Howdy folks. Here we go again. I've heard good things about this strain so I'm excited to see how she goes. Took a bit longer to sprout than normal but seems fine, took 4 days to get about 1"of root then put her straight into her new home. Just used a bit of rain water for the germination. Take care 😎🌱
Hey there folks, pretty easy week this week once I'd sorted my humidifier out, not much to report, she's doing great. I left the bottle over the top for the first couple of days, I just couldn't get my humidity as high as I'd like but I've sorted it now so she's out in the open. I've only watered her twice this week with rain water I'd left out overnight, .5lt directly over the plant and made sure to really shake the bottle to get some oxygen into the water as well before watering, saves on a bubbler 😂. 😎🌱
So that's week 2 done and dusted and she seems really happy, not much to report really, I've been keeping the humidity around 65-70 for the most part and watered her twice again this week, the last one yesterday I added a small amount of voodoo juice just to give those roots a helping hand, .5ml in .5lt of water, again just directly over the stem. I took the two top leaves off yesterday to give those lower nodes a bit more light, I'll let her grow a bit more before we start any training so let's see how she goes. 😎🌱
Well we're back again and that's another week under her belt and she's coming along nicely. Pretty good week this week, I just can't help myself, 😂 she seems to have responded well tho. This is long so strap in 😎
The only issue I have with planting directly into her final pot and watering directly over the stem for the first couple of week is the rest of the soil in the pot starts to lose its water retention, I've now solved my problem, a big cooking pot! 😂 Fits a 3 gal pot perfectly, then all I do I just run about 6-7lts of rain water I'd left sitting over night, with the plant sitting in the pot, till it completely filled it( kinda wish I'd taken a snap now) and let it sit for a couple of minutes or so till she was proper soaked then took her out and sat her to one side to drain out for another 5 minutes till the pot stopped leaking 💧💧 I then watered her with 3lts of tap water I'd also sat out for a couple of days with a good dose of voodoo juice and also some cal mag and b52 to replace what I'd washed away. Much easier than what I was doing 😂. Obviously I didn't water her anymore this week 😂
While doing all this I'd noticed the bottom of the stem was getting quite hard and woody so I also decided to start her training as well, maby a bit early but I can't help myself it's the exciting bit 😂😂 So I secured the stem from one side and bent her over with a couple of pins and started moving the lower nodes into position. I removed a couple of leaves which would start covering things once she started turning up again as well.
The rest of the week I've just been moving her pins outwards little by little stretching her out a bit more each day, I will admit this is my favorite bit 😂
I'm done 😂 Thanks if you got this far 👊 she seems to be flying along I've never tried this or any of Dutch Passions other strains and I'm really pleased at the moment I hope she keeps going at this rate.
Well that's it for this week. Take care folks happy growing 😀🌱💚
And we're back for another week. Well that's week 4 down and it's not been too bad, not perfect but that's part of the fun I think 😂.
I watered her on day 23 (3lts), but think I over did it with the nutes, I'd started to noticed a few spots that looked like calcium deficiency so added a good dose of cal mag to the mix but the advanced stuff has quite a lot of nitrogen in it already so probably didn't need quite as much feed in hindsight, we live and learn 😀. The next day I noticed a few of the leaves had started to claw down at the end 🤦♂️.
I watered her again yesterday (day 28) with just plain water (3lts) and only added 2ml of cal mag this time and no nutes see if that helps.
Let's hope it doesn't hurt her too much as she's moving properly into flower this week, I've also noticed some weird triple leaves coming out in a few places up the plant this week, I'm not complaining, more bud sites surely 🤣 but weird all the same.
I've continued her training this week, just pulling her down every other day or so trying to keep an even canopy and as she's also flipping to flower this week I took off all the lower bud sites, leaving only the very top ones. I also took off a few leaves lower down under the canopy which were getting in the way of watering or just straight growing into the soil.
So that's it for another week let's hope she keeps going strong, I'll have to keep an eye on those nitrogen levels but fingers crossed she'll be alright, thanks for stopping by. Take care 😀🌱💚
So that's week 4 done and I must say I'm impressed, she's stretching more than I could hope, at least 6 inches I recon and she's not stopping yet🤞
It's been a pretty easy week she seems to be losing her claw 🦀, I've been going easy on the feed and also switched her over to the bloom nutes this week, I've watered her twice this week, once on day 31 and again day 35 but with only 1.5ml of feed in 3lts of water this time, with 2ml of cal mag and 1ml of b52 added as well.
I took a few leaves off mid week as she was starting to get a bit bushy for my liking and also switched my little fan out for the big one as I don't need the humidifier anymore, the humidity seems to keep around 45-50 at the moment which im happy with.
Well that's it for this week if she keeps this stretch going for another few day I'll need a bigger tent 😂. Take care 😀💚🌱
So that's another week down and she's flying along 🙂, by the looks of things she seems to be recovered from her nitrogen excess, she's fully into flowing mode now and continued stretching nicely, she's started stacking the buds up this week and those purples have started showing themselves. 💜
I've watered her twice this week, day 37 then day 41 and switched her over to the bloom nutes, I also added a small amount of the big bud to the second watering as well.
That's it for this week fairly smooth sailing I hope it continues, take care 🌱💜🙂
And we're back again. Well that's another week down and not too bad a week she's packing the buds on now and started developing some trichomes, more every day it seems.
I took a handful of leaves off mid week, the higher leaves had started to cover a bit too much for my liking and i lollypoped a few of the lower nodes as well while I was at it, makes for easier watering anyway 😂.
Again I've watered her twice this week I'm pretty sure I over did it tho, I added a bit more of the sensi bloom to the mix but she's really didn't like it, a few of the leaves have gone a bit yellow and a few more with burnt edges, it does seem to be a theme with this strain tho. I'm not complaining I know for the next one now and the less nutes I have to use the better in my opinion.
Anyway the colours everytime I open the tent blow me away I've got high hopes the bud will do the same. 💜 Anyway that's it for this week if you made it this far thanks. Take care. 💜🌱👊
Well here we are back again for another week 😀 plain sailing this week for the most part, my incompetence last week doesn't seem to have had much of an effect hopefully.
She's been packing the buds on this week to my delight 💜 Every time I open the tent I find myself staring at her for ages, those purples and pinks blow me away! 😂 She's beginning to frost up nicely as well.
No real smell at the moment, untill I move her or trim a leaf or something then you get the sweetest aroma wafting lol, if she tastes like she smells I'm in for a treat definitely.
Watered her twice again but went easy with the nutes this week after last week 🤦♂️ I left the sensi bloom out of the first feed of the week and just fed the b52 and the big bud, I've feed every watering so far so i don't think she'll miss one or two feeds, saying that tho I did add 1ml to the second watering. The burning hasn't gotten any worse so hopefully it didn't mess her up too much. 🤞
Well that's it for this week, thanks for dropping by. Till next week. Take care.
💜🌱💜🌱
I can't believe it's been 10 weeks already! Easy week this week, not much to report really, she's trucking along just fine. 💜
If I'm honest I was beginning to get a little disappointed with how thick and loose the buds were but this week she's put those fears to rest and she's really started firming up nicely, and the smell, whooo it smells so sweet every time I open the tent door now, I am really looking forward to this one. 😀
Keeping with the same boring watering, 😂 hey if it ain't broke don't fix it 😂 twice in the week again, I bumped the nutes up slightly for the first watering but halfed them for the second watering, I kept the additives the same in both tho just trying to dial that nitrogen back a bit.
She's losing a couple of leaves but I'm putting that down to she's nearly done more than anything, couple more weeks and I reckon and she'll be ready, I'm starting to see a few cloudy trics amongst the clear ones so won't be long now.
And that's it for another week, thanks for stopping by. Take care. 💜🌱👊
Hey folks, we're back with another week, hope your looking forward to the holidays. 😃🎄
It's been another easy week really, she's trucking along just fine, no problems this week, she's still thickening up but I am seeing a few fox tails starting to develop on a few buds, some people hate them but I think they look cool 😎, ive been checking her with the loupe every day and I'm seeing more and more cloudy trics this week. Looks like it's guna be a great start to the year 😂 I think she's looking amazing, I am loving her purples, this is the first purple pheno I've grown and I'll definitely be doing some more. 💜
Watered her twice this week, I know shock horror lol, I did leave the second watering till she was wilting over tho this week not through anything other than I didn't have time, I have read tho that a bit of stress towards the end of flower can increase trichome production but I didn't noticed anything really, I guess you'd have to do it a few times to see results. Maby I'll do the same this week and see if I notice any changes.
And that's it for another week, only a couple of weeks to go now, I think I'm actually getting excited 😆 . Thanks for stopping by and getting this far. Take care 💜🌱👊
Hey folks and we're back again a day late and I'll be honest I'd completely lost track of the days this week 😂. Firstly hope everyone's having a great holiday I know I am. 🎄🎄
It's been an interesting week, I've been on a journey of discovery about pH and how I haven't been as diligent as I could have been 😂. So I've never even checked my pH, I know school boy error, and I this is the main issue I've had with this grow I think, I've never even watered her to run off 🤦♂️, so this week I upped the amount of water I fed to 5lts and I checked my feed before watering. With the pH perfect range from AN it was fine beforehand (6.6) but the run off was coming out about 7.8, a bit high, so the second watering this week I pH'd the water down a bit before watering (6.0) and then the run off was 6.9 👍 going the right way. I think this will definitely help in the long run, I always felt I was playing catch up and hopefully doing this will mean I'm more in tune with what's going on and be able to respond a bit quicker.
Apart from that it's been an easy week, she's continuing to fill out and cloudy those trichs up, I am seeing more and more fox tails though which I think is stopping her from filling out completely but she's looking and smelling amazing I'm really pleased with her. I'm going to stop feeding her after this week and start her flush ready for harvest, I'm thinking I'm guna give her 2 more weeks and she'll be done, that and I can't wait any longer 😂.
So that's it again for another week, thanks for stopping by people. Take care, happy growing! 💚🌱👊
Happy new year folks!
And she's still not ready, I did have visions of me chopping her down this week but I'm yet to see hardly any amber trich's so up she stays 😃. I'm not complaining but I am getting impatient to try her though 😂.
Easy Street from now on, I've stopped her nutes now and have been giving her just plane water that's been left out for a couple of days, I have been pHing the water thought before hand and checking the run off again after and the run off both times were 6.3 and 6.5 so I'm happier now. Let's see if it helps next time out. I have found I have had to use a bit more water though, 5lts up from 3lts, to get the run off so maby it just goes to show i wasn't watering enough to begin with.
One weird thing though I've noticed this week, a few what I thought to begin with were resin balls but from further research could be balls of sap, maby caused from the extra watering. I tasted one and it did taste really sweet, a new line in cannabis syrup maby 😂 no one else I know has ever experienced them so who knows?
Well that's it for another week, maby we'll be back for another next week, she just seems to keep on going 😃, thanks for stopping by folks, take care. 🌱💜👊
So that's it, she's done. I'd started seeing a few more brown trichs this week and I didn't think she's going to thicken up much more with the foxtailing going on so I decided to chop her down the end of this week, I'll update with a harvest diary once it's dry and I can get a weight for it all.
I must say I am impressed though, even with the foxtails I think I'm still going to get a decent harvest, definitely keep me going for a while 😂.
Simple week this week, since I decided I'd chop her I only watered once this week, just with some plain water again, and let her dry right out before I chopped her just to help with the drying process.
Which is where she is now for the next 8-10 days hopefully and then in to the bucket for curing. I'm going to have to stop myself dipping into it before hand tho, like that's going to happen 😂 cause she smells amazing, real fruity but with a strong diesel smell in the background. It doesn't sound great but believe me it if it tastes anything like it smells it'll be something else 😜.
Till next time growmies, take care. Happy growing. 💜🌱👊
Really pleased with how she came out, I love these colors, I've never grown a purple before and I'm amazed green can be this purple 😂.
Not the tightest buds but plenty of them.
No real issues this grow, a bit of nutrient excess and pH fluctuation but I'm pretty sure that was my fault, I've definitely learned a few things this grow.
So that's it she's fully dried and cured, should keep me busy for a while 😂. I chopped her on day 90 then dried her for 9 days before curing her in jars for a couple of weeks.
I'm pleased with how she turned out, the buds are pretty loose but they still smoke the same 😂, not a bad weight altogether though and speaking of the smoking, she tastes amazing, like blackberry's dipped in diesel, believe me it's better than it sounds 😂, it's not weak either, you definitely know you've had a joint when you've had one, trouble is I just want another one straight after. 🤪
Feel the grow itself went ok, any problems were mostly through my own doings though. I'm definitely going to start feeding to run off and keep a better watch on my pH levels, I think that's probably been the source of most of my problems since the beginning.
So that's it, thanks for everyone's comments and everyone who stopped by, see you on the next one. 🌱👊💜🌱
Hey @Professor_Chaos, thanks for your comment and stopping by, made me laugh that mate 😂 , That purple you grew was the bomb, love those purples mate. 👊🌱
@@Gezza,
You're doing great! Shouldn't be much longer from here! I will follow along.. you should check out my Purple Lemonade I finished awhile back.. gorgeous colors. I tried a bloody skunk from sweet seeds.. didnt turn red/purple like these phenos did.. she only showed alot of colors in the stem.. solid red.. but just crazy how phenos can come out so different.. i thought I was sold some bunk seeds till the stems started turned red and she was skunky af.. awesome smoke too.. m bad growmie.. I'm a little stoned and just finger fucked my keyboard in your comment section 🤣 nothing like growing your own bud tho.. keep it up and I will be following!
Great job on the LST! I'm glad to hear your nugs are tightening up!!.. I guess I was wrong about the (early on) purple/red phenos.. they can get dense! Maybe I fucked up somewhere.. especially with the nitrogen toxicity early to mid-flower I ran into.. oh, and I wouldn't
worry about those leaves fading.. you are getting pretty close to harvest.. just smooth sailing from here.. seeing your purple pheno is makin me wanna bust out a purple pheno myself lol. Good job, growmie! She is absolutely stunning!
Hey @Professor_Chaos, I did wondered when she stretched if she'd fill out but she did, they're not solid but I'm pretty pleased, I didn't exactly nail this one either tho we definitely had our problems along the way, I always seem to push them too hard. This is the first purple pheno I've grown and I'll be doing another one for sure, these colours are amazing. Roll on the next couple of weeks. Cheers mate. Take care. 💜🌱👊
Awesome trichome shot! We may be harvesting the same week! I tend to overfeed almost every grow.. do you check runoff? When I grew in soil, I would only feed once a week and just water 2 more times (usually) but with soil and synthetic nutes, salt build-ups can happen easily.. i always check my runoff, even in coco coir.. its good to know what your roots pH is, and the amount of salts coming out of the root zone.. not gonna get an exsct reading, but it should be kinda close and I can always spot a salt build up within a day or 2 instead of letting sit there for a week or 2 and then the plant shows signs of stress. I love coco coir/perlite.. just water, feed, water, feed etc... but with soil, I found I had to water, water, feed, water, water, feed, etc. To avoid salt build ups.. checking runoff every watering/feeding is a must for me.. people get away without it tho.. but even my current grow, I tried to only feed at 850 PPM instead of 1000 PPM and still getting bad nute burn.. but each plant, strain, pheno can be different.. idk wtf happened this time.. but she should still come out dank af!
@@Gezza,
I love coco.. no waiting for medium to dry if you need to flush. I enjoy the daily time with the ladies so watering daily isnt an issue for me. But yes, it is much easier to control, in my opinion
Hey @Professor_Chaos, came out good didn't it, I even pleased myself with that one. 😂 I've never even checked my run off lol, it's a bloody good shout tho, I have fed pretty much every watering and your so right, I just seem to be playing catch up all the time, reacting when it's too late really. I'm definitely guna try it on the next one. I've been using plant magic soil supreme the last couple of grows and I do like it but I think it's maby a bit hot for the beginning and I also don't think it's helping in trying to dial the nutes in once she's growing. I'm guna have to look into this coco a bit more I think, seems you have a lot more control.
