This week I took the fan covers off my 2 tent fans as they were collecting dust and water minerals from the humidifier and then blowing them around and getting them on the leaves. Once I removed them and cleaned the fan blades everything is keeping cleaner and there is more airflow without them. The GelatO.G. is growing nicely and looks healthy. There is very little space between nodes currently and it is getting quite bushy. The first pheno is quite a bit larger than the second. I have topped the larger of the 2 as it is growing faster than anything in the tent. I am going to let 1 more node pair come out and then I am going to begin LST.
The Gelat.O.G. are growing well. These are my first autoflowers along with the Alaskan Purple, so I am trying to be relatively hands off to reduce stunting. Just doing some LST with rubber garden wire.
They are looking a little rough right now after earlier in the week when I defoliated a bit and then trained them out with rubber wire. They also had a bit too much water for a day or 2 but are beginning perking up now that the first flower buds have arrived. I top dressed at the beginning of the week with organic fertilizer to support the flower phase.
These 2 pheno's have grown the worst of the 4. It is also fair to note though that they are in 3gal pots where the bubba and AP are in 5 gal pots. I have had issues with making them happy with watering, but seem to be doing better now. They are beginning to stretch and add more flower buds. I will have to say this strain has been my least fav to grow so far. It is a lot more sensitive and finicky than my bubba kush or alaskan purple.
I defoliated the lower skirt and probably won't do any major defoliation after this. I removed any of the little sucker popcorn, nug shoots from the lower canopy trying to choke out the top and removed anything that wasn't receiving light penetration through the top canopy. I amended both with Gaia Green organic amendments and watered in for their final shot of nutrients to get them the next month and a bit to the finish line. I adjusted all of my LST rubber wires to subtly re arrange after for better light penetration, but it wouldn't have caused any stress. I am mostly going to be hands off other than watering till the end. The only other thing I do is rotate the position of each plant in the tent once a week to give a break from any hot spots or higher wind zones and get even rotation of conditions.
The buds are really fattening on these 2 autos. With a month left as long as I can avoid any issues I should see them get even bigger before harvest. I have been amending with power bloom to keep supporting flower growth.
Aging into her last weeks. Just checking trichomes every few days. At this point they are not quite where I want them to be maturity wise so going to give another week till my guessed harvest.
Trichomes are nice and cloudy. Both of these faded quite nice with beautiful colours. These are the final pictures before I chopped and hung. The last couple weeks I did nothing but water when needed and watch the fade and check the trichomes for readiness.
This was a pretty tasty, strong strain. Didn't grow very big but I am also new to auto flowers. I enjoyed trying it out and it has made me a Gelato fan and want to try out a photo variety.
