Both plants doing well and showing their pre-flowers.
It's been a rainy week, so not as much growth as id like to see; those are just the pitfalls of outdoor growing though.
Pests are at a minimum, I've been trying to encourage predatory insects into my garden this year.
LST going pretty good; I was lazy off the jump so my main stems aren't as bent over as id like.
I'd say there is appox. two more weeks of veg left for me.
I would take that shell off i lost 2 because of the shell not falling off good luck with her Dinafem is a bad ass source she shoukd reward u well with a lil TLC๐๐๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐ฒ
@SunBeam, to each their own! Nothing wrong with gently helping the shells come off if they won't budge on their own. I too have lost a seedling when I didn't help it out so I just watch very carefully if one doesn't pop on it's own. Good luck!
@MUDBUG,
Hey MUDBUG,
Thanks for the reply!
Personally I never touch my seedlings; I feel they do the best without any outside influence.
I also believe that prematurely removing a seed shell just results in trauma to the young seedlings, Unless you've got surgically steady hands you'll be creating unwanted vertical and horizontal forces that will act on the delicate tap root.
The seed shells have since fallen off; I'm going to take some week 2 pictures today~
Thanks for the concern, and I agree Dinafem has some strong genetics!
Hi @SunBeam, that's definitely a pH issue (just kidding!). Do you spray anything onto your plants? I'd recommend to avoid spraying unless it's really necessary (to kill bugs or feed an over-watered plant). Also, your soil mix might be a bit "hot" for such young babies, I would avoid any nutrients-intakes until she looks healthy again. This could also come from your last transplantation, if you shocked roots and/or if substrate has changed. Finally, make sure you don't have any bugs/mites/spiders around, a bug invasion can lead to twisted growth / weird looking plant. Hope this helps, keep us up-to-date and happy growing! ๐
@Stick,
Thanks for the reply.
I've come to the conclusion that the growth is most likely genetic.
I wouldn't rule out your possibilities either; we'll have to see if she turns around.
Ill try to grow this strain from Dinafem in the future, outdoor too, hope you the best, so you can show us what she can do, where are you located aprox?
If you continue to have mite problems, check out neem oil! Very strong stuff that you foliar spray all over, bugs hate it. Could also plant your own but I imagine the spray is much more effective. If you decide to use it, use lightly and only at night or as the sun is going down or you risk burning them. ๐
Another Dinafem grow up and running on the grow diary platform :)
So far looking very nice. Healthy seedlings and ready to be re-potted into bigger lots to spread those roots out :)
Good luck my friend. We will be watching with interest :)
All the best
Mark..
@Kindbudz,
Thanks for the reply.
I'll have to disagree on the overwatering/over-potting diagnosis.
Overwatering is almost always coupled by wilting and "chubby" leaves; I see neither here.
Like you've said hopefully she just grows out of it.
@SunBeam, yeah as I said before I e seen this from time to time and almost always it was on a plant that initially had a hard time shedding its seed shell. Iโm sure the abnormal growth will subside and you will have some healthy plants growing soon.
@athos,
Thanks for the reply, although it doesn't seem like you've even looked at my previous diary weeks.
I respectfully disagree with your diagnosis.
Nice plant !
If the Abnormal growth is happening with stunted growth sometimes xtra phosphorus can help along with iron for the slight chlorosis it could simply be a chlorophyl issue that doesn't cause any real problems other than reduction or confused cellular production during that period of time..?
S2 does look to have a slightly mutant structure to those leaves which I have seen before if the medium is to hot(to much feed) or if to much feed is given early on.
Lets see how she grows over the next couple of weeks as I have a feeling that normal growth will resume :)
All the best
Mark..
@SunBeam, You have 2 plants that will need to be attended different. What plant 1 likes plant 2 May not ๐
How are things going since your last update mate?
We hope all is well?
All the best
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds,
Thanks for the reply.
Both plants are in the same mix, same water, same amount of perlite, no extra feed; personally i've never seen it before.
The mix should be hot for both S.1 and S.2; shouldn't it?
