All of my seeds from rocketseeds, breed is popped. No idea the breeder but I am satisfied with the germination rate. This is a 2nd attempt as my first attempt became a moldy mess due to many many user errors.
EDIT 12/24/21 Germed more seeds. One of the green crack just never sprouted from the soil. Updated totals to reflect. Soaked in water for 18hrs then transfered to paper towel. Also pretty sure the Green Crack Auto are from Crop King and the AK47 is from Beaver Seeds.
This week seems to have no major issues from my noobie perspective besides one seed not sprouting. I will possible replace it with a Lambs Breath Auto from Crop King Seeds if within a reasonable amount of time there isn't any signs of life. Another minor issue is helmet head with one of the sprouts but I think it is pushing the membrane off. I have been misting that sprout after the lights go out and that seems to show a little improvement the day after.
EDIT:
12/15 Going to add an AK-47 and lambs breath this week to see how it goes. I also realize I probably need some names for the plants so ill work on that
12/25 Added Ak-47, Lambs Breath and a Critical 2.0 autoflowers at their first week. Noticed small issue with Critically. a leaf seems to have either stopped growing early or broken off with the shell. Will watch closely.
If a seedlings round leaf were to have fallen off with the seed shell in a whitish yellowish color but it was just a single round leaf and the rest of the plant seems healthy would that seriously impact the plant? Thank you for any help!
The purpose of the first leaves is to feed the baby plant for first week as roots developed. Is why they say don't feed for first 7 to 10 days just water. If you are in soil you will be fine. Keep conditions ideal for her, and I don't see it causing any issues. If in a hydro or soilless it might need super light nutrition a pinch sooner. Good luck and happy growing 🌱🌱🌱
Decided to add a new seed in place of one that never sprouted plus one. Also probably going to add a fifth plant at some point. I have added AK47, Lambs Breath and will add some Critical + 2.0 Auto's. This week in regards to the current plants seems to be going alright in my opinon. The only real concern I have for this week is the deformed plant not growing three leaves but two. I am very happy with the progress on the larger plant though.
EDIT For 2nd batch
The other set of seeds are going very well. Bob Marley is the furthest with it going very quickly compared to the rest. Having all these strains and genetics is kind of cool because they each grow differently and you can see it even visually with the leaves. Very excited to see where these girls head. Did notice some weird stuff with Chernobyl leaves but am going to wait till it grows out to see how it goes.
Figured out the names of the plants this week. The fastest growing one so far is Jumbo, the deformed seed head one is Dumbo, the AK47 is named Chernobyl, the Lambs Breath is called Bob and last but not least the Critical 2.0 is Criticality.
I wound up overwatering a little I believe as the leaves dropped for a few hours but after the soil dried the plants perked right back up, so lesson learned :)
I am so far very pleased with how Jumbo is growing and smelling so far. Dumbo has also seemed to have recovered from the seed head issue and its new leaves seem absolutely normal alongside the speed of the growth being normal.
EDIT: Elected to start LST in preperation for a trellis net
No major issues this week :)
Noticed some minor light burning on the tips so I moved the light back to 30 inches. Hopefully they grow into it. I also installed a ScrOG Net on the top to keep height manageable.
I believe Jumbo is responding well to the LST as I see new chutes appearing quickly. I am going to LST Jumbo and let Dumbo grow into the net to see how much of a difference it makes.
Gave them a little booster of Big Bloom as well to keep the growth moving as the soils nutrients diminish, seeing round leaves going yellow.
Very happy with the growth on these two so far, I am very excited to see how flowering goes!
Happy new year to everyone
EDIT: Dumbo decided to grow some balls and has now found himself cut down and poured into a pit in the cold north east winter. Asked another grower and he thinks genes more then stress due to the stunted growth compared to the others :(. RIP Dumbo, you really were dumbo
EDIT 2: Started FIMing Jumbo
EDIT 3: Decided to cut it here for Jumbo and Dumbo. Both had issues while they were just entering flower. RIP :(
Final Edit: The surviving three seem to be going well. Besides Chernobyl, that one is just kind of weird to me. Very short but its in flower, hopefully it gives me a cool eighth. Going to grow these three out naturally following more rigid watering procedures. Pretty good this time around as all the plants I am seeing tons of growth on Bob Marley and Criticality. Im hoping they get just a little bit bigger before they stop the flower stretch as they are still kind of tiny but it is what it is.
Just started FF Big Bloom at 1/4th strength in FF Ocean Forest at about fourth week. Also just noticed first pistil growing on one of the plants. When should I swap to Tiger Bloom as I have heard Ocean Forest is hot and do I maintain 1/4th strength for auto flowers? Thanks
Yeah good call taking it easy on FF nutes. I’d wait about 4-6 weeks after planting in ocean forest til you begin feeding. Or unless showing signs she’s hungry.
I’d recommend hovering around 1/4 to 1/3 strength with their nutes..
You can and probably should run big bloom and tiger bloom the rest the grow. Both are P/K heavy, little N
I’d highly recommend feeding with an EC meter and pH. Tiger bloom is acidic as hell and drops my pH significantly when I use it. Hope this helps
This week is going well for these three. Going to start some new beans this week as well to help make up for past mistakes.
The Lambs Breath while not as tall as expected is growing some nice side colas with some decent looking buds in noob opinion. The critical 2.0 is short but I expected that being a Indica dominant. Will likely cull Chernobyl as it is small and I am frankly not sure it will give me even a gram dry.
Hi, my Critical 2.0+ is showing discoloration, and some curling on its lower leaves. I haven't fed them anything other than what is in the soil so far so I am thinking maybe nutes? Thank you in advance for you time!
Nah your good. the first baby leaves are always the first to go with no reason.
Don't over think it, you are good, False ALARM.
Good Luck and Happy Growing
After my grow question I asked last week I waited a few days and followed the normal watering schedule of 5 days apart. Midway through the week not only did the yellowing from the leaves seem to start spreading to the next set but all of the leaves look weak. Going to ride it out and see how it goes. Atleast the plants are looking frosty.
EDIT: Fed them dose of tiger bloom as I figured I have nothing to lose, hopefully they like it
