Hi fellow growers. I'm here with a fully organic grow with Barney's Farm genetics and soil. These strains are killer, especially the Pink Kush and Dr. Grinspoon.
We had some trouble popping our only Dr. Grinspoon seed but we managed to get the taproot and plant it successfully. First, we had to scarify the seed, which is just basically thinning the seed shell with sandpaper. Than we had to crack it with a knife to free the sprout after getting the taproot. We planted her pretty naked 😂
Pink Kush plants were two clones from my 2.5 year old bonsai mother plant. They are taken from a proven mother and frost amount will definitely be huge on these plants.
Organic nutes doesn't mean more harvest but more quality in my experience. A lot of times, I managed to get organic quality products using mineral nutes but organic is pretty easy to use if you don't have much time dealing with hydroponics and mineral nutrients. This grow is a very low maintenance grow compared to most of my work. Quality is assured and I hope we can yield enough to make everyone smile 😇
So fellas, I'm not typing in any higher PPM levels simply because you can't measure all the ingredients inside an organic nutrient with an EC(TDS) meter. This value will stay steady, but we will keep adding more nutes to feed our plants properly.
Fish Mix and Mykos are doing their jobs amazing and I added a little BioHeaven to help with the growth. Soil is Plagron's Bat Mix, which is organic and keeps the medium fertilised for a couple of weeks. However I don't trust that is enough and started adding a few nutes with Mykos just to enhance the micro life under the top layer. This way, roots can grow bigger and they make more nutrients available for the plants.
💪
Simple training is going on and I feel no need to explain these steps. Cheers
Plants are thriving and I'm glad to see that the Dr. Grinspoon is a very agressive vegger. She is growing like crazy and she will be the biggest one in this batch. I am increasing the ratio on the Fish Mix and Bio Heaven to promote more growth. I was adding very few Bio Heaven earlier but now we can benefit from it even better.
Flip is near. See you guys soon 💪
I stopped using Mykos this week because the mycorrhiza colony can sustain their activity in organic soil unlike other hydroponic mediums. Simple training and defoliation is going on and there is nothing special about it.
Proper feeding and care will make these plants blast soon. I increased the fertilizer amount to give them a boost. Some of them seem hungry to me.
I'm adding the second LED because now is the time. I'm using an earlier 320W version of the LEDWisdom Rosa 400W grow light. Total flowering light wattage is less then 650W. We'll see how much can it help with our organic yield, which tends to be lower compared to mineral nutes and hydroponics.
I usually harvest more than 1.3 grams/W and I got a maximum of 1.5 grams/W with average yielding strains using hydroponic growing medium. If we can come close to 1 grams per Watt in this organic grow, that will be killer because these plants are not too big and there will be no weak or low quality buds. All of the stuff will be absolute top shelf!
Happy growing folks. Always keep your nugs frosty and dense 💪
This is the transition week. Lights are 12/12 but nutes are still in the veg. program. This way I'm promoting more growth instead of forcing my plants artificially into instant flowering.
If your plants want to stretch to make bigger bud sites, then you must use veg nutes on the first week of the bloom. If they show pistils or flowering signs, then you can start giving them bloom program. Always trust your logic, not on the labels on the bottles.
Some more defoliation and bending has been done. We'll see some pistils next week. Barney's tell us that Dr. Grinspoon has a very long flowering time. We'll start observing some hints on the harvest time in a few weeks.
Literally no maintenance on this grow. Plants are rather small and only the Cookies Kush needed some work. Not to count the very hard to pop Dr. Grinspoon seed 😂
We now switched to bloom feeding program. I got BioBloom but I'll swap to General Hydroponics GO Thrive Bloom next week. I'll also add GO Bud which is a bloom booster from General Hydroponics.
Pistils are here guys and even if this is the second week of flowering, it is the FIRST for me. I start counting bloom weeks after plants show some pistils. Isn't this make more sense? Just because you flipped the lights to 12 hours doesn't necessarily mean that your plants are flowering.
If you are not checking trichomes for the harvest time, then you are wasting a great effort and time you invested on growing a plant. Always check 💪
Bloom nutrients are swapped with General Hydroponics GO Thrive Bloom and GO Bud. I am still using BioHeaven and occasionally adding Mykos to sustain the micro life underground. Plants will react to the bloom booster pretty dramatic. Just watch them blast fellas.
Happy growing 💪
I'm always keeping my plants trimmed because these strains produce leaves anyway. Clipping out the fan leaves that block the bud sites is the best thing you can do. Plants are producing some nugs and after switching to my main bloom nutrients, I am pretty happy with the results. I don't have the whole BioBizz line and General Hydroponics GO Organic line. I just use the main nutrient and a bloom booster. However there is no equivalent of Bio Heaven on General Hydroponics. I like this product and use it all the way. I cut down on BioHeaven when the late flowering comes.
Happy growing. Keep checking the next weeks for some great buds. Cheers.
By looking into this weeks photos, I can tell that we will see some colas next week. Things are going great with the feeding program and lights are just kicking ass. No CO2 enhancement in the room and the lights are pretty far from the plants. This way I can ensure an amazing uniform coverage. All nugs are filling up great and the smell is too strong. Dr. Grinspoon smells like GAS. Pink Kush smells so stinky and dense. Cookies Kush smells sugary and aromatic. We'll have two great Kush and an amazing sativa in the end.
This week has been amazing. I'm up to see what comes next. Feeding them with the same formula. They are doing great. Not much to tell for this week in particular, except the buds are getting in shape greatly. Next week will kill it. Smell is already too strong. Carbon filter is helping a lot but when I open the tent... Dangggg...
Buds have expanded like never before in this grow. I'm expecting a leap next week and after that, I'll wait for these buds to get bulkier and more dense. I think we got 3 more weeks for the Cookies Kush and the Pink Kush plants. Dr. Grinspoon is still a mystery but I don't think I'll flower that baby for 11 weeks. I'll check the trichomes and next week, we'll start checking them. Then we can tell if the harvest is near or not.
Happy growing 😎
We got a lot of photos this week. Some close up bud shots as well as some trichome shots. We still have time, I can say at least two weeks. I like to get some amber in the trichomes like 5-10 percent, just to increase the mindfuck effect of the buds. I have very high tolerance so no couch lock for me. I need heavy meds and if you need them as well, just wait for %5-15 amber and you will get the most out of your meds.
Happy growing folks. Check next weeks for the late bloom and harvest joy 😎
I've reviewed this strain earlier but here is another one. This is definitely not for beginners or non frequent smokers. I wake and bake some Pink Kush every day but I don't recommend anyone without a very high tolerance. True indica fire and I'm keeping my pheno alive for more than 2 years. Give this a try if you need heavy stuff.
Plants are harvested in the dark cycle and I left them drying as they are for two days. After that I cut the stems and trimmed the leaves. They were nicely dried in a total of seven days. Now they are stored in vacuum bags and waiting to be blazed.
This was one of my side grows so I didn't have too much time dealing with these plants. This grow could have yielded a little more if I had the time but the quality is here. I can't imagine better buds thanks to %100 organic line up. I filled my stash with three top shelf strains and I'm planning to make some hash and BHO as well. This was a very colorful grow and we had some trouble on the way but I'm sure everybody agrees that quality is over quantity.
Try to grow both of these three strains and you'll make yourself a stash that suits every need. Happy growing everybody 💪
Overall experience is great. Buds are frosty and the smell is heavenly. Sweet and earthy taste is dominant and the sugary smell is like walking in front of a cotton candy machine. Pretty good strain to try. My plant was very bushy so training is not very easy and you better trim these plants before flowering or things might go very sticky.
I'm sharing some dried Pink Kush buds. I'll share Dr. Grinspoon buds and Cookies Kush buds on the harvest week for Dr.Grinspoon. I didn't have the time to deal with pictures but I got some nice ones from the Pink Kush. All buds look alike, very dense and coked out. No need to share all buds because I used great lighting that led to a uniform result with a very high quality.
Pictures speak for themselves. Pink Kush is one of the best indicas available. Cookies Kush is very aromatic and flavorful. Also highly recommended. Just treat the Cookies Kush so it stretches a little. Without stretch, this plant can literally grow into a very thick bush. Heavy trimming is essential.
Happy growing 💪
@BioBuds,
Thanks BioBuds. Harvest taste and hit amazing. Feeling the organic soil heavens vibe. We all should grow organic once in a while.
Happy growing mate 💪
@Mz876,
Hi Mz876, thank you for your kind words. My pheno of this Pink Kush always produces frosty buds. I crossed this strain with the Purple Punch and it is also amazing by all means. I think Pink Kush is a gem for breeding but I am not sure if there are multiple phenos. Maybe @Barneys, can answer this question for us. I don't know if they see this but let's try 😎
@Collinsy74,
Hey Collinsy, thank you for your kind words. I'll check on your diaries as well. I'm sure mimosaxorange should kick some serious ass. Best of luck in your grows mate 💪
Top shelf stuff. Great job here man. Also a great yield with organic fertilizers. Your lights are killin it. Why didn't you fit some more plants in there? There is so much empty space in the grow tent. You can't complain though the harvest looks more than satisfying 👏👏👏👏👏
@pro_grower,
Indeed mate. Thank you.
This was not one of my grows. I just supervised this one and there was sure more room. If it was up to me, we would have seen 9 great plants harvested from this tent.
Cheers 💪
