Jan 10 (day 22): Start of week 4. She's looking really well with lots of growth on leaves, branches and new nodes. She's looking so beautiful and well developed for her age. Interestingly, the three other plants all have pistils today apart from Kelly. She isn't looking behind growth wise, so am sure they will pop out in a day or two π
Jan 11 (day 23): Today I can see that the second set of branches is pushing through to the top of the canopy! I have gently tucked the bigger fan leaves underneath the branches to get more light to them. Growth is literally EXPLODING with tonnes of new nodes coming out and the branches getting longer! Top of the soil is dry, but a little moist underneath so will let her go another day. Still no pistils today....ugh I hope its not a BOY π¨π±π°
Jan 12 (day 24): I did a little watering experiment today as their growth is so quick that I want to make sure she is getting enough water. I mixed up a litre of water with week 2 of the nute schedule. I also added microbes as you can give them twice a week when they are having a growth spurt! I then watered her until run off and monitored exactly how much she took. I've been feeding 500ml up to now, but she took 700ml today so will up her amount going forwards. She took the least of the 4 plants. Loads of growth again on all fronts. I tucked some of the fan leaves under the new branches again to get some light to them. She's still straightening up and looking better, so rotated the pot today to keep her even. The watering process for all 4 plants took a whole hour today, so by the time I had finished the light had gone off on the timer π€ Hence, the photos are pretty crap quality today as the light was off. However, before it went off I noticed she has finally got her first pistils! PHEW its a girl after all π
Jan 13 (day 25): Looking well today and hydrated. More growth on all fronts again and tucked some of the fan leaves under again to get more access to the new branches. Didn't get a chance to take photos today.
Jan 14 (day 26): Still growing crazy growth wise and she is thickening out FAST! She can go another day water wise, so won't be feeding her today. Need to start a bit of light LST soon and have been trying out a new method on Miranda the Monster, so have ordered some large clips from Amazon.
Jan 15 (day 27): Ready for her feed today and more growth as always. Fed her 1L of water and week 2 of the biobizz nute schedule with a preventative dose of Calmag. Her canopy is a nice block of green now, so she is trying to even out. I think tucking the bigger leaves underneath has helped.
Jan 16 (day 28): End of week 4. Cant believe it's the end of another week already. Turned the light up a bit to 50% as there are no signs of heat stress, so I think she can take a bit more light and should have the nutrients to take it. Clips have arrived from Amazon so I was able to start doing a bit of light LST. I am trying out a method where I am adding sticks and clipping the larger fan leaves to them to keep them tucked underneath. This will prevent me from defoliating and potentially stressing her, so the smaller branches can get light but I don't need to lose the larger leaves completely. I've also clipped some of the new branches into place so they are positioned. Ideally I will get her into a nice candlestick shape and each major branch will have its own space and plenty of light. She looks pretty good post the LST and all the new branches are positioned and have access to light. Exiting the week 13.25 inches tall, so has grown 7 inches this week, which is over double her previous size! Another good week with lots of green growth and a full canopy.
NOTE: Nutrient amount is the total amount of nutes given during the week.
@Wicked_Stix, thanks mate, I appreciate that. I am still new to this and the diaries allow me to note things down and Iβve found it interesting to compare my last grow at this stage to my current one. It still just seems really unfair though. If it was a close contest Iβd get it, but when it looks like they didnβt even bother to look at or read my diary, the injustice of it stings. Thanks for the reassurance and kind words though, reminds me that the community is more important than the prize π
@greenhousegrowgirl, I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes I think they roll dice to pick winners lol. I have seem some amazing detailed diaries with beautiful top shelf buds lose to diaries with trash buds and no info. Dont let it get you down. Just enter diary of the month every month and eventually you will get it. Best of luck
@Wicked_Stix, thank you so much! This comment comes at a much needed time as well, because I lost the Newbie of the Month contest π I spent 100 days updating my diary with a comment for every day and some of the winners had no detail whatsoever. I've had a bit of a crisis of confidence and felt like I was wasting my time, but to see that someone has read it and liked it, makes a big difference. THANK YOU for taking the time to comment π
Amazing setup! I was looking at your first grow and you really were all out! I'm sure it will be an amazing harvest. I used Air Pots when they first came out and they were so messy. They look clean! Now the Honor The Plant pots I am trying are much more messy. Congratulations on the amazing grow!
@KAPT_SAVE_Da_HOE, thanks so much! The watering is the messiest bit, so I hear you. I wrote a lot about it in my first grow diaries as it took me a while to get to grips with them. I'm still learning, but if you go back to airpots on your next grow, I'd be happy to share what I learned. I'm behind in my diaries, but will update them in the next week or so. I'm going to chop them today!!!
Hey there,
Thanks so much for running this diary :)
We really hope that you enjoyed growing our genetics! Congrats growmie, pollen for days!
Happy harvesting
