Gelatoman Welcome to my new growdiarie. Just delete my older diaries. This time a Royal Queen Seed: Fat Banana Automatic in a hydroponic system with my Mars Hydro TS1000.
The start:
Used an wet coffee filter. Seed was allready popping after 40 hours. (Water: regular tapwater) - no photo
I put the seed in a rockwool cube and placed it in my seedling tray with a little bit of water (ph 5.8) for a good humidity! The water didn’t contain any additives. The EC of my water is 0,5.
After 2 days i lowered my light so the seedling receive about 150 par/umol. She was stretching too much. To check the par i use an app: Photone.
Next post will be her first week in my hydroponic setup.

Gelatoman 🌱 First week in the DWC bucket (20ltr) with an airpump (200l/h). Just an easy start with Plagron hydro A+B and some funghi to help the start of the roots. Next week i will ad a vita race to the feeding schedule.
First days she received about 127 lumen, now about 170 lumen. I want a short autoflower for this tent. And she was stretching too much in her first days of rockwool.
Her big leaves an thin stam are not the best combination.. so i helpt by adding a piece of electrowire. 🤞🏻

This week i gave her a little more nutrients. Ph still on 6.0.
Her thin stam needed some support. The first week i helped her a bit with some electro wire. After 8/9 days i lowerd the wire and she did an amazing job.
Next week more nutrients and hopfully more nodes so i can top her once.

Gelatoman 🌱 3th week: stresstime!
This week is a stress week, first Low stress training for 2 days. After that topping (high stress). My goal is to achieve 4-6 flowers on the same height.
After that i wil lst each branch.
With high stress training i give her a little bit more feeding 1ml a and b a liter.
The first signs of a calcium defficensy are visible. Maby i add some calmag from biobizz next week.
My light was only giving 250 umol, i set the mars hydro ts on 75% to reach 500 umol. I hope this will give her a kick for growth.

Gelatoman Week 4 🌱
Cal/mag needed and a bigger air pump.. so i fixed it and trained the plant to becom wider and shorter. So al the little stems can grow.
I added a pump that delivers more air (300l/h) and raised the lamp a little bit higer so the plant want to stretch more.
For the calmag i raised my ph for next week to 6.3.

Hi Growers,
Last week my plant was hanging and show me a deficiency, i think it was a Calcium/Magnesium problem?! I also put the light a little bit higher because i thought she had a too much light problem too. Now the tips (leaf points) still pointing up, any grow tips ?

Hi there Gelatoman, i have to disagree with my colleagues here : it's absolutely not temperature or light stress. This is a pH and root zone problem ! you can see this because of the discoloration "splotches" and the wrinkled leafs as well as the tips and curling serrated edges of the leafs. In hydro you need NPK + micro + additives. Now you have NPK+ micro. so you need additives to fix the root zone and help with breaking down the nutrients. TRy to use something like humic or fluvic acid or something biological like "great white" for hydro. What's happening is that there are bad microbes and mold affecting the root zone. After you fix this with additives you should also consider "root pruning" technique, that when you lift the plant outside the pot and actually cut the problem roots (never more than 15% of the total root mass!) with a scissor ... this sounds crazy, but this is the "right way" for hydro. I hope this helps ! 🚀

Gelatoman First signs of flower!
This little fat banana had a hard time, I corrected her issues by giving more air p/liter last week. Hanging the lamp a little bit higher and give her a big feeding. And cleaned her resevoir and adding some mycorrhiza.
She done a amazing job. This week i trained her to become wider but shorter and checking all the growth and nodes. Next week i will give her a good trim by defoliation and hang a bigger air fan in her little tent.
