needs she will shake back πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ»

Thanks so much for the help guys! Amazing community here :) I've never even thought about solution temperature- so I'll check that. I'll put a damp towel in and decrease the pH. I'll aim for 6.2-6.5. I've just bought some pH down, I assume thats the simplest for the job? As for watering schedule, have you a rough volume of water to be feeding? I read you re water when the top inch is dry and water til it starts to run out the bottom. Is this correct? Thanks again!

@Saryis, I always water with ~20% of the container's size. With 5L pots, 1L water will be fine. You should water less but more often. This should give you a very little drain. Do it when the top of the substrate looks dry.

ph needs to be around 6 . it will help trying to raise humidity also but dosnt look too bad should see a difference with correct ph

@Saryis, I have a shower then leave the wet towel hanging in the tent. During the day, I spray the hanging towel rather than the tent walls as my water is hard and it leaves white stains on the tent wall (thus lowering reflectivity a little). A cheap dehumidifier is the way to go though - another 'gadget' on the list of must haves for a grower (I suffer with too much humidity rather than too little where I live). A propagator dome is another way of raising humidity - you could probably fashion one out of cling-film and some sticks!

@Saryis, if you put a tray of water in your tent and let a fan blow over it that should help to bring up the humidity a bit, spraying the sides can be a ball ache as you will need to do it quite often.. if it's of any help.. I recently picked up a 5l ram humidifier of eBay for about Β£30-Β£35 for my 1.2x12.x2m tent and it works a treat

@Saryis,yeah simple spray bottle spray sides of tent or some people wet a blanket and put that in

It could be the lights. I just started week 4 of an 8BK grow with a fan and heatsink cooled 300-watt-equivalent LED setup in a 2x2x5 Secret Jardin DS60, have a 189 CFM fan with a rheostat set all the way to minimum that provides more than enough air flow. Have two plants packed in the tent and even being 2 feet away from the LEDs was too much. I took them off the upside down buckets I had them sitting on top of, and now they are 3.5 feet away from the light which seems great! I'm sure they will be able to handle more light once they grow that high naturally. I also find that 8BK likes temps more down around high 60s / low 70s with lower amounts of humidity! (I have an air conditioner running all day that keeps the room around 69, and I find that the environment inside stays around 71 because of the small amount of heat generated by the LEDs, then I turn on a heater at night, which isn't even kicking on at the moment, to keep it from dropping below 68. Remember, it has lineage that comes from the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan, and does fantastic with colder temps and lower humidity than normal, and a little more distance from the light. One of my plants is a weird phenotype, it's growing extremely asymmetrically and "has some personality". The other one is gorgeous and perfectly symmetrical. I'd post a pic to show ya since we're growing the same strain, but there's no option to do that! Anyway, they are pretty stoic plants. If you're sure your pH is fine, I'd get them away from the light and keep them from going above 75 or below 65. (My humidity is pretty low during the day, around 40% because of the air conditioning - but then at night it bumps up to around 60%). Wish I had known about this site before I started this grow, I would've logged it all on here! Also, buy some CaliMagic... put half a teaspoon in a gallon of distilled water, shake it around, and water with that next time. 8BK always seems SUPER hungry for calcium, magnesium, and iron. I don't know why but my 8BK plants need that way more often than the standard NPK fertilizer.

Here I just started a diary for mine, today is either the final day of week 3 or the first day of week 4 depending on how you want to look at it, so I've posted for week 3 as up to the end of week 3. Will post week 4 at the end of this upcoming week. growdiaries.com/diaries/36546-8-ball-kush (Edit: I just realized I'm posting these comments like a year after this person's grow.. oops!)

@Saryis Hi there! Indeed, she looks small, but she also looks very wet! I think over-watering + basic pH (too high) led to this situation, the plant cannot absorb any nutrients. In coco, it's all about the feeding schedule, since the substrate does not contain anything, the growth relies on your ability to feed correctly. Now as an emergency move, I'd try to give her a good meal (when the coco is dry) with RootJuice+BioGrow, pH 6.2, and see how she reacts. You may want to stop spraying anything onto her, let the roots search for water and nutrients, spraying is good for nutrients lockout or extreme dryness, in your scenario it's not helping. I'll be around, keep us up-to-date so we can help you adjusting your parameters, and happy growing! πŸ‘Š

@kindbuds sorry to be a pain mate but if what I said is incorrect due to the point you made about calcium then how is it taken up in hydro? I'm not trying to start a debate I am just curious as I have been reading into coco to make the switch from soil and what I said about ph is advice from cannauk
