Welcome to my diary!!
This is my first full diary so fingers crossed I should have should have some nice nuggy Hazeberry (Blueberry X Shining Silver Haze) courtesy Royal Queen Seeds and it's a good start with both seeds germinating!! And I use 100% organic top soil amendments!!
The packet gives a 9-11 week flowering time (I think it'll be more between 8-10) but I'm still undecided on how long to veg them. But I think it'll be around the 5-8 week mark before I flip them but as I'm using mycorrhizae I might do it a tad longer. Funghi is the way forward!!
I've started them out in standard starter pots and with the pearlite and coco I've added some Charge with an NPK of 3-2-3 and some worm castings to start them off. With some powdered oyster shells for calcium and to help pH balance the soil. It'll be another 2 to 3 weeks before add the next set of amendments with some extras added to kick-start the vegetation stage!!
Once they're a decent size I'm going to move them to their final 20l pots. The LEDs are on at 50% and I'm adding just a small amount of pH balanced dechlorinated water when it dries out. The plastic bottles covering them are to get the humidity nice and high which is the ideal conditions for them at this stage.
As a long shot I did give the 2 chocolopes a go but as suspected they didn't pull through.
Happy growing and I'll have an update next week!! 🤙
First week in and both girls are making movements.
One is doing better than the other by a noticeable difference. There seems to be a few mutations on more than one leaf including both the first two true leaves coming through which isn't good but I'm hoping she is going to push through.
I've loaded the coco from the start with a gentle 3-2-3 mixed with some worm castings and some powered oyster shells which has calcium which should also pH balance the coco and provide the extra calcium it need as some with be taken up by the coco.
I'm giving them minimal water and applying the 'water when dry' technique. As I've fed the soil I just add pH balanced dechlorinated water for 3 to 4 weeks then I can add some more top soil amendments as all the nutrients should have been taken up. And to keep the humidity high and withing range I've just put glasses over the top.
I've got the LED on at 50% to make sure they get the right spectrum at this stage, which is blue, and I'll switch it up a tad more in a couple of weeks and will be added another LED as I don't want to give them too much early and potentially burn them. And I've got one fan running on low aimed towards the LED keeping food air circulation going.
I'll be looking to move them to their final pots around week 5.
Other than than nothing else to report and I'll have another update in another week!!
Happy growing!! 🤙
Week 2 done and dusted!!
Both girls have gained some height and some extra leaves. The one with some mutations is playing catch-up a little to the other one, which is looking good!!
I'm giving them just pH balanced dechlorinated water as I'm using slow release fertiliser and for the first time I made some foliar spray with the Charge I had (EcoThrive) which I'll be applying every 2 weeks during veg to give them a boost. And I'm keeping them under cover a little longer to keep the humidity high.
I'll be top dressing them with a small amount of amendments to keep them going next week and I'm waiting for the right time to start some LSTing. In the next week or so I'll look to increase the LED to 80/100%!!
Happy growing!! 🤙
Week 3 done!!
I'm still just giving her dechlorinated pH balanced water.
Next week I'll look to transplant them into their final 20l pots and I'll give them their first proper feed!!
Week 4 done and dusted!!
Both are looking great dispite one of the girls showing heaving mutations early on but she pulled through fine!!
I've tranplanted them to their final 20l pots and sprinkled the roots with mychorrizae funghi to help expand the root system to help with nutrient uptake.
They had their first feed of amendments which will keep them going for the next 2 weeks with given them water only. These include worm castings, 'grow' from living soils, some charge from eco-thrive and some powdered oyster shells.
I've got a 20l bucket with an air stone to give her oxygenated dechlorinated pH balance water for the next 2 weeks.
I've added an extra co2 bag to help with growth and I've plugged the extractor into a hygrometer plug so when the humidity goes too high it will turn on the extractor which will lower the RH so that's automated I don't have to worry about it.
Lastly I've given them their first light defoliation and taken off the first 2 sets of leaves to direct all the energy into the upper conopy.
See you next week for another update!! 🤙
Week 5 done and dusted!!
They're not showing any signs of any deficiencies and both are looking great!!
I've topped them both and I'll start some HST next week. I'll look to top them again in another week or two...or when another 2 nodes have developed!!
Still just watering them and will be giving them another feed next week!!
See you next week for another update!! 🍇🍋🤙
Week 6 done and dusted and there's been massive growth...BUT...I've snapped one of the main stems!! 😂🤦♂️
I tried to save it but it was too far snapped and the leaves were coming and going and eventually started I wilt...so I decided to take it off and pulled the rest of the stems around to make a trifector!! So not all was lost!!
I've given them a huge top dressing that will last for another 2 weeks and the Living Soils Grow that I've ordered hasn't arrived yet which is slightly annoying as I wanted to follow through with a complete Living Soils regime. I've had to switch to Blood Fish & Bone which I had as backup, so it's still 100% organic. I'll be doing at least one more top dressing before flipping them so I'm undecided whether to stick with BFB or switch back to Living Soils. But either way I'll be using the Bloom and Bloom 2 for the flowering!!
I've done some intense training (hence the snap) and taken everything off from the bottom up a couple of nodes to..what will eventually be..the top bud sites!! I've pinched and bent the stems close to the top canopy to keep them flat along with tying the main stems fown so I'll end up with a nice canopy coverage!! And I'm topping again once these current nodes are long enough which will be in another week max!!
Tested the pH and it's spot on at 6.5. Other than minimal yellowing on some tips there's no other signs of deficiency. No bugs either and the conditions are spot on!!
See you next week for another update!! 🍇🍋🤙
Week 6 done and dusted!!
Making some great progress!! I've taken off their ties and am going to let them do their thing!!
They've had a feed and I've given them some Grow, and some Bloom at quarter the stated measurement to get them ready for when I flip them!!
I've also got a problem - FUNGUS GNAT LAVAE!! ☠️ Luckily I've dealt with the worst of them before - spidermites being the worst - so I have a backup with Diatomite aka Diatomaceous Earth, one of if not the best 100% organic pesticide!!
Diatomite (or Diatomaceous Earth: DE for short) is a very fine silica-rich powder. It is made from a naturally occurring, soft, siliceous sedimentary rock made up of the fossilised microscopic skeletal remains of hard-shelled plant-like algae called diatoms.
The make-up of diatomite is approximately 33% silicon, 19% calcium, 5% sodium, 3% magnesium and 2% iron along with several other trace minerals.
Diatomite is a lethal dust with microscopic sharp edges that cuts through their protective covering and dries them out. It will not harm the worms or any of the beneficial microorganisms in the soil. I just mix it in with the feed once per month and let it do its thang!! 🤙
I've also made a foliar spray from it and will be applying this once per week when the lights go out!!
I've done some lollipopping and defoliation to just leave to top bud sites and have topped them one last time. I'll probably flip them in 2 to 3 more weeks when this food has been depleted then I'll switch to the flowing amendments Bloom and Bloom 2.
See you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙
Week 8 done and dusted!!
I've lowered the scrog net to the top of the canopy to start spreading out the bud sites.
And the one with the snapped stem was stunted so is a lot bushier and is playing catchup!!
Still just feeding them water and they're both looking healthy with no signs of bugs or lavae in the coco..so the Diatomite worked a treat!!
Catch you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙
Week 9 done and dusted!! Week 1 of flower!! 🌸
This week I've let them do their thing with a bit of tucking and there's been some big movements!! 📐
Still just feeding them water but I'm supposed to give them another feed as per the regimen but I've decided to hold off another week as I've been giving them heaped tablespoons and they're both looking good!! 🌿
I'll probably flip them next week and give them a heavy trim and start them on the Bloom amendments!! 🍽️
Catch you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙
UPDATE: I decided to defoliate a tad as soon as I updated my diary. Nothing too heavy. Just fan leaves that were blocking lower bud sites or that were looking a bit sorry for themselves!! 😔
And I also decided to flip them and top dress them on the Bloom amendments and I'm currently waiting on some mycoboost to topup the trace minerals. Looking forward to what this stretching period does!! ☀️
Week 10 done and dusted!! Week 2 of flower!! 🌸
Both looking good. The one with the main snapped stem is playing catchup but she's looking healthy. And the other is a beast!! 🐻
Added some mycoboost to help feed the mycelium network to help with nutrient uptake and gave them a dose of foliar spray!! 🍽️
All the bud sites are ready to stretch and I've managed to get a few of them!! 📐
Catch you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙

Week 11 done and dusted!! Week 3 of flower!! 🌸
Both looking strong, the smaller one is about 14 inches tall and the beast is about 20!! 📐
Given them another top dressing to take them into their post stretch period and I've lowered the nitrogen and added a couple of tablespoons of Bloom2 to get them ready for bud development. I've also upped their water as they're thirsty and are drinking everything I'm throwing at them!! 💦
Catch you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙
Week 12 done and dusted!! Week 4 of flower!! 🌸
There's been some more movement and stretching and the canopy has now taken shape and the top bud sites are positioned, developing and ready for the post stretch period. The home straight isn't far away now!! 🌱🌲
Just top dressed them with some mycoboost then next week I'll start with the Bloom2 and I'll probably add some guano as an extra boost!! 🦇
May give them one last defoliation next week to clear some of the fan leaves!! ✂️
Catch you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙
Week 13 done and dusted!! Week 5 of flower!! 🌸
The buds are really coming along...lots of frostyness and it looks like there's a lot more to come!! ❄️
The smell is picking up!! And the conditions are spot on!! 🎯
Top dressed this week with 9 tbsp Bloom2, 4 tbsp powdered oyster shells for calcium, 4 tsp of mycoboost and 2 tsp of guano and will give them pH balanced water until I top dress them again next week!! 🍽️
Catch you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙
Week 14 done and dusted!! Week 6 of flower!! 🌸
Massive growth this week with the buds, lots of frosting and the smell is really getting strong!! Looks like it's going to be a colourful harvest with red and lilac coming through on the sugar leaves!! 🍃🍂
The beast has had all the proper attention and training and has 20+ bud sites including 8 main colas...all looking strong and frosty with lots of trichomes!! #2 looks a lot different..really dense and bushy..but to be fair I did neglect her a tad hence the big difference!! But she's still frosty but just not as much!! ❄️
I've top dressed with 9 tbsp of Bloom2, 2 tbsp of powdered oyster shells for calcium, 4 tsp of mycoboost and 2 tsp of guano for the extra P and K!! Fingers crossed they'll take everything I'll throw at them...and the mycorrhizae network will help they take up as much food as they can!! 🤞
Catch you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙
Week 15 done and dusted!! Week 7 of flower!!
The main girl is coming out in all sorts of colours...reds, lilacs and purples and she's looking beautiful!! The other one has got a lot of foliage as I've neglected her a tad so I've just let her do her thing!! She's got some pretty flat buds as she didn't stretch much!! But she's really sticky and smells great!! ❄️
On the main one the buds are plentiful and dense and are swelling everyday!! New white pistols popping up every morning!! And the tricomes are all over the place!! I've checked though a small loop that I've got and they're all clear at this stage!! Couple more weeks then I think they'll be done!! And the smell at this stage is something else!! 👃
I watered in some espom salts for one last bit of magnesium sulfate to help with nutrient uptake and for the last push to fatten up the buds!! 🐷
I've not top dressed them this week and I probably won't feed them again as I've thrown so much at them they should be good until harvest!! They're still drinking lots but I'll be dialling that down a tad the closer I get to harvest!! 💦
Catch you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙
Week 16 done and dusted!! Week 8 of flower!!
All the colours are coming along now and the leaves are starting to fade and drop off so she's nearly ready!! One more week and she'll be ready any time from then!! 🍂
Lots of tricomes popping up still and new calyxes are causing the buds to, fatten up!! I've got a digital loup so have shots of these up close!! ❄️
The other is looking really green still but she stinks and looks like she'll spit out some interesting flowers!! 🌱
Still just giving them water and the temp and RH have been spot on!! 🎯
Catch you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙
Week 17 done and dusted!! Week 9 of flower!! 🌸
The packet says 9-11 weeks flowering time so the harvest window is open!! 🌽
The beast:
The buds and calyxes are going mad and are really bulking out..the smell seems to get better everyday..the nugs are rock solid, covered in trichomes and they keep spitting out new white pistils every day!! ❄️
There's lots of cloudy trichomes but there's lots of clear ones too...with a few appearances from the amber ones!! 🚥
The leaves are dropping like dominoes and she looks like she's nearly ready for the chop!! 🔪
#2:
She's bushier and much greener than her sister!! She's got some crazy bud formations going on, they're not as dense but still pretty solid..and seems to be a tad more resinous!! ❄️
Same with this one on the trichome front..a mixed bag!! 🛄
They both are quite a contrast with the #2 having a massive stem snap..and it really shows!! But she's done her own thing and the stems are really packing on weight!! 🏋️♂️
I reckon 2 more weeks but once I get around 10% amber they're coming down!! 🌲
The smell is becoming a problem so I've attached and extra carbon filter on the exhaust...so that's 2 filters on the exit and the latter being reversed. So I've stuffed some extra scented roll inside for good measure!! ☣️
Catch you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙
Week 18 done and dusted!! Week 10 of flower!! 🌸
They're ready!! There's enough milky/amber for my liking and they're currently on day 4 of zero water so they'll be pretty much bone dry!! 🏜️
I've turned the LEDs off for their 2 days of darkness!! 🌃
And once that's up I'll give the bottom of the tent a quick clean and take everything out except the extractor fan and a small dehumidifier then 14 days of drying!! 🍂
Catch you next week for another update!! 🍋🍇🤙
Great strain to grow!! Strong resilient and they ended up great!!
They both had strong resistance to pests including adult fungus gnats and larvae and they took everything I threw at them food wise!!
