End of week 2 Veg. Still looking OK so far, a few spots on the leaves of the left plant but I think it may have been a pH issue (too acidic). Not sure if I will top these plants or not yet, they seem pretty compact so far.

End of week 3 Veg. Left plant has developed a few more spots on the leaves but otherwise doing OK. Think it is just extra sensitive to pH/nutrients because the plant on the right is completely spotless. Decided to top above the 4th node so the plants will have 8 colas each. I am noticing a big difference switching to these 5.6L pots vs the 2L pots from the previous run, the plants are bigger and they are slower to start flowering. I hope that will translate to a bigger yield too but will have to wait and see, I just pray that I don't run out of headroom when they stretch in my tiny tent!

End of week 4 Veg. Well the plants absolutely exploded this past week! Apart from the earlier issues with ph/nutrients on the left plant, I have been pretty happy with this grow so far. These Glue Autos seem to have a nice open structure, I have not had to do much defoliation at all. The left plant is slightly behind the right plant in terms of pistil development but it does seem to be entering into flower as well now. Both plants have more than doubled in size and they are about 10" from my light now, so I hope they don't get too much taller otherwise I will have to start seriously dimming the output down. Pretty strong smell in the tent already 👍

End of week 5 and into Flower. Well I think I can officially stop calling this a 'nano grow' - these girls have grown like crazy the last 2 weeks and show no signs of stopping yet! They stretched so much I actually had to remove my fan and filter and put them on top of the tent sucking air out, and even now I may still run out of space again if they don't stop stretching. It has really shocked me the difference in plant size moving up to 5l pots from the 2l pots I used in the last grow. Trying to decide whether to defoliate or not, maybe it would help slow down the upward growth, but at the same time the plants are looking pretty healthy and happy as they are. Both plants have a nice open structure with plenty of airflow so perhaps defoliation would just cause unnecessary stress for little reward. I also wondered if perhaps the plants were stretching for more light so I checked with PPFD app on my phone and they were already getting a DLI of 55-60 at the tops! From what I understand that is much too high without proper environmental control and cO2 supplementation so that can't be the cause. I guess they just want to grow tall! Apart from the stretch issues I am pretty happy with the plants, they look nice and green and healthy, only the left plant which suffered from pH/nutrient issues early on is about a week behind the plant on the right in terms of bud development.

End of week 6 Flower. Well shit, these plants just keep growing and growing! They seem so ridiculously huge for 5L pots. Not sure whether to defoliate or not, the plants are so bushy but there is still some pretty decent airflow and all the leaves are pointing upwards indicating they are happy. Time to ask GrowDiaries community...

To defoliate or not? I expected these plants to be much smaller than this as the pot size is only 5L! They have exploded and grown so bushy, but so far airflow is still pretty decent so I am not sure if defoliation will do more harm than good at this stage. TIA for any advice!

No I wouldn’t still. I bet you those will not grow any more substantial size. They are maxed out for that pot size.. Most I would do is take a bit off the bottoms/older growth on each branch to allow some airflow beneath them.. Looks awesome tho!

End of week 7 Flower. Last week I asked about defoliation, got lots of good replies and different reasons to do/not do it - in the end I decided to leave the plants as they were. This week they have definitely bushed up a little more, but they still have some decent airflow so I have decided to leave them again for now. Also noticed some of the lower leaves have started to yellow so I think I will wait and see how quickly the plants start to use up those old nutrient reserves and maybe they will start to defoliate themselves to some extent. The plant on the left is showing some nutrient burn now, but the plant on the right is not. Going to start backing off on the fertiliser anyway (I use a commercial fertiliser not available in the list on the site) but maintain all the Bio Nova & Plant Magic enhancers. Perhaps it is placebo effect on my part, but the silicon seems to have really made this plants grow extremely strong in the last few weeks. Buds are starting to fill out now, very pleased with the overall structure of both plants I think they should yield pretty well in the end. The smell is quite subtle so far, but the terps that are there are really nice - pungent/spicy/herbal.

End of week 8 Flowering. Plants are still looking OK, buds have filled out nicely but the tops of the colas are less than 6" from my light which is not ideal! Comparing with last week you can still see some stretch going on even now. I really can't believe how big these plants got in 5L pots.... Stopped feeding enzymes and seaweed this week, will stick to just silicon and Vitasol (molasses) for the next couple of weeks with a little 12/12/36 fertiliser. I may experiment with flushing on this grow, I know it probably has very little effect on the end product but I fed right up until harvest on my previous 3 grows so it might be interesting to compare.

End of Week 9 Flower. Still going OK, some more bud stacking in the past week but overall both plants seem to be slowing down. The plant on the left is taking up very little water, which probably suggests some type of root rot or other issue. Since the start of the grow it has always lagged behind the other plant by a week or so. I will let it dry out quite a bit before the next watering and see if getting some oxygen to the root zone has any effect. My best estimate at the moment is another 2 weeks for the plant on the right, maybe 3 for the plant on the left, just depends how things look. Both plants smell amazing now, totally different from my previous 3 grows. I think this will be my last grow in coco coir, I'm not a fan of having to water and feed so often even if the plants do grow very fast in it. Next run will be my first attempt at an organic soil grow.

End of week 10. Pretty happy with the results this week, comparing to the photo from a week ago the buds have packed on some decent size. Plant on the left is fading now, which is weird because it was always a week+ behind the other plant in development but it's finishing first. I'm sure it'll still produce some nice buds at the end of the day but the plant on the right is definitely looking a lot nicer! Been reading a little about drying plants out towards the end of harvest to stress them and increase resin production. Not sure if it's really supported by science or not but since I am switching to living soil after this grow I might as well give it a shot and see what happens. Thinking ~1-2 weeks left now.

End of week 11. Plant on the left is nearly ready for the chop now, the leaves have faded heavily in the past week and trichomes are mostly milky white. Plant on the right is also pretty close I think but maybe another 2 weeks for that one, it still has some clear trichomes at the moment. Pretty sure both plants are suffering from lockout (left plant more so) but I don't intend on feeding any more anyway - the plan is to pretty much just let them slowly dry out naturally now before the chop to see if it has any effect on ripening speed/trichome density. The terps are very nice at this point - spicy/pine/herbal.

End of week 12. Chop! The plant on the right could maybe have run for another 1-2 weeks but decided to chop them both at the same time to make drying/curing easier. Will update diary with harvest when dry.

Very potent and actually vapes well even without a cure, but I cannot wait to see how it improves with some time in the jar. The terps for the plant on the left (which showed the deficiencies) are quite spicy and piney. The plant on the right has terps like straight up sage! This has been my favourite grow so far, although my results are nowhere near what some people can achieve I am still happy with them. I personally don't mind too much if my buds are a little airy as long as the terps/potency are on point.
