Do you believe in karma? This was meant to be a Panama run. But I lost all my seeds. They all sprouted but died!! No Panama for this time... So this will be a Zamaldelica grow. ACE's Zamaldelica is still a fine lady, originating from a Zamal and Golden tiger (thai x malawi I think..) So far I have 1 seedling of 4 days old, just dropped 2 more seeds Tuesday one is open so I will put them in soil later tonight...

We have 3 Zamaldelica!! woot-wooot! First plant is 2 weeks old. **** I am putting a lid with a hole on top of my pot to keep humidity in soil longer. Too dry here... Usually with transparent lids, direct light is enough to avoid fungus. On the other day I spotted some weird yellow-orange sprouting fungus. Did not look like micelium at all. I should have took a picture for documentation. Looked very unfriendly. I scooped off the area, put new soil and cleaned the lid. Keeping a close eye, but I can't see any others so far... This had me done some research and led me to Slime Mold, witch seems to be friendlier than I tough!! Slime Mold is alive, it moves... do we have a Living soil here or what?!!! https://www.tallahassee.com/story/life/home-garden/2018/09/20/aint-afraid-no-slime-mold/1351847002/

These Zamaldelica plants screams SATIVA!!! Genetic is nothing but sativa! Consequences: fast veg, and early signs of strong branching out. ... I should have start a week or 2 later, those won't need too much time in vegetation. Side branches coming out at this stage will give a chance for bottom ones to grow at same paste as the top. Light cycle in the grow box they were in was swapped to 12-12, on an opposite schedule. Plants are moved from tent to grow box twice a day.

One Sativa Lover, trying to make 3 Zamaldelica happy growing in a tent... By now, I can tell Plant 1 is different and not only because she is a week older. 2 & 3 would be similar. In the picture, they are kindly bending over in the light direction, but these young plants are already receiving a LOT of light... same amount as blooming mature plants, 600w hps half of day and 240w qb in a small grow box the other half... ...Instead of showing *praying leaves* to avoid direct exposure, they reach for it like sunflowers!!! By now, I expected side branches to grow taller on plant 1 but they only grew about half an inch this week (8 days). Not sure how to deal with her and the 2 sisters that stays short. I hate SCROGing. It result in popcorn buds. And I don't want her to grow too large, I only have 4x4, for 3 Zamaldelica. Maybe I'll have to flip early because of her. I still don't know what to do with her. She looks like a stretcher. (Thai dominant maybe if I am lucky)

Last week, I was worry about these plants being to much different in height. Well this week things just continued that way. Don't need to be a master grower to see it: plant 1 is a Sativa with medium long inter nodes spaces, flexible stem, and a stretcher... Plants 2 and 3 are short, bushy, compact with very short inter nodes space. However I treat them they are not stretching: removing windstress, raising light, dimming light... They remain dwarfs. So plan is to let hem go as their is nothing much I can do. I'll might raise them later in flower to have an even canopy in the tent. All plants were transplanted in 2 gal containers. Plant 1 got buried down to the first node, second was removed and she just got topped leaving her with 5 nodes, potentially 10 main branches. She should be tall and large witch should compensate for her 2 sisters. Maybe I will keep plant 2 and 3 longer in vedge, plant 1 being very close to be ready for flip.

I Love growing marijuana. I really do. Even if I sit on much more than I can smoke by myself, I am always on the hunt for something special, new and exciting. This week all 3 plants developed the same mutation. On each plant, one bottom branch is now growing with 3 set of leaves. This made me believe I had some polyploids branches, but after talking to other growers and Luis from ACE, mutations would be closer to whorled phyllotaxy. It will be interesting to see how flowers develop. For what I can see, the stems and petiole seem be more brittle and thin, not sure it is a beneficial mutation. Maybe as they grow and mature branches will get thicker and sturdier. Let me know if you have any experience with this 😉! Also, taking a moment to make a side by side pheno comparison: You can see how I am in a pickle with these completely different sizes and structure😯😮😱. Plant 1 is the sativa phenotype I was dreaming off. Plant 2 and 3... well I don't know what's going on!! ( I wish Luis at ACE would have gave me a few comments on them but he only respond to my questions about mutations). They look like indica hybrids but problem is after triple check Zamaldelica are pure sativa. I am keeping them only because they are ACE seeds. ACE always gave me good results. Gotta keep faith!! I really wish I could transplant the tallest but I don't have any large ones for her. Gotta wait for the next grow to harvest.

Plant 1 was kindly transplanted in the remaining container fallowing the removal of Bad Azz Kush. Poor plant was root bounded A-F. Soil was amended with Kelp meal, basalt rock dust and gypsum. She was immediately sent to flower. I think she'll need a longer time, and she was tall enough for an indoor plant. I expect her to grow up to the roof of my tent =). She continues to progress with weird branching out. Now her 2 main tops are growing this way. Notice the 2 last pictures: the *normal* branch is the opposite as the other *mutant*. Nice musky smell, but very flexible stems. Looking forward the next weeks =) Plant 2 & 3 are like twins. Old school Christmas tree - palm tree like structure with short internode space. They should be large and fat, maybe larger than high. They really need a transplant too. Gonna try to find some containers this week end. Because of their different vigour and growth rate compare to plant 1, their mutations effects are not very visible yet.

All 3 Zamaldelica are reunited for bloom. Plant 1 is the tall, slender, racy wild Sativa I've been dreaming of. Standing at nearly 33 inches, she is just starting to show pre-flowers. This is week 2 after flip for herStill a few days before the real stretch begins. She will be a queen. Plant 2 and 3 were transplanted last Sunday after harvesting the All Gaz Og. Soil was amended with Kelp meal, Gypsum and Basalt rock dust. I can already tell it was not enough, seeing some K def before flower starts to grow. Not easy to manage and understand the needs of lower feeding strains. Always looking for minor signs of deficiency without knowing if they are nute burns. With heavy feeding strains, I would just pack the soil and wait. This is especially harder with recycled soil. I can check soil ppm, but it does not tell what is missing. Plant 3 showing some pre-flowers is pretty early, 6 days after flip.

Second week since flower formation. Every plant had a very light selective defoliation, and a few lower nodes were removed. While last week every plant were almost at the same timeline, this week we can see plant 1 is developing faster and stronger. Plant 1 needed some training to control the height and lower it's canopy. I hate doing this, I Love to let the plants grow as natural as possible so they can express their natural shape. I still don't know if it was necessary, but I am ready for more stretch. Right now, the distance between tops and lamp is at it's best. I still can raise the lamp, or swap it for some LED boards and have even more room for stretch. Plant 2 & 3 are still looking like twins. Slower bud formation. Reading breeder's description, I think these are the most frequent phenotype.

All 3 plants are looking elegant and delicate, very sativa. Plant 1 is 4 ft tall, I think stretch is mostly done, maybe a few more inches with bud formation that will be compensated by the natural bending with weight. Overall height should remain about the same. All 4 main branches are measuring over 40 inches, while they were only 3-4 inches before flip. The branch that developed a mutation seems to be forming a bud with the fascination look of a triploid. Plant 2 adapts pretty well to the remaining space. Horizontal branches grows with vigour at 45° angle. Plant 3, her rootball was damaged during transplant and it shows. She drinks very little and containers weight remain heavy. She will be the runt plant.

Plants are huge and vigorous! I did not see that coming. I would have flipped earlier. Plant 1 did grew an other 6-8 inches. She smells like Killer A5: haze, woody, oily, carrot...Damn!! 😍 She was large enough that she was putting the 2 others in the shade. Plant 1 is too large to move so she stayed in the same tent just got centred a bit, a she fit there perfectly!! Light was swapped with two 240w QB style board. A few days ago, plant 2 and 3 got moved in the other tent, and remained under the same light. Once they got established, they really are using the full space. So I have 32 sq ft of Zamaldelica..

What a fun and easy care grow! (As long as you have space and light to adapt) Last week, plants where splits in 2 tents. plant 2 & 3 remained under the Hps, and the extra heat is used to bring some warmth in these cold Canadian winter night. Consequence is, night temps are a few degree hotter than day temps for plant 1. She is huge. Showing some potential P def this week on 2 leaves. With one branch that developed a polyploid mutation, she is definitely growing a bud with fascination structure. I am aware that a polyploid plant is way hungier than a regular diploid plant. In fact plant 1 would be considered a mixoploid plant. Like I said she is big, and I expect her to balance overall feedings. Still I am keeping a close eye on any progression. Plant 2 is different than plant 3. At flip they looked like sisters, but now they are very different. Plant 2 have best indoor adaptability of all. She is compact and grows tight colas. Her trifoliated branch is from the 2nd node so I think she lacks of natural hormones to express pronounced fascination bud structure. Plant 3 is wide with impressive, almost vertical, sub-branches that grows with great vigour. She is wider than tall. Her trifoliated brach was removed at flip because it was the first node, and it wouldn't have reached canopy.

OK folks... A lot to comment about these 2 weeks. Let's start with the controversy. Maybe I will not make friends here, but plant 1 is NOT! polyploid (and or mixoploid). Sadly, there is a lot of controversial information on cannabis polyploidism on the web. A lot of people are confusing Fascination mutation with Polyploidism, and Whorled phyllotaxy. After extensive readings on all these mutations on OTHER plants than cannabis, here are my conclusions: Polyploidism is havin extra chromosome, and it does not express itself with an extra leaf. This would be having a gene mutation. Now, fascination will make the stem funky with stem and leaf pattern comparable to whorled phyllotaxy. However, whorled phyllotaxy is not fascination. Conclusion are, plant 2 and 3 are having whorled phyllotaxy on a few branches, and plant 1 is having fascination on a distinctive branch. Fascination is caused by environment, genetic or rhodococcus fascians bacteria. It is passable trough cloning but is not considered a desired mutation. I wrote to Luis at ACE seeds to apologise. ******************************************* ******************************************* NOW!!! Plant 1: deficiencies are progressing despite triple dose 12-28-12, Canna coco A+B, and potassium sulphate. It is barely under control. As I am doing No-Till gardening, guess are she is a nute whore, and soil was probably more drained from previous hungry plants that grew in that very same container before. I am disappointed by her skinny main colas and her resin production. I think she is Malawi dominant according to smell, structure and laves. Plant 2: she is the runt one but that will have the most compact flowers. Plant 3: she is very elegant with *never seen before* elongated thin bud structure: could she be Thai dominant? She is having the most resin of all.

An other week went by. I have all the time and patience to wait until everyone is ready. Plant 1 Maturation have begun. About 10% of her pistols have turned amber and I think she is about 3 to 4 weeks away from chop. She looks and smell like Malawi pheno #3 previously grown. Very, very potent smoke ahead. Plant 2 will be the first to go down has she is ripening slowly but surely. Mango fruity peppery smell. Plant 3 shows no signs of stopping and looks like she is under half way done. Still, she is showing some type of light stress, and she would benefited of a stake job and dimmed light.

Plant 1, the massive, thin elegant Sativa. Her buds are swelling like crazy! Smell is tropical like Malawi, with vanilla and decaying petal notes. She is constantly reflowering and required a 3rd round of staking. At least 3-4 weeks Plant 2, the runt one. She is ripening nicely. Trichomes and frost are becoming more visible. Smell is really like carrot. I've been removing a few bananas maybe 5 or 6 in the last weeks. Still manageable. About 2 more weeks. Plant 3 is also a monstrous Sativa plant. Her colas are some of the nicest I've grown! They are mostly made of masses of white hair. Looks like she has a long time to go. Smell is mango carrot.

This is the end of the adventure for Zamaldelica 1 and 2, as they both got pissed off and are pushing bananas like a full blown male. Not what I expected and wanted. Still, despite a few missed diary entry, light where switch to 11-13 on January 14th. They have been going for a long time already. Plant 1: it really went downhill for her this week. She is still reflowering with no signs of stopping. Bananas are everywhere. I will try to push her an other week. Plant 2: she is getting chopped anytime soon. Plant 3: still stable, still a long way to go.

This week, plants have been welcoming me home with a nice smell coming from the tent. They are finishing in beauty. Plant 1 really took advantage of this week to finish swelling up and adding an extra layer of frost. trichomes are visually bigger and miliky. One more week. At this point I don't care about bananas anymore. plant 2 got chopped. Plant 3 is starting to mature nicely too. Frost become visible and some hair are turning brown. About 10 to 14 days left.

Last update for Zamaldelica. Last one standing is phenotype 3, who turned out into a monster. She smells like cat piss and mango. She is no drinking a lot and this is a sign she should be chopped.... Buds are airy with constant reflowering, probably showing some Thai genetics. Very sticky. Last week, plant 1 was chopped after some hyphae like filament were found randomly in a bud. In case of a potential botrytis infection, a deep inspection did not found any suspected molding parts, but still she was kindly hung to dry with a gentle breeze of fresh air surrounding her. She was ready anyway. At 13 weeks of flowering, she had a lot of bananas, all her fan leaves were fried, trichome's heads had swollen and turned milky. Plant 2 was chopped 3 weeks ago.
