Germinated in a paper towel, tap root popped out in one day and planted her in a 3g fabric pot with fox farm ocean forest soil. Hit her with some recharge a few days after her first true leaves showed up. I have her under an awful blurple for now so I apologize for the lighting, ordered an SF-2000 for the attic tent so that should be in soon and she’ll get the full spectrum so I’ll have some better photos in the coming weeks. Really stoked to try this strain, never grown or smoked it before. I’ve had some great grows with Fastbuds genetics so I’m looking forward to this one!
Nothing too exciting for week 1 of veg. The new light came in and I’m super impressed with it. I ended up going with a more budget friendly option in the viparspectra xs2000. It seems to have a more blue/white spectrum than the sf-2000 in the tent downstairs but this one actually feels a little more solidly built and has a thicker heat sink with the fins to increase the surface area. The real reason I went with this one though is because it runs hotter and this tent is in a very lightly insulated attic and it’s starting to get cold out here. I got a temperature controller to cut on a small space heater whenever it gets down to ~65F and it’s keeping the tent in a stable 65-78F range. I’m hoping I can get some healthy plants up there this round.
Not much to say here, week 2 of veg is kind of boring haha. I’ve been letting her do her thing up in the attic. Got a temperature controller to keep the tent warm since it’s dipping down into the 30’s at night and my attic isn’t super insulated but it’s doing great at keeping the plants happy. Thinking I’ll see a big increase in growth in the next couple weeks. I think I’m going to go a bit lighter on the LST for these plants. Loving the new light, can’t wait to see how it does in flower.
So far so good, this attic tent has been a breeze so far. They’ve been super low maintenance (mostly because I don’t want to go up to the attic all the time) so they’ve just been doing their own thing and they’re looking great. Just noticed last night that this one has pistils popping out from all the nodes so she’s going to be full on flowering soon. I hadn’t even started any LST yet but I tied the main top down a bit last night to try to allow the lower nodes to catch up a bit but I’m not going to go too crazy. Now that I have both tents up and running simultaneously I’m not really going for yield, I just want to keep these girls healthy and get some good quality buds.
Lots of growth this week, really struggling to maintain humidity in the attic tent this week so I have a humidifier up there and I’m not running the fan constantly anymore. Expect her to keep stretching next week before focusing on building flowers. I have some stuff from build a soil coming on Monday that I picked up on their Black Friday deals so I’m looking forward to not using the bottles for these two plants.
Another good week for the gorilla glue plant. She’s definitely a small plant so I’m not expecting a huge yield or anything but she’s super healthy so I’m hoping for some good quality. I top dressed with the build a soil build a flower top dress kit, which is just a combination of a few different types of compost and some organic dry amendments with focus on the PK and Ca.
All in all I’m super happy with this grow so far. I’m blow away with how happy the plants are in the attic and the space heater is doing great keeping it warm enough up there. She’s definitely in full flower now so I expect by this time next week she’ll be starting to bulk up. So far in my experience fastbuds genetics don’t fuck around , it’s pedal to the metal the whole time.
This plant is kicking ass. It got some light stress and the leaves closest to the lights started fading to yellow and praying. I forgot that this new light has a bit more power than the sf2000 but I raised them up a bit and she seems to be doing fine now. It’s kind of hilarious how fast this plant is growing, it really might be truly an 8 week strain. I think the compost in the build a flower was a bit hot because I have some top burn, thought it could also just be due to the light stress. This obviously isn’t going to be a huge yielder but I think it’s gonna be super frosty.
Another good week, the light stress seems to have stopped progressing since raising the lights. She has some tip burn but I think that just came from the top dress a few weeks ago, it hasn’t gotten any worse really. I’ll probably hold off on top dressing another week or two next time I run this strain. Despite the light and tip burn the bud development is going great. It’s not going to be a huge yielder but the buds I do get are going to be great, I can already tell. Really loving how easy this whole run has been. I’m thinking it’ll just be another couple of weeks and she’ll be ready.
Home stretch for this girl. Not much new this week. The buds are plumping up, I’ll need to start scoping the trichomes, none of the pistils are changing yet but it’s looking like they will soon.
I figured out that my old cal mag had started going bad so I switched to a new type that almost immediately fixed the issues I was seeing in the northern lights auto that is sharing the tent with this plant. I’m thinking the yellowing leaves on this plant may have been partially magnesium, it was definitely the lights early on but I think the amount of yellowing I’m seeing now is a lack of mg. I’ve also started seeing spotting on one of the leaves that looks like calcium, so that fits into the bad cal mag theory.
Despite some nutrient issues this plant is doing great and I think it’s going to finish out strong. Not gonna be a massive yield but I’m hoping the quality is there. The buds are looking and smelling great!
Another solid week for this girl, she’s pretty much done. She has a nice fade going on and the trichomes are mostly cloudy and starting to get some amber. I tried to get some decent pictures this week because it truly is a beautiful plant with that senescence adding some purple to the buds and leaves. I have the in-laws coming this weekend so I have to let her go a bit longer but I’ll probably chop early next week when the dry room (aka the guest room lol) is free.
I brewed up a compost/nutrient tea with some cowoco vermicompost and a scoop of build a soil craft blend, primarily for the northern lights plant this one is sharing a tent with, but since this this one is fading so heavily and needs to make it through the weekend I watered in some for this plant too. It was my first ever tea and it came out a bit stronger than I expected (~1.2 ec) so I diluted it down a bit and both plants are looking great today so idk how much it’ll really help but it doesn’t seem to have hurt.
This strain is great, this is my first time smoking it and it’s just such a nice high. It’s euphoric and numbing without causing drowsiness. It’s potent too and a bit inebriating. Great evening strain to relax after a long day.
Not a huge yield with this girl at 24g but I wasn’t surprised by that since it was such a tiny plant. That’s the only downside though, otherwise I was blown away with this plant, it finished exactly at day 70 so it was pretty quick which is typical with fastbuds genetics. The flowers were gorgeous and caked with frost, the photos don’t do it justice. If I had it my way I would’ve let it go another week based on the trichomes but the medium was spent and she was dying on me so I didn’t want to risk mold. I can’t fault the genetics on that though, this was my first organic grow and I really just should’ve fed it once more a couple weeks ago. It dried a bit too quickly, the combination of dry weather here and just how small the plant was finished it up in a bit over a week. I’m excited to grow this strain again when I decide to run autos again.
Gonna be some smooth and heavy stuff after curing my friend. Keep up the amazing progress. Good luck stay safe and happy growing. If you have a moment please leave your vote on my YOU DECIDE diary please and thank you.
