Hi guys,
This week is an amazing week because we have some lessons to learn here. Listen closely if you are having trouble harvesting at the right time and feel uncertain if your buds will go bigger or tighter in late flowering.
Just like every phase of plant growth, late flowering is a very important period in a plant's life. We need to give them the best care in every week to get the best result. Commonly, people just watch what happens in the late flowering because their plants flowered and produced nice nugs already so they feel like they can't change anything at this very late stage. Well, there is one more thing you can do at this point: Just wait some more 😅
My plants are already in their late flowering and some of them started showing white pistils. The PinkKushxPurplePunch breed has a lot of new pistils going on and the Pink Kush plants also have a few. Not all but some strains do that and they are mostly sativa or haze kinds. In our case, we don't have a sativa or any haze. So what is the reason behind all these new white pistils?
These plants are grown with a professionally controlled setup and extra care. They had everything they needed except... Pollination. Well, we don't want them to pollinate but by nature, all your female plants desire pollination and they grow their flowers in a way that they maximize the chances. In our case, this is the reason.
These plants decided to increase the surface area by producing new white pistils to increase their chances of getting pollinated for one last time. There is no brand new flowering period beginning here, we are just talking about an extra week or two.
These babies are in their 54th day of flowering and according to most data sheets of most indica strains, flowering should be ended in 8-9 weeks after the flip. In our case, it will be a full nine or ten weeks before the harvest. My guess is ten weeks. Pistils are still cloudy and there are some clear ones. No amber yet. I'll start sharing macro trichome shots next week.
I was planning to harvest them earlier than it should be. With a little more patience, I think I'll pull of 800 grams of dried and trimmed buds here.
Happy growing 💪
@gottagrowsometime,
Hi there mate thanks for checking in,
This grow was definitely a good one. The overall bud quality is very high. You can follow the methods to get a similar result.
I'm on the messenger. See ya there ✋
Parli di CO2 e PPFD, ci fai vedere qualche misurazione di questi parametri? Così impariamo le tecniche professionali anche noi! Se raccoglierai 1,5g/W, sarai da guinness dei primati!! Buona Vita a te! Gilgamesh
@Gilgamesh15,
Hi, thanks for checking in Gilgamesh 👋
I can share some pictures in a couple of days. I got a CO2 meter and a quantum PAR sensor. We'll take a ride through the canopy.
I did collected 1.5 grams/W before. When you got enough plants and the settings dialed you can get this kind of harvest. I suggest a tight SOG type of grow to get the highest yield. Or you can grow your plants vertically like I do and fill the canopy with bud sites. This way you can get even higher yield but SOG grows are way more time efficient.
Another thing to note here is that I'm feeding these plants only with main nutrients. No bloom booster is being used. Just AB fertilizers and weekly Silica feeding. I'm trying to get a high yield regardless of these highly marketed nutrients. Settings are everything and I'm sure that I can collect more than 800 grams of dried and trimmed buds from here. Aim is to get 900-1000 grams. We'll see how things turn out. There is nothing certain here and we still got 10-12 days to go.
Happy growing 💪
