December 11, started germination. I am excited to grow this strain, so I am hoping for success with only the one seed! Thanks again Exotic Seed for the July Diary of the Month winnings 👍 December 14, sprout 🌱 is a little over 1cm out of rapid rooter. No true leaves yet, but I am counting this as day 1 of the grow.

December 15, day 1, seedling healthy with taproot growing 1.5 inches out of rapid rooter. Transplanted to seedling container. Under 25w Sansi LED untill it is ready for veg lighting. 5 gallon final container prepped with buffered coco/perlite. December 18, day 4. Seedling has had some issues with transpiration, probably due to not enough flushing of the coco. The result is damage to the tips/necrosis of the first true leaves. I flushed the medium and the seedling seems to be recovering. It is sending out more roots and growing at a steady pace. I also moved the seedling into its final pot. This feels a little premature, but it was over growing it's humidity dome. In the final pot it can be covered by clear plastic to maintain humidity. December 19, day 5, new growth is healthy which I am happy about. I will cross my fingers that my quick adjustments fixed the transpiration issues. I am hoping to get it huge and have it trained across the whole 2x4 tent, and it needs to avoid getting stunted for that to happen. 💪🌱 December 20, day 6, I had a bit of a scare when I accidentally knocked my humidity meter and it fell right onto the seedling! The poor thing was knocked right over. It seems to be fine, just leaning a little bit over which will hopefully correct itself in the next few days. December 21, day 7, healthy growing 🌱👍

December 23, day 9. Growing coming along decently, despite the early transpiration issue and large pot size. Clear bag and humidifier have been working well, as the ambient humidity of around 35 percent is not pleasant for younger plants. Coco is never my favorite for seedlings, but I expect things to take off soon! December 26, day 12, I reduced how much the plant is covered, while still maintaining humidity. I am experimenting with JR Peterson dry nutrients, specifically their 1 part "tap" formula to see if it holds ph better in for Toronto tap water. I am feeding .4 ec of dry Cal mag and .4 ec of the base nutrients for a total of 1 ec, and I will see how the malasana cookies responds! December 28, Day 14, malasana cookies is responding just fine to the change in nutrients. I am applying 2x daily foliar at .8ec Cal-mag. Its difficult to maintain consistent high plant humidity with such low ambient RH, so this can hopefully help with cal-mag. Cal-mag can be particularly difficult to move up the xylem during transpiration under these conditions. While the plant looks a bit yellow in the photos the leaves are a decently healthy green in realty.

December 29 day 15, growth is fine, I will likely top the plant later in the week. Roots are developed enough to remove humidity dome, although I am still running a humidifier. December 30, day 16, topped the Malasana cookies and removed growth at the first node. I am not mainlining as I don't think it would give me an even canopy across the 8sqft growing area this plant will take up. The topping won't give the same symmetry, but with a bit of training I will end up with an even, wide canopy. I removed the branches from the first node as I would have to end up removing a lot of that growth. In my experience those first branches never fill in as much anyways. December 31 day 17, recovery from topping going well. Put the humidity dome back on to keep the VPD at around .8kPa. January 2 day 19, despite the large pot causing a bit of overwatering leaf droop the Malasana cookies continues to recover well. I am done with the humidity dome after waffling back and forth quite a bit. I posted an image in more natural light to so that the leaves are a healthy green. Just that edge curling that will work itself out when the plant grows into its big container. January 4 day 21, growth is taking off as it should at this age. Its still going to be a long veg to get an 8sqft flowering size. Recovery from the topping is good, and new leaves are healthier with less clawing. I applied LST with plant ties to get growth to head toward my plant training frame (atlas plant trainer).

January 5 day 22, the Malasana Cookies is growing well, with newer growth comparatively healthy. It is more able to handle lower humidity with it's better developed roots. Watering is happening once every day and a half (approximately) with about 20 percent runoff per event. It is also starting to smell just a little bit, which at this stage is a bonus. The Jack's all in one is working fine. I am enjoying it's low phosphorus, as I always PH down with phosphoric acid which puts quite a bit into the nutrient solution anyways. It is also holding ph quite well, ranging from a 5.9 to a max of 6.2 over the course of a week. January 6, day 23, continued with a little LST to open up the center of the plant to new growth. January 9 day 26, dense growth. Removed a few leaves the make room for new branching. January 11 day 28, growth had become so dense in the center that defoliation was necessary. I left all the large fan leaves that were not interfering with branching.

January 13 day 30, continuing growth to get the plant's canopy nice and wide before flipping the light cycle. LST has been successful in keeping it flat and wide. January 14 day 31, branches are reaching the narrow sides of the atlas plant trainer. Growth healthy and vigorous. January 18, day 35, dense AF. Its just so bushy, even with only one of my lights going. Getting it to widen to the whole 2x4 is going to be tricky. Going to work on that for another week or two, then flip the light cycle. I don't mind an extremely dense plant, but I may have to prune off some of the less developed branches in addition to leaves depending on how it goes.

January 20 day 37, growth dense and steady. Added some liquid silicon to the mix, as I want stems strong and petioles perky when I flip the light cycle. Will probably veg for another week. Dense growth, so I wouldn't mind some stretching. Increased height for the light as well. January 22 day 39, cleaned up the plant by removing some lower leaves and pruning away branches that were forming too low on the plant to develop properly. January 24 day 41, removed some more leaves to lower density where needed, performed a little LST.

January 27 day 44, plant continues to be quite bushy, needing pruning and defoliation regularly. I continue to bend down branches, and will do a widespread LST when I flip the light cycle later in the week. January 29 day 46, more LST and leaf removal, ready to go into flower. January 31, day 48, flipped the light cycle to 12/12. Both lights now active, and LST continues.

February 7, day 55, the light cycle has now been on 12/12 for about a week. I expect pistils to start showing during this week, and at that point I will start counting flowering days as well. The Malasana Cookies continues to have lots of branching and a very dense canopy, so a good portion of the leaves in the center of the plant have been getting removed. February 13, day 61 (1f) pistils have just started to emerge. The Malasana cookies is thick!

February 14, day 62 (2f), vigorous, healthy growth. The Malasana cookies is taking up about 5sqft of the tent. It is really starting to stretch, and enter the early stages of flower. LST continues at the edges, with leaf tucking and leaf removal as needed. February 20, day 68 (8f), good stretching and early bud development, removed leaves to expose bud site. More interesting mutations on this plant, there is a small area of budding on one of the leaves where it connects to the petiole.

February 28, day 76 (16f), flowers are thickening, and there is a lot of resin production (even on many fan leaves). The small anomalous bud sticking out of a leaf is also growing fatter! The flowering stretch is slowing down, which is perfect considering its size. (roughly a meter I height and width). March 6, day 82 (22f), flowers are getting very sticky, with tons of trichomes across many of the fan leaves. A lovely sweet lemon smell has developed (very much like a handful of skittles or similar candy).

March 7, day 83 (f23), I am excited to start this week off by debuting a new light: the Mars Hydro SP-3000! My old quantum boards were doing decently, but were showing their age. With no coating or lense over the actual chips they were not as durable as I would like them to be after a few years of use. The SP-3000 is very powerful and perfectly sized for my 4x2 tent. This is a light that is suitable for professional grows, and you can feel it in the excellent build quality. I am really pleased to have a dimmer, but I am starting it at full power as I am getting into the middle of the flowering cycle. This light is so powerful that I may have to dim it down slightly depending on how the plant responds to the greater intensity. The buds themselves are getting chunky with lots of resin/trichome production (love to see it!) 🌿 March 8, day 84 (f24), the buds are really starting to swell! The Malasana cookies is taking up about 7sqft of canopy, and is transitioning well to the new SP-3000 light. March 13, day 89 (f29), buds are coming along well in terms of trichome production, but need to ripen and get chunkier over the next few weeks! 👉 Check out marshydro_aliexpress on Instagram (https://instagram.com/marshydro_aliexpress?utm_medium=copy_link)

March 14, day 90 (f30), there continues to be a lot of trichome production! The Mars Hydro SP-3000 @MarsHydroLED is throwing down a lot of light, and the Malasana Cookies is loving it. I am enjoying how resinous the leaves are getting, with some petioles actually producing calyxes which I have never personally seen in my plants before. I probably have a little less than a month before harvest, so I am hoping the buds put on a bit more weight in the coming weeks. If they do it will be a heavy harvest, as each nug is dense with trichomes ❄️ March 20, day 96 (f36), the buds are putting on weight, which is good to see! The lower levels of the plant were not as "lollipopped" as I would like, as they Malasana Cookies has grown longer colas than I was expecting. I removed a good portion of upper/middle fan leaves to get more light onto the lower portions of the plant. So far so good on that front. The orange pistils are looking gorgeous, I am really excited to finish this one and sample it! 👉 Check out marshydro_aliexpress on Instagram (https://instagram.com/marshydro_aliexpress?utm_medium=copy_link)

March 21, day 97 (f37), buds are really swelling now. I switched to dry koolbloom which has really upped the "P" in this final flowering phase. I keep it right on the edge of causing plant stress, so there is some minor tip burn but the Malasana cookies is otherwise very healthy. The @marshydroled SP-3000 is performing admirably. March 22, day 98 (f38), removed another round of fan leaves to open up the canopy and allow for lower bud development. These colas are long, and I think at this stage it is important to get the lower portions fattened. 👉 Check out marshydro_aliexpress on Instagram (https://instagram.com/marshydro_aliexpress?utm_medium=copy_link)

March 29, day 105 (f45), the Malasana Cookies is into its ripening phase with harvest just a few weeks away. Exotic seeds puts it at about 56 days of flower, but I typically give it a bit of extra time. I am also not seeing any amber trichomes, and still have a decent percentage of clear on the buds, so it definitely has a little longer to go. Its not going to have the thickest buds, but the trichome development is amazing under the SP-3000. I am getting excited about this one! 👉 Check out marshydro_aliexpress on Instagram (https://instagram.com/marshydro_aliexpress?utm_medium=copy_link)

April 4, day 111 (f51), removed more leaves from this tall, dense plant. The tops buds are decently thick, although I have definitely grown chunkier. They are very long and extremely crystalized, so the yield will probably be good. Smell is a nice sweet lemon. Lower buds are getting less larfy, so the lead removal is doing it's work. Marshydro SP-3000 is throwing down a ton of light, so it's doing it's best to penetrate to the lower canopy. April 10, day 117 (f57), for the last 5 days I have been dialing the nutrients down to an ec of 500. 36 hours of darkness and I chopped the plant. Around a kilo wet trimmed, stay tuned for the harvest week 👍 👉 Check out marshydro_aliexpress on Instagram (https://instagram.com/marshydro_aliexpress?utm_medium=copy_link)

Overall great grow! I am happy to finally grow a photo dependent strain after many harvests of autos. The potency, and size of yield, are great for my needs. The SP-3000 is an excellent light, perfect for a 4x2. The high par is great for making the most out of good genetics, and I think the crystallization speaks for itself I have to be more careful with the drying next time. I was worried about mold after my last grow, but ended up drying too quickly (even with low airflow and 50-60rh) due to the wet trim. I will try a whole plant dry next time.
