Germinated in a paper towel, first one popped. Planted in a 1 gallon fabric pot with FFOF with 25% perlite and some dynomyco mycorrhizae. Started her under a cheap blurple and threw her in the veg tent a bit too early and the first leaves got a bit burnt. She bounced right back though. Excited for my first photo run.
Nothing too exciting so far, bounced back from the light stress from putting her in the veg tent too early. The new growth is looking great. Just harvested the Critical Banana Smoothie plant so I’ll move this into the closet tent some time this week once I get it cleaned out really well. It’ll be sharing it with a Glookies photo.
Not a ton to add this week. She’s really taking off and growing fast. There’s a solid four nodes so I’m going to top her for the first time at some point this week once I get a fifth. The leaves are huge, it’s cool to see a true indica without the ruderalis influencing the physiology. Hit her with some recharge this week to get the biology going, I’m going to try to stay mainly organic this grow so I want the microbes in the medium to thrive.
Another solid week of growth, I topped her a couple of days ago so I’m hoping to see her bush out some this week. I’ll probably start to do some lst this week as well once she bounces back from the topping.
Lots of growth this week, you can definitely tell it was topped because it’s really trying to bush out. It’s a pretty squat plant and it’s still a bit crowded with all the tops but I’m sure that will lessen once the branches get some length. I repotted her last night into a 5 gallon fabric pot with some fresh FFOF soil, ~25 % perlite, some mycorrhizae, and a handful of compost mixed into the bottom layer. This girl should have everything she needs so I can flip her to flower.
I still need to repot the glookies plant that’s going to share the flower tent. Once I do that and give them a few days to bouncy back I think I’m going to flip. I’m thinking another week or two and we’ll be ready. The glookies plant is looking like it’s going to be a big stretcher so I’m glad it started a week later.
This girl bounced back from being reported like a champ and she’s really starting to bush out. Lots of top sites and a fairly even canopy. I’m tying the two main tops down and stretching them out to hopefully get a few of the nodes to shoot up. I wanted to flip to flower this weekend but I’m thinking I’ll let them veg for another week. I want to get at least one good cut to root in case she turns out to be something special.
This girl is absolutely kicking ass. The structure on the plant is great, where I topped I’ve just continued to tie the two main tops down along the fan leaves at that node and now that they’re at the edge of the pot I have 12 tops from all along the two main tops that are opened up to the light and should stretch up pretty close to the same level as the main tops once I flip.
I took a clone that I’m hoping roots in case this one is a keeper and I’ve started cleaning up the lower 1/3 of the plant. I’m swapping the small bbc and nana glue plants up to the attic tomorrow and flipping this plant and the glookies plant to flower this weekend.
This plant is doing great! She’s super healthy and I have a pretty decent canopy developing. I flipped to 12-12 on Saturday and she’s starting to pop pistils at the tallest tops. I love the structure of this plant, she’s short and stout and loaded with top sites so she’s perfect for my tents that are a bit restrictive in height.
Solid week of growth, she’s stretching but not too much. It’s a week older than the glookies plant sharing the tent but this pot is elevated ~4” off the ground and is still a few inches shorter. I’m liking the structure, though it’s a bit tough to keep up with the defoliation. The tops are starting to look like they’re ready to start forming flowers so I’m hoping to see more pistils popping out this week.
She’s coming up on about a month since she was repotted and I think she’s looking a bit hungry. I’m going to top dress with some build a flower tomorrow I think so she has all she needs to start blooming. I bought some molasses too so I’ll start throwing that into the feeding plan soon too.
This girl is doing great! I think she’s done stretching and I’m a bit concerned about the color, she’s looking more of lime green than she did in veg and I’m not entirely sure if she’s hungry or that’s just her color. I’ve upped the cal mag and top dressed with some build a flower so hopefully once the nutrients in the build a flower become more available in she’ll darken up some. We’ll see, I’m thinking of adding a bit of epsom salt next time I water to see if she’s just really hungry for the magnesium. Aside from the color I’m super happy with how this run is going and even that’s not majorly concerning at this point.
I’m starting to see the first shades of trichomes on the sugar leaves at the top Of each bud site so I’m hoping for some real signs of bud development next week.
This girl is doing alright. She honestly looks better in the pictures than she does in person. she definitely has some fading going on, which I thought was magnesium but the way it’s progressing really looks like a nitrogen deficiency. It seems odd given where she is in flower but I added a small amount of Grow Big to try to supplement the build a flower and she does seem to be responding a bit. I had previously been loading her up with magnesium and I’m curious if that has thrown off the balance in the root zone impacting the uptake of nitrogen.
I let both plants in this tent go an extra day without water this week because they still seemed damp but when I check on them yesterday the lower leaves were super wilted but a few hours after watering she was back to her perky, albeit slightly faded self. Hoping to see some of her color return and get some more bud development this week. There’s already a ton of trichomes on the sugar leaves so I think she’s going to be nice and frosty if I don’t inadvertently sabotage her while trying to fix this issue.
Well, an okay week. The nutrient issue doesn’t seem to be impacting the top sites too bad. I pumped some nitrogen over the last couple of weeks because it looked like a nitrogen issue but I’m seeing a bit of tip burn and I plucked what might’ve been some bananas last night. If they were they were very small but I know nutrient issues and especially too much nitrogen later into flower can make them more likely to happen. I’m definitely going to keep an eye on it though and pull it from the tent if I start seeing more.
That’s enough of the bad though, I got some good bud and frost development this week and I’m hoping that keeps up this week. I did the final top dressing that she’ll get the other night so it’s just coasting To harvest now, I think.
This girl is still doing great. She’s throwing a few bananas every once in a while and she’s developing a bit slower than the glookies plant but she’s still doing well. She’s still throwing a banana every now and then but I’m just plucking them when they pop up. I haven’t seen any pollen whatsoever so I’m hoping seeds are minimal if I do get any. There’s one absolutely massive bud, the pictures don’t really do it justice but it’s huge! I’m thinking she’s going to need another 3 weeks or so. I checked the trichomes and it’s mostly cloudy with some clear. Both plants were looking a bit hungry so I brewed up a compost/nutrient tea and I’ll probably need a couple more to let her finish out.
Onto the final stretch now and this girl is finishing up fine. The fade is starting to settle in and she still needs to ripen up a bit based on the trichomes, but this is supposed to be a 9-10 week finisher and I think that’s going to be accurate, just hoping she doesn’t fade too fast and can make it the last week or two. I’m still finding a banana every now and then so I’m not super confident in these genetics but it’s been manageable. If the final product is just phenomenal I’d consider growing this strain out again but I’m going to chop the clone I took of this one.
This strain is the shit. A bit of trouble growing, ran into a nitrogen deficiency in early flower, threw bananas all throughout flower, but the end product wiped that away immediately. This is some of the most pungent herb I’ve ever smoked, even better than when I got it from the dispensary. It’s straight fucking gas. Probably not going to run the clone I took because I think there’s a chance I could get a less temperamental plant from another seed, but I’m definitely going to run it again. It’s definitely a heavy hitting indica with an intense body high that’s sedating, which is exactly what I wanted from it. Not a massive yield but that’s not the end of the world. I would’ve vegged her longer if the glookies plant hadn’t gotten so much taller.
All in all this was a good grow. When I run it again I’ll feed it nitrogen heavy stuff a bit longer and hopefully get a pheno that throws less bananas and doesn’t stack quite so tight. I wasn’t sure I’d grow it again based on the the overall health of the plant and confidence in the genetics, but dried and cured the strain is straight gas and the effects are great, so it’ll definitely get run at least one more time at some point down the road.
