My first week with my first grow was like my first week with my first kid. I can't stop checking on it, even though I can't tell if there's anything wrong anyways🤣
Anyone with previous experience, what's the minimum/optimum size pump for my air bubbler? I have a cheapo single line pump, I'm assuming it's enough but not optimum. Can anyone put a number on it in cfm? Is more always better? At what point do you reach diminishing returns?
Depending on your set up you just need to be able to provide enough oxygen for your plants roots. I have used a single DWC pot and a cheapo airpump with no issues. I’d say the cheap one would have struggle to provide for anymore than two or three plants. If your doing more than one plant you can buy pumps with multiple airlines on them.
If you put your bubbler in the pot with the airpump attached and you see plenty of bubbles floating to the top you’ll be fine. I’m currently using my cheap pump to oxygenate a 30L res… Good Luck
I just put my seedling in the dwc bucket. GH nutrients. I just used the directions for a light feeding of diamond nectar, but dialed everything else back. Can too much humic acid be bad? How much is too much for a seedling?
Yes it can Cause ph problems humic acid is normally at a pH of 6 . Also can cause a lockout too . just give her some fresh pH water for now and see how she goes but I'm sure she will bounce back. I iuse humic acid plus in all grows . x
Switched to Lucas formula with a hint of grow. I tried straight Lucas formula, but I went from signs of nitrogen toxicity to signs of deficiency, so I throw a lil grow in
Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with the nutrients and environment. I'm still dialing everything in, so sometimes it would change day to day. I tried to switch to Lucas formula in early flower, but it didn't like it. Low and slow works, but when it ramps up growth, it doesn't mind a little extra nutrients, especially since I'm home with it all day (plenty of CO2) Next time I grow this strain, I'm going to go a little heavier on defoliating during the stretch to keep the nodes a little closer. Also interested in a bloom boat or ripening product, wondering if an auto could even take it?

@Lickey, thx. I did plenty of research before and during. I'm at home with a back injury, so my wife bought me all my equipment. I literally spent 2 months learning before I bought anything, and I still wound up getting an underpowered light and vent fan. I upgraded my fan and added a carbon filter for my wife's sake. I had a friend tell me it was overkill and I was probably going to kill my first plant anyway. He said just put a seed in some dirt and figure the rest out later. So glad I didn't take that advice!
Good luck man! I would get those lights closer 150W will need to be a lot closer to provide good PAR level to the tops of your plants. Are they auto flower ?
@LegacyMarketFarm, yeah, it's an autoflower. It'd be slightly underpowered for this size tent with a photo, but with an autoflower, I can crank it up and keep it higher to get the better spread.

I'm about 10 days from planting seeds and can't imagine being that far in another 2 weeks.
It's my first grow so maybe I am underestimating my plants future growth. Or maybe full hydroponics provides that much boost?
I am using coco/perlite. And now I am rambling lol ANYWAY

@Capo420, don't worry so much. These things are pretty resilient. Even without going full hydro, you'll benefit from rapid growth and fast recovery. I snapped my plant in half because I tied the pipe cleaners down too hard 😅 it would probably be bigger if I hadn't, but I taped it back together for like a week and you wouldn't notice unless you were looking for it
