This week was a busy one, this is my third grow overall and my first time birthing auto flower babies!
Where do I even begin!? Honestly, this grow began a few days ago when I received my Mars Hydro 4x4 grow tent. Prior to, I was growing out of a 3x3 closet I am very excited for the equipment upgrade. With the tent all setup, exhaust installed, the environment dialed in, all that was left was to germinate the seeds. For me the best way I’ve been able to germinate my seeds is to mix about 200ppm of nutrients and soak a rock wool cube in the mixture and plant the seed into the cube. Fingers crossed 🤞
I probably checked my grow room 100 times. I was super excited to see when/ if these little ladies were gonna break on through to the other side. THEY DID! Super pumped about it! Now I am hesitant to call this veg week 1 because I like for them to get a set of true leaves growing in before I’m confident to put a title on these babies. But my journal skills are lacking and I don’t know how to add another germination day to my diary. So we’re just gonna roll with it.
From here I will continue to maintain a high humidity of above 70% and slowly increase light intensity with a convenient turn dial on my light. Once a set of leaves comes in I’ll slowly begin to lower the humidity and grow light. Stay tuned :)
This was a slow week, I’m still trying to keep the environment tuned in to stimulate root growth while these little fellas decided it was time for them to develop a set of leaves. Each OG is growing at a different rate, making it clear that even with solid genetics the phenotypes can vary. I’m going to slowly start pushing to encourage veg/ nutrient uptake this week once their leaves come in fuller by reducing the humidity and slowly lowering the grow light some more. The roots haven’t grown out of the bottom of the net pots yet but hopefully in due time I can snap some cute root candids for everyone and these girls can get some yummy vitamin water* (Nutrient water*)
A few days into week 3 now and all is well. Growth took off with one of the Kushies, while the other 2 plants are slowly catching up. Almost 3 sets of true leaves, and about an inch apart in size between the smaller plants and the biggest one. Did a reservoir change and introduced bacteria to the root zone. Just going to be watching how these girls grow for this week then start thinking about topping/ Low Stress Training going into the following weeks.
Hey everyone! First off I just want to apologize for my lack of discipline keeping up with my grow diary, so if you’re viewing this it might seem confusing so let me explain. Obvi, the vegetation stage was kinda uneventful, I just kept feeding and the girls kept growing, followed by some LST training. I began to notice preflowers at about week 5 and started feeding bloom nutrients. Advanced nutrients has a bit of nitrogen in the bloom nutrients so I didn’t bother doing a half veg/half bloom mix. I also have the environment dialed to a humidity that fluctuates between 55-60% atm I’ll be lowering the humidity in weeks to come. One of my girls had a PH problem early on and I consulted a magic 8-ball on wether or not I should’ve put her out of her misery. Fortunately we kept her, but she has some silly root growth out of the sides because I didn’t bury the rock wool deep enough into the hydroton. But honestly all is well, I also began a sour diesel Fem which I’ll he starting a diary on soon. So stay tuned :D
Hey hey 👋 this week the girls are starting to get funky so I’ve had to find creative ways to manage the smell but honestly I don’t think anything works as well as a simple carbon filter. Went from having my house stink, to just outside the grow tent. The girls have gotten big, so much that I’m starting to worry about my light height 😬 I didn’t expect the ladies to double in size in week! But no bother im gonna just play around with the dimmer switch a bit. Trichome production is ramping up too, and some of the flowers are beginning to take shape to buds! It’s all patience from here!
Oh yyyeeaaah! Buds are starting to stack more and more each day, I’m starting to get that harvest high as I get closer to the end of flower. The girls are frosting up nice and one of the OG Kushies is getting fat. I’m gonna start lowering the PPM in the weeks moving forward, and just stay vigilant of light toxicity, yeah I did a poor LST job on one the girls :/ but other than that all is well did a lot of defoliating this week and one of the girls drank up it’s entire reservoir. Crazy stuff!
Awwh today is day! It’s flush time, I was honestly debating wether or not to even flush but it’s only for a few days so what can it hurt!? I would’ve loved to get these girls going for another week or 2 but I’m going away for the holiday and won’t be around to watch over them. The nugs are getting frostier, some appearing amber and a few cloudy/clear mix. Ethos said about 80 days from seed to harvest this took about 90 days. A little over but no complaints. The girls are also popping color, lots of dark purple. If I’m going to make a note about this strain it would be to go heavier on the cal/mag throughout flower. But you grow and you learn am I right? Excited to get these up to dry and see how they smoke.
Was okay to grow, I had a tough time with her. Needs calmag! Energetic high that fades away nicely. A bit spacey, which I love makes everything feel “nostalgic”. Beautiful smell, like a good none skunky weed smell.
-BREIF SYNOPSIS-
Harvested the first week of the harvest window, would’ve definitely benefited from another week or 2 of flower but time just wasn’t with me. Og Kush Autoflower rBx grew quickly in the DWC and stretched more than I had anticipated, I got careless and Ph shocked the plants early on and almost abandoned ship but growing these was an experiment for me from the start so I decided to press on. 3 plants turned into 2 so I could better focus and manage how fast these girls were growing. This plant was a challenge for me, and if you ever decide to grow this strain load up on the cal mag throughout all of flower.
-THE BUDS-
she got frosty and had stunning plum leaves and elegant oranges. Hints of lemon and Earth followed by a touch of gas on the nose. Fluffy and resinous. It is truly a delight to roll into a cigarello.
-THE HIGH- (Pre-Cure)
(harvested at the beginning of the harvest window)
Starts in the head, makes my eyes feel heavy. Followed by a wave of energy. A bit dreamy/spacey, then calmly floats away by the time the next joint is being rolled.
I will give my final post cure thoughts in a few weeks.
{POST CURE}
Smell really opens up with a few weeks to cure. High is exceptionally enjoyable! Grow this strain you won't regret it! Just listen to her cues.
Hey! Happy growing my friend! I hope you do well and get some good results! I will come by sometime to see your progress!
If you ever visit my page please say hello!
