Got enough space in the tent and just thought, "why not?" So now I've got 6x Gelato regs running alongside my 2x ChemP autos and my banana daddy. Don't know what the plan is quite yet with these beans, but I need a minimum of 2 females to get my flower tent full by December. I did another run of Gelato a few years back of the same beans if you'd like to check it out :).
Other than all that, I'm excited for the weeks to come! Cheers fellow growers 😌 hope you all have a wonderful day, driven with growth!
Got a little lanky during this week, had a few of them topple so I gave them support. They're all growing very strong and healthy though, so no big deal. I expected the plant in the fabric pot to be further along than the rest, but surprisingly one of the black pot girls seems to be outperforming her. I tested these Genetics three years ago and those plants came out incredibly. Super strong. Remember! We need a minimum of 2/6 females for a happy December and January! Shouldn't be a problem, I have about 50 of these beans ready to swap out just in case 😜
Cheers everyone, growing cannabis has become my second favorite past-time - aside from music production. 🎶
It's been fun innovating, doing sponsored grows, and learning more about the plant than I ever expected to. Next spring, I'm planning on building a fully modular outdoor port-a-pot for an outdoor run - garden netting and all. Been collecting PVC for months in anticipation. You may see one of these babies in that come spring! So stay tuned! 😎
Only having issues with the plant in the white pot. It has a really light green pigment. I might hit these babies with some terp tea before the week ends. I just dust it on top of the soil and water it in. Works every time! I've given them all mykos and have been keeping the soil saturated. So they should respond well when it's time for me to feed them 😌
As these are regs, I've got to be on the lookout in the coming weeks as to what is male vs female. And sadly, I'll be killing the males. I have no use for them sadly 😔 I'm just wishfully hoping I get 4/6 fem.
Cheers everyone 😎😊
In my experience, seedlings that grow a more pale tone end up becoming males. And it's looking like 4/6 are exhibiting that trait... Hopefully not, though. The white pot runt will likely be killed before it even gets to sexing because it's too slow for my liking. Only plant that's looking viable to me right now is the bag pot plant. I topped it and hopefully the stress will cause it to show it's sex a bit sooner. Either way, I'll take any amount of these Gelato plants because it's a really good strain. Especially when you've got a strong female of it.
They all bounced back after a nice feeding! Going to top at every node from here on out. If I would have topped the lanky ones a bit sooner they wouldn't be almost outgrowing the tent already like they are. I'm thinking about sending the tall ones into the flower tent with a transplant. They're super healthy and give me female vibes(wider leaves, smelly stalk). If I do send them to the flowering tent, I'll create individual journals for them to track their progress separate from this mother hunt grow.
Cheers everyone! And happy holidays 😊
Very eventful past 2 weeks, I've sent three into the flower tent already! With those, any that end up becoming a female will get their own diary dedicated to their growth, separately. Same with the remaining plants. One is already a confirmed female.
The remaining three are ready for flower as is, but I just want to top them a few more times. I've gotten each to 8-12 tops. 20 is preferred. So these will likely be the last two weeks for this diary! I won't be mothering any of these plants as I've got better stuff on the way, so straight to flower with them.
Update: 2 males so far. I planted 1 from the veg tent In place of the male earlier in the week. That one popped balls as well! So its straight to the compost bin with him, unfortunately. I've got two more to sex, so hopefully they're both female. So far it's half male, half female.
This marks the last week for this journal! All the plants have been moved to the flowering tent and any resulting females will get their own journal dedicated to them.
Any weed out the weak journal where you get even 1 female is a success in my book, so I can't complain. I even got the runt of this grow to take off faster than the others... even though it ended up being male (white pot). Nonetheless I feel like I've learned a lot more this round about feeding with organics. Learned how to maintain a nice, green canopy throughout veg, and when the best time to train is.
Stay on the lookout for my Gelato grows if you'd like to see these girls in flowering action!
Cheers everyone, signing off for now 😶🌫️
