Germination

WitekMajestatyczny Unfortunately, first germination using peat pellet was unsuccessful, I made probably something wrong, seed has opened but hasn't grown and doesn't came over ground. So I made a second try with another seed with 18H watering in glass, then 48H on paper towel and it works!

Does anybody know if those small white spots are ok? I have water 7 pH and I add some citric acid to lower it to 6 pH, when I sprinkle the soil I lightly sprinkle the leaves as well and I'm not sure if it's the effect of dry citric acid or something else. Thanks.

Correct, roots need complete darkness to grow, clear plastic is an absolute no-no! Plus, the shape of the bottle is going to be a nightmare when it comes time to transplanting, the hour glass shape will effectively prevent the soil plug with the roots from sliding out and I suggest that when you come to transplanting time, to carefully cut the bottle off and pray that the soil doesn't crumble into a million pieces. The "white spots" are nothing, just fairly typical patternation of cannabis leaves and are of no concern. At this stage I would be giving just plain tap water without any additions or attempts to change pH, young seedlings are very fragile and I personally believe that the less you mess with them at this early age, the better. Since you are using soil, a pH range of anywhere between6.2 and 7.2 will be absolutely fine, cannabis is not some sort of delicate fern that needs everything exact, it is a tough, hardy and adaptable plant that will cope with a lot of adversity and still be able to thrive. However, you should be trying to keep the leaves dry when watering, cannabis is not a rain forest plant and does not need artificially high humidity to survive. Also, any water droplets can/may act like magnifying glasses and cause burnt patches on the leaves, especially under intense artificial lights. Black plastic pots about 4 inches across and 5 inches deep are ideal for growing seedlings and provide enough room for about 3 weeks of growth and if you are using good soil, enough nutrition that they will not need any extra feeding for those 3 weeks. And the best thing about decent black plastic pots, is that with washing between grows and a bit of care, they will last many years, reducing waste to garbage dumps and when they do finally give up, are totally recyclable, making them a good choice for environmental reasons too! Hope this helps, Organoman.

WitekMajestatyczny At the beginning of Week 1, I made a transplantation to 12L plastic pot + 4cm perlite on the bottom of pot as a drainage, before transplantation I have completely flushed my soil because I found a lot of springtails in. Hope I didn't got rid of all nutrients in soil. I use Compo Sana Anzuchterde. Next time I will try BioBizz Lightmix or BioBizz Allmix. I hope, that this pot size is not too tall for my 140cm tent. At the end of the week, I had some problems with drainage in my plastic pot so I decided to transplant my lady to little bit smaller smart pot. During transplantation I probably damaged some bottom roots but not many. I hope it will get well after all. By the way, my current plant looks little bit weird from the beginning of grow. I'm not sure if it's because of genetics or I made something wrong during whole process.

Looks like stems becoming a little bit red.. I've checked other diaries with this strain and didn't found anything like that. Before transplantation I have completely flushed my soil about 2 times because I found a lot of springtails in. Hope I didn't got rid of all nutrients..

She looks fine, maybe start nutes in a week, the first 2-3 weeks generally don't need nutrients or much light

I wouldn’t start to worry too much. I looked in your diary at the type of soil used and I’m not familiar with that. If it has nutrients in it, you should be fine for a bit. It almost looks like a soilless type mix tho and if that’s the case there’s no nutrients in it at all.. so I’d try to figure that out and that will let you know if you should feed any. If it does not have nutrients than you should begin feeding at this time. The red stem can mean several things, not all bad. I’d relax and find out about that soil and go from there

WitekMajestatyczny #1: In the last day of week 1 I had to change plastic 12L pot to smart/fabric 8L pot. I made this decision, because I found water drainage problem with my classic plastic 12L pot and after some days, the soil was still very wet and water won't gone through drainage holes. Unfortunately I had only smaller pot. During transplantation I have damaged bottom roots a little bit, but not completely. I didn't changed soil, just reuse the same from plastic pot. Unfortunately I took soil from the bottom of old pot and it was very wet. She's looking not so good now but I hope she will get better after some days. I have hanged the light as high as it possible to lower temperature and placed a ventilator in the way so to get rid of excess moisture from the soil. Now I have to wait till soil will dry and only then start watering again.
