Clones cut on 24 September are being transplanted from solo cups into 1 gallon nursery bags, topped, and put into tent shortly. Soil will be mixed with organic nutrients and amendments for veg as follows: 3 Gal - sunshine mix 4 1 Gal - pure life soil Worm Castings 1 Gal - perlite 1 Cup - Gaia Green all purpose (4-4-4) 1/3 cup - Gaia Green Gypsum Lights will be run @ 20% until plants are well established. Water will be ph'd @ 6.5 Grow log will be updated once the tent is cleared out of last run, should be 2-4 days. Currently waiting for banana bomb sativa pheno (didn't know that it existed.. I had 2× heavy indica plants, 2x 50/50 looking plants, and a single sativa looking pheno grow out from my 5 seed pack) also waiting on a home bred tangie cookies x gorilla bomb to finish up, took longer than either parent strain to finish.

Nursery store had a much needed restock. Grabbed a bale of Promix HP, will be used for transplant to 3 Gallon before flower. Also grabbed Myco, and kelp. Mixed soil up at following ratios: 3 gallon sunshine mix 4 1 Gallon perlite 1 Gallon worm castings 1 Cup gaia green all purpose 1/3 Cup gypsum 2/3 Cup kelp meal 4 tbsp Myco Filled bags half way, added a tbsp of myco to that point, gave a light watering with humic, fulvic, blackstrap molasses, cal mag and ph'd to 6.0 (sunshine mix has dolomite lime and this bale I noticed has slightly high (7.5 ph)) to kick start soil. Transplanted the clones, topped bags with soil mix, and watered plants with remainder of prepped water. Edit: Will top mid week once they adjust to new environment.

Interesting week.. good news, bad news Bad first: Seems like the sunshine mix bale I got this time is even higher ph than the last bale I bought (8.0), this is the last time I use it thankfully since local nursery was able to restock promix HP. Combine that with the fact I did not pre cook my soil and it was a recipe for disaster I guess. I managed to get away with no issues mixing soil and transplanting same day last time, not so much on this run. Zkittles seemed to be the hardest hit, ph locked out and started by showing zinc deficiency (I think its was zinc, super shitty growth and very narrow leaf blades, interveinal yellowing on new growth) right away I figured it was ph since they were perfectly fine with the soil in the solo cups they should have been able to feed just fine on the nutrients left in that soil. And I did not give them a whole lot of water, they dried back out in 2.5 days so it was likely not overwatering causing deficiencies. Now the good news: Using what I figured out I hit them with 5.9-6.0 ph watering to try to bring soil ph down slightly (I know there are better ways to drop soil ph, and I may still try them if plants dont recover nicely.) I also reduced light intensity to 10% It seems like it worked, and everything was able to turn around, it appears they are beginning to recover now. Will give them another couple days of recovery and top them at that point. *Update* Majority of plants topped on 29th Strawberry diesel showing deficiencies on old growth, should be solved now, observing to see if damage continues to spread. Bubblegum has one plant stunted and deficient. Plant doesn't appear to be uptaking water, I shut off the valve for her on the 27th waiting until she decides to drink up what she's got. LAOG seem to have recovered, almost look like they regained some green in their leaves. Zkittles appeared to be having normal growth again before I topped. Hopefully the soil issue is resolved for now. Will see how well the plants recover and see if we get healthy new growth.

New growth seems to be healthy, deficiencies look like they have stopped spreading. Noticed a few fungus gnats flying around near the stunted bubblegum, threw some sticky papers down, most appear to be getting stuck near that plant. BTI dunks arrive tomorrow, will crush one and throw it in water and use for next watering to attempt to eliminate the gnat issue. Aside from that everything seems to be recovering and starting to grow again. Will remove damaged leaves with next watering after confirming no more damage is happening.. The strawberry diesel are showing mg deficiency as well, looks like it stopped spreading but will be getting another full dose next water. I find with these white LEDs my plants are always starving for more calmag. Last run I had to give them double dose (10mL/gal) to keep them happy, tried to amend soil to compensate for this run but will likely not start breaking down until mid to late flower so still hitting them with calmag for now.

Not a very eventful week. Plants seem to have gotten over soil ph issues, now they are showing Mg deficiency, likely due to using 6.0 ph water to try to reduce soil ph. Waited for them to dry right out then hit 'em with epsom salt/calmag at 6.5ph. Should be last of the issues I face for now hopefully. Now it's just a waiting game. Once roots show themselves time to transplant into soil thats not garbage and all should be well. Maybe, hopefully. Lol. Guess I should mention the extra two plants that have been hanging out last couple weeks incase anyone noticed and was wondering, they are just being temporarily grown in this tent until I can make room in the mother tent. One is an LAOG Kush cut, the same as the two growing in this tent. I'm just keeping a mother in case this pheno is better than one I grew last, I doubt it will be but would kick myself if it ended up being and I didn't take a cut. Other plant (pink tag) is a Tangie Cookies from BC Bud depot. It is from a regular seed, so may be a male, will find out shortly as I have two more cuttings of that in my 4×4 along with tangie cookies female clones (from an S1, I pollinated my frostiest female with my smelliest male. I didn't have room at the time so I gave the seeds to a buddy to play with, he snipped me clones and we will see how it goes) he also had some monster cropped clones of a seed I gave him a cross of tangie cookies and gorilla bomb. He said he got a few to root and didn't have room for them all so into the 4x4 they go. May also snip some cuts off something in the mother tent, debating that now. Essentially, new grow log incoming soon. Edit: 15 Nov. Had an aha moment a couple days ago. Remembered weather change outside affects inside the home as well. Cold outside means low humidity, decided to throw a hygrometer in the tent (moved it into another tent mid last run.) Rh was down to 50% I had temps set to 26°c since tent was normally around 70% rh for all last run. Essentially the VPD (Vapor pressure deficit) was way off. New picture attached with target vpd chart from bigbudsmag.com Last night I dropped temp to 22°c and hooked up a humidifier in the grow room. Tent is sitting at 59%rh putting my VPD back in the green. Plants appear to be enjoying the change. We will see if it continues to improve.

With humidity adjusted and VPD back in range the plants appear to be recovering nicely. They got watered today with epsom salted water ph'd to 6.4 (aimed for 6.5, missed by .1 but should be alright.) Will be hitting with another watering in a couple days and if roots are not showing yet will end up having to top dress (worm shit, gaia 4-4-4) and will water it in with a tea of worm shit, kelp meal, 444, molasses, probably throw a small chunk of a mosquito dunk (between the last dunk water and sticky traps seems like the problem has been eliminated, haven't seen any new gnats in a while, figure one more bti watering and I'll call it dealt with) If I do end up having roots poke through the nursery bag will be transplant time. Since plants seemed to be doing better I lowered the lights a few inches, they are still at lowest power setting (1/10)

Tranplanted half of the plants today, ran out of time to finish up, had some family things come up, such is life. Tossed them into 3 gallon pots, decided to rip the nursery bags off (not necessary as the roots have no problem getting through) just wanted to check on root formation and make sure they were ready to up pot. Kinda winged it on the soil mix just a hit of this a dash of that. Let's see if I can remember what I did. 12 gallons Promix HP 5 gallons Worm Castings 3 gallons Perlite 1 cup 4-4-4 1.5 cup Kelp meal 1 cup Gypsum 1 cup Mineralized Rock Phosphate 0-9-0 .5 cup Langbeinite 0-0-22 3 cups Power Bloom 2-8-4 Sounds about right, will check tomorrow when I transplant the rest what else I added if anything. Decided to test soil before transplant this time. Little bit acidic but should be good to go with a couple waterings. Should be last week of veg for these girls, as long as no other issues come up they will be switching to flower next week. Will see how they adjust to new pots and if I will be able to train the canopy enough by then to make me satisfied. Transplanting complete God damn yellow sticky traps stole a few leaves during the process.. I hate those friggin things. Wife saw one stuck to my damn pant legs yesterday after I finished, lmao. Updated soil amendment list to correct ratios for what I mixed. 24 Nov (Wed) increased lights to 30% 25 Nov (thurs) decreased lights to 20% as I thought I saw a bit of an issue starting. 29 Nov had a few plants looking droopy. Checked pots and they were still slightly heavy. Still recognized it as thirsty not overwatered. (leaves sagging from stem, not bent saggy leaves if that makes sense, should have snapped pics, next time..) either way hit them with a solo cup of water each for the ones looking droopy they perked up within a few min. Increased lights to 30% Tomorrow is start of next week. May just leave them for a couple days, strip lower branches and defoliate on next Friday give a few days to recover and flip them next Tuesday. I have a lot of work to do in my mother tent, she's over grown again.. last time I just chopped it all down a couple feet and chucked it, have no room for more plants. New pic added of some mothers as you may be able to see I have been topping and bending a couple of them almost daily to keep them from touching the light (mars tsl-2000). Time to hack them back again. May take some clones, need to get a count see how far off limit I am. The bubblegum, strawberry diesel, and zkittles are the ones in larger pots causing "issues"

Plants seem to be recovering well from transplant. Looks like bubblegum have found their legs and they may be starting to catch up a little. Going to give plants until Friday or Saturday then cut lower branches that won't reach canopy, and strip off lower bud sites will give them until Tuesday to recover from that and start flower next week. Update: Sat Dec 4th Got them all thinned out, the bubblegum were looking sad being shorter than the rest, made a make shift pot riser from a couple beer cases to even out the canopy. Dropped the light intensity while they recover. Will up it again Monday. Monday I will weave the plants into the net and tuesday they are flipping to 12/12 as long as everything continues to progress and recover. Update: Sun Dec 5th Got bored, decided to do a quick weaving into the net, seems like I may have taken off a couple too many branches, canopy is a bit empty in spots, they may fill in a bit once stretch starts. Honestly though, not too concerned about yield on this run anyways, it's a strain hunt. Once I find something impressive it will be mono run for yield. Pretty sure the majority of these will not be staying around based on what I'm seeing now, that may change a few weeks from now. Have some better genetics that will be running in the next grow, waiting to see if I am taking a trip with the fam jam before popping those beans, would hate to pop seeds and abandon them.

Flower Week 1-Day 1 Lights were on 0700-2130, I just changed timer to be 0800-2000. So plants got 14.5 hrs today because I didn't get around to changing timer until now. Did some small adjustments to a few of the branches in the netting. I mixed up a tea for the next watering. 3 gallons ph'd water w/ calmag 1 cup worm castings .3 cups kelp meal .3 cups 2-8-4 .25 cup 4-4-4 .125 cup langbeinite .125 cup mineralized rock phosphate .125 cup Gypsum 6 tblsp molasses (question added) 1/2 a BTI mosquito dunk When it's ready it will likely be getting watered down with ph'd water to bring it to 6.6 and then hand watered. Pots have been drying out for a few days, they seem to be drinking pretty slowly since transplant, and the new soil seemed to have some gnat eggs. No biggie, most likely get that tea dumped in 'em on Thursday or Friday. (Another question will be asked in the first one) Which will likely wipe out some of the issue, combined with sticky traps and letting the soil dry out, it shouldn't be much of an issue. W1-Day 3 Watered them with the tea Increased light intensity to 30% W1-D4 Increased light intensity to 40% Weaved a few branches into netting again. Sticky traps were delayed. Gonna try to roll some gun tape/duct tape and see if it is sticky enough (it's not, just saw a gnat break loose and fly away, ffs) Need to make a trip to nursery but weather is not great so will be waiting for that. W1-D6 Raised lights and increased power to 50% Sticky traps delivered today and placed in tent. Guess they just didn't update tracking info.

The new container of molasses I bought has mold growing in it. For baking that would be a throw away, but I am curious if that is still usable for making teas. I have seen some soils that add tricoderma and others, just curious? Also can a tea be stored for a week after brewing?

You can still use it for your garden. It's good for the roots and to fight off diseases. I would use the tea within 12 hrs of making it.

W3-D1: Gave a light watering planning to top dress this week. Will be with worm castings, kelp meal, Gaia Bloom, rock phosphate, and langbeinite. Will likely be Thursday so I can make a tea to water it in. Tea will be BTI dunk, molasses, and worm castings. W3-D3: Top dressed .75 tbsp rock phosphate (0-9-0) .5 tbsp langbeinite (0-0-22) 2 tbsp Gaia Bloom (2-8-4) .5 cup worm castings (2-0-0) Watered with 1 solo cup of tea each (2 gallons) 10ml/gal calmag 2 tbsp molasses .5 cup worm castings .5 cup kelp meal Need to go see if my hand sprayer still stinks like garlic from last year. Used it to spray yard, apparently garlic stink keeps mosquitos away.. guess somebody forgot to tell them that, lol. Would like to use it to moisten the top layer of the middle plants, it's hard to hand water the middle of the tent. Probably going to go back to 4 plants in 5 gallons in that tent. Update later that day: Sprayer still stinks like garlic but Idgaf hopefully no negative side effect. Looked up the product I used, says safe for plants, gardens, etc. Its just concentrated garlic oil. Anyways... Put a gallon of ph'd and cal mag'd water and hit the plants with about 3/4 of it. They appear happy. Will see how they look tomorrow. Reduced light intensity to take a picture then set lights to 80% power. Pics added of how they look today. W3-D6 pics added

Day one of week 4 flower. Plants seem to be doing well. The LAOG Kush pheno I have flowering now has some issues it seems. The cola is tucking pistils instead of extending them. I'm going to keep a close eye and ensure they are not nanners forming in the bud. I'm guessing it is too much light, but the other plants are loving it so fuck it, will keep light as is and see how she goes. The last pheno I ran was rather impressive, not so much with this one.

Did a light defoliation of strawberry diesel and bubblegum to remove a bunch of the dead and dying leaves. They are both still struggling, showing phosphorus deficiency however fairly certain it's from overwatering. I have not had to water them in over a week, and the pots are still heavy. They have been doing this pretty much all flower, essentially since transplant. I give them a light watering and they just don't want anything to do with it. Takes them a while to dry out. Guessing the bottom of the pot will be filled with wet soil and dead roots in a few weeks when they are chopped. Will try to limp them to the finish line. Currently watering other plants very lightly with sprayer wand by hand as they start going limp with dry soil now. Trying to get soil of all plants in tent to dry out at the same time and hit them with a heavy watering once they all dry out. Will see how it goes. Zkittlez seem to be the happiest, LAOG look happy but are just not stacking like the other phenotype I have. Bubblegum were stunted from the get go and never quite made their way back to 100% but they seem to be happier than strawberry diesel at this point.

Got really cold here, ended up having to light the wood stove. Basement ambient temp was at 27°C after that. Tents got even hotter at around 30°C. Plants look unhappy, also all started showing deficiencies last week, thought it was watering issue, but was very careful with watering minimally since then and deficiencies are spreading, so it seems like the Gaia nutrients need application more than on the label (1tbs/gal every 3 weeks) even when combined with 3tbs/gal worm castings. Top dressed and watered yesterday. Hopefully they aren't too fucked, i'm already sure they stunted for the week they normally pack weight on so harvest will be light. I will try to change feeding cycle to every two weeks for next grow, and if that's the case the set and forget mentality of amended soil I started using it for is not really the case, especially when having to top dress 16 pots with a net in a tent, that shit sucks when you'realready sore from work, shoveling snow, and chopping wood, lol.. There is a good chance next flowering cycle will see a side by side of amended soil vs basic cheap powdered nutes (Maxi grow and Maxi bloom, as I have tubs of them from when I was running DWC) I already have a couple tangie cookies plants that almost look identical and were cloned at the same time from the same mother. They are ready to pot up, may toss them into 5 gallon bags and just do a side by side while I wait for the other plants (hash plant, clones of old moms, Crescendo, and cbd) to mature. Will wait for this tent to be closer to harvest and start the tangie cookies diary. Since everything seemed to be deficient and hurting I reduced light power to 50% to let them recover a bit while nutrients break down..

Not much to say, deficiencies still present, although they seem to have stopped spreading as much. Everything is beginning to get their own scents (when not being handled, they were stinky if touched a while ago) zkittlez has a fruity smell, LAOG smells like piney lemon, strawberry diesel has a peppery smell. Bubblegum has the least scent for now, it's hard to put a finger on, but will rub a leaf tomorrow and update. It seems the latest top dress was successful in at least slowing down the deficiencies. Will be playing with that next grow. Guessing it needs top dress every 2 weeks instead of 3, or needs more nutrients than 1tbsp/gal during the top dress.. Directions seemed to work fine in veg, but flower they got very unhappy. Had lots of weird things go on this grow that I did not experience before. Its weird, 3 feet away in the next tent I need to water every 1-2 days. This flower run plants were not thirsty at all, then due to that had wet soil/over watering, then deficiencies from that, and after they sorted the wet soil out had more deficiencies. Weird stuff. Anyways, this run is nearly done, will be excited to get the side by side with a few of the ladies next door under way.

Got busy with work and life last week and the garden took the hit.. Funny thing is even with no watering they are still heavy, can't wait to dump these out and see how bad the roots look, and see how the soil looks. Top few inches are dry, but the bottom seems quite heavy. Either way this crop was not turning out very impressive, between over watering, environmental issues, and deficiencies.. Time to chop em down, have amber trichs showing up all over except on the LAOG, still debating keeping it alive but kinda need the tent for humidity and temp control to dry the weed as basement is 35% humidity right now. Will see how I feel after everything else is chopped and see if I can find amber trichs with another look. Update Feb 4th: What a shit show. Yeild was the worst I have had (including runs under the old mars blurple with maxi gro/bloom) not sure what is going on. It's confusing when you have results like this.. 2 clones from the same mom, in the same soil, amended in the same batch, transplanted same day, in the same conditions, and same watering and light cycles, trained the same on the same days.. one looks like its dying, other is a week from harvest looking perfect for where its at.. Pics attached. Both LAOG from same mom. This is the reason next grow will be a side by side with chemical nutrients vs Gaia green. I need to eliminate one variable at a time, and that is one of the two things I changed before grows went all wonky. Other is lights, and I've hit plants with more light than this before, unless these are like the holy grail and I had no clue (doubt it for the price I paid). Ps the majority of flower was done at 50% light, and reduced to 20% for last 2 weeks as they were struggling, burning and deficient Update Feb 6. Still waiting on LAOG and Strawberry diesel to finish up.
