growing_patagonia My chosen method for germinating has been the U.F.O between 2 small plates {plate-wet napkin-Frisian Dew-wet napkin-plate} at 20°. They took only 23 hours to germinate, I couldn't believe it! 😲 Then I moved them to a 1-liter pot with a substrate of worm humus, perlite, vermiculite, and mycorrhizae.

growing_patagonia Hello, Frisian Dew from Dutch Passion germinated in San Martin de los Andes, Patagonia Argentina, on 21-09-2021. The idea is to keep them in an indoor tent under a 400w sodium light until the cold allows us to take them outside, as it will be an OUTDOORS grow in approximately 100-liter geotextile pots. 14/10 topping at the third node.

growing_patagonia Entering the 5th week, I defoliated a bit and transplanted to a 7-liter pot with mycorrhizae in the substrate and watered with dechlorinated water, they are still under a 400w HID sodium light 18/6. Getting them ready to take them out to the outdoor garden in mid-November. 💪

It's a lot of messing but take your girl out in peak sun 3-4pm for 1 hour and return to the tent, do this everyday increasing the time you take her outside by 30mins each time until you get to 12 hrs + outside then she will be fully acclimated

growing_patagonia Hello, in this 6th week I'm still trying to give it a low structure using LST ties, helped by strong defoliation, and I've applied apical pruning to the 4 main colas, so in 10 days I'll have 8 main colas to apply apical pruning to again, aiming for 16 main colas. My goal is to reach February with 64 main colas. Today, 1/11/21, I'm going to water with mineral nutrients called KAWSAY (Argentinian product) that several good growers compare to GROTEK results. By the end of November, the Frisian Dew will go out to the patio or garden to transform into a beautiful specimen in a 100-liter geotextile pot! 💪

growing_patagonia In the seventh week, 12 main tops are clearly visible thanks to low stress training and successive apical prunings. My plan is to keep doing apical prunings on all the tops to achieve at least 48 main tops. It was transplanted on 8/11 into a 20-liter pot to continue its vegetative stage indoors with a 400w HPS sodium light. By the end of the month, it will be moved outside, and in December, it will be transplanted into its final 100-liter pot. San Martin de los Andes, Patagonia, Argentina 😎 It is watered once with dechlorinated water, and the next time is with Kawsay, a plant-based fertilizer, and so on consecutively.

hey there Growing Paragonia, if you're doing to do HST like that it will not at all be a problem, most of the time the stress and shock will hold back the growing even underground, plus the pot size is quite big. Outdoors plants can get really big, i have had great results with 400L+ sizes , but for you if you get some kind of problem, first you can always transplant, second you can just use something like more humic acid as an additive and it will help quite a lot. So long story short, you will be fine and probably you can make 2 or Kg of top quality from the mainlining. I hope this helps ! 🚀

What do you think is the most appropriate way to support or train a large outdoor plant, using mainlining or multiple apical prunings? In my case, I'm going to do it in a 100-liter smartpot.

growing_patagonia The moment has come to go outside today 07/12 my Frisian Dew went out to the garden, I'm going to give it a few days to settle in and soon I will transplant it to its final pot, a 100-liter geotextile smartpot. Today it has 24 main colas, I feel the plant is more flexible to keep tying it to the pot, I will apply LST and after 3 weeks maybe some more apical pruning! It's really hot in my city, 27° in December, it's going to be a hot summer in Patagonia. 😬 -09/12 it was transplanted to its final 100-liter geotextile smartpot, I did a root pruning, cut the last 7/8cm of the root ball, it's the first time I'm doing this technique. -Substrate 20 liters 100% COCO 10 liters worm humus 70 liters GROWMIX PREMIUM 260g of AZOMYTE 30g Bone Ash Fertilizer Namaste From now on everything organic.

growing_patagonia Very happy after some time letting them adapt to the outdoors, the plant reacted well to the root pruning, and developed abundant foliage in these almost 3 weeks of being outside in the garden. The stem finally started to thicken and is taking the shape I always imagined. I continue to water only with Namaste, natural fertilizers, to help the enriched soil. I keep tying with LST, I haven't done any more apical pruning. It's been really hot, so I keep it constantly hydrated. It NEVER showed STRESS at any moment, not when I had problems with white flies, nor with the transplants, not even with the change from INDOOR TO OUTDOORS. In love it with FD.

growing_patagonia I'm very happy with the evolution of the Frisian Dew that was born on September 21, 2021, and today, 01/09/2022, it only measures 50cm in height, but it has a 1-meter diameter, due to an early apical cut and then successive prunings to multiply colas, combined with meticulous LST which has allowed me to train the plant sideways instead of upwards. I'm very busy during the high tourist season in Patagonia, so I can't dedicate as much time to GrowDiaries as I would like, but I'm attaching some low-quality photos from my phone; I'll upload better ones later. 💪

growing_patagonia Age: 4 months Height: 60 cm Diameter: 1 meter Techniques: Multi Topping - LST - DEFOLIATION In 4 months of growing, I can't express the pride I feel for everything I've learned with this Frisian Dew strain from Dutch Passion. I'm thrilled to grow it in my city, San Martin de los Andes, Neuquen, Argentina. 01/20 I did a heavy defoliation so that the light hits the main colas directly. I'm really looking forward to how it will look when it's in advanced flowering. I'm just a few days away from setting up a SCROG structure to help me with the process of supporting the plant. 01/22 Foliar application of delta 9 01/25 Incipient resin and lots of colors, it responded well to delta 9.

growing_patagonia 7/03 I was on vacation for 20 days. A friend took very good care of my beloved Frisian. I had read that the green phenotype flowers earlier, and that’s exactly what happened because in the next diary post, I will be harvesting. It looks like a small table 1 meter in diameter filled with buds, abundant resin, and a skunky smell as I had read the green phenotype produces. The rains have started, and I'm on the lookout for mold since I don't want to lose part of the harvest. I will post more high-quality photos this week.

Wash after the harvest? Yes or no? I've read that after harvesting, you should rinse with a little water mixed with a 1/10 ratio of hydrogen peroxide. It eliminates possible mold or fungus from the humidity. What do you think?

It's recommended to wash outdoor plants too because of the dirt. First water, then water with baking soda a few times, and then with lemon several times. That's how I do it. Best regards, my friend. Much løve 💚

Don't wash unless you have to. Because your soaking bud then gonna try to dry it and it will be really wet and invite mold .

growing_patagonia 13/03 Final stretch, I had some issues with Mold since the nighttime humidity is around 88%, which makes the proliferation of fungus on such a thick and compact bud a problem. And seeing the trichomes, I noticed that almost 10% of the trichomes are amber, which is the harvest point I like. Tomorrow I will harvest one of the prettiest plants I've had the chance to grow, full of learnings. P.S.: GREEN PHENOTYPE STARTED FLOWERING 1 MONTH EARLIER THAN THE REST OF MY PLANTS AND WILL BE HARVESTED 1 MONTH EARLIER THAN ANOTHER FRISIAN DEW VIOLET PHENOTYPE (https://growdiaries.com/diaries/133840-grow-journal-by-growing-patagonia) P.S.2: GREEN PHENOTYPE CLASSIC SKUNK AROMA, COMPACT RESINOUS BUDS!💪

Hello! Greetings from Amsterdam, Northern Holland. I'm also growing Frisian Dew, it's fun to see someone harvesting while I have a three-centimeter plant that sprouted ten days ago! Last year this variety in my garden grew very well planted in living soil, so the roots have all the space they want. The height was 3 meters and 19 centimeters. This year I'm trying to reach four meters, also because it gets more sun at height when the sun is low in a small city garden. Last year it survived all kinds of bad weather, horizontal rain, cold wind, and there was practically no mold! I wish you a lot of pleasure smoking! (I hope my Spanish has been understandable, I'm studying Spanish with Spanish television and Netflix)
