A few weeks before they went to the big tent for flowering. This smaller tent has a 600w, with 108 actual output, led. Along with 3 24w 2ft led strips. They grew into the lights and I ran out of room while waiting. Did a lot of just cutting the tops off to make room. They are flowering now and don't seem stressed at all.

I am flowering them in 1 gallon pots of mostly coco coir. Watering them with nutrients twice a day with a little over a liter for each plant. Totalling about 2.5 liters a day each. Lights are not yet at 100% power. Day 13 since the flip to 12 12 lighting. Day 1 of flower nutrients.

I am experimenting with flowering in 1 gallon plastic containers. Coco coir as the Medium. Feeding twice a day min. So far the plants are looking great for 2 weeks into flowering using this method. My last grow was in 7 gallon fabric pots. Rootball was no bigger than 1 gallon.

In a soilless grow with multiple feedings, you should reduce the differences that a pot causes, but maybe not completely. I bet you see familiar trends, just reduced impact. Rootball is not only concern.. that's a big rootball, btw. The fibrous threads it sends out are doing most the work. with good irrigation techniques, should be fine hairs throughout substrate and not bunch up near top unless it's simply overgrown a bit for pot... nowehere else to go etc... Because you are feeding 2x a day, it'll have access to more nutes per 24 hours than a normal small pot would have, otherwise. It can keep up with production of larger plant in this context than otherwise. So, should see a reduced impact. at some point, a larger pot will still allow for more root mass. whether you hit that ceiling given size of current pots and length of time in them, who knows...

Flowers coming in quickly and beautiful. Water needs are getting more and more work. 3 times a day is my goal. 1.2 liters if nutrient water a day. But the 1 gallon puts don't seem to have stopped or changed the formation of large dense flowers. A auto watering system or hydroponics will be my next adventure to help ease the work involved.

Getting close to harvest. They are smelling like tart berries. It's ineffable to describe.

I experimented with flowering in one gallon pots of coco and perlite. I see a lot of spring tails show up when i water. I have never seen this in my grows, I clean my grow area before a new grow. I used fresh coco and perlite. Where did they come from? how do i prevent this?

I have asked myself that question a few times in the past. All I can come up with is overwatering/watering to frequently. I have noticed they don't seem to do much damage.

So close to being done. I'm going to holds out for another few days. Trichomes are still mostly cloudy. I want a more sleep assistant and pain reliever effects. The purple is really starting to show. I fertigate or water them 2 to 3 times a day. I have been using a Kleanse formula from Cyco Platinum nutrients in the middle of the day. Feed in the morning and right before lights off. EC in is close to the same as the EC of the runoff. pH of run off is right around 6. Smells incredible, so much more floral smelling than the last grow. I would say it is because of the biocanna bioboost supplement. I didn't use that one as much they last grow. It's expensive, but I think it's worth it. It's basically fermented molasses.

I have to pick the perfect time to harvest. I believe tomorrow if the trichome gods smile upon me. They are rapidly maturing, I want the most ripe they can be of course. While still having a good amount of THC instead of the degradation of THC into cbn (I think it's cbn that is responsible for the Amber trichomes). Oh goodness me. This is the worst/beat part. Haha. The purple has really showed up quickly it's beautiful.i know or doesn't effect potency. In a way. I don't think purple color does any good besides visual appeal. I've read it could lower potency actually. I've also read it doesn't make a difference. I had a thought about flushing. I don't flush my tomatoes outside in soil before I harvest. So long as I am using organic fertilizer. Would I even need to flush? Definitely not if it's live soil. But had me wondering about that concept. Thanks for reading. Any feedback would be appreciated. Lay it on me. I'm here to learn.

This is the day before harvesting I think. Couldn't be more proud. Learned a lot. Excited for my next grow. I will update the harvest week category with more pictures. These are from the night before. I think...

This was an experiment to see what happens if, when using my Coco coir and perlite mix, one gallon containers can produce a good harvest. I would say yes absolutely. The only con is the amount of times they needed feeding was 2 to 3 times a day, by hand. That became tedious and hard to remember to do everyday. So yes container size isn't as important as I thought it was. I would not recommend using 1 gallon containers for flowering. The roots were all that was in the container. As root bound as I have ever seen. But also my best harvest as far as size and smell of the buds go.
