2x2 grow tent. Lighting is a HLG 135w Quantum Board LED (3000k). Seed germinated in a Rapid Rooter and placed into solo cup with a 70/30 mix of FoxFarm Ocean Forest and perlite.
Plant is continuing to strengthen and grow. Transplanted into 3 gallon smart pot on day 9 from seed (75/25 FoxFarm Ocean Forest and perlite + dolomite lime).
Day 21: Had to turn LED voltage down due to high temperatures in the tent (and outside). Gave plant 1/2 gallon of water on day 20. More pistils emerging.
Day 19: Pre-flower pistils formed. Increased LED voltage and now giving 20 hours of light. Soil still moist from previous water. Mild nutrient burn noted on another leaf. Height now at 6 inches.
Day 17: Spotted (very mild) nutrient burn on one lower leaf. Increased water volume to 1/2 gallon every two days. Height at 4.24 inches.
Day 15: Plant is growing approximately 1/2 inch per day. Watering every two days. No nutrients have been added thus far. Placed carbon filter on exhaust fan to eliminate the weak (but undeniable...) smell.
Day 25: Gave first dose of nutrients at 1/4 strength.
Day 24: Calcium deficiency noted. Watered with CALiMAGic. Preformed LST. Regretting waiting this long...
Day 23: Watering approximately 3/4 gallon of water every other day. Combating high daytime temps. Will most likely begin LST this week. Stretching 1/2 inch per day on average. Height at 8.5 inches.
Day 32: Bought an AC unit last week to combat high temperatures in the room with the tent. Next time I will definitely vent outdoors rather than into the same room. Plant is continuing to stretch. Tucking branches once or twice a day. My first attempt at LST seems like an utter failure as the bud sites are all over the place. On a positive note I haven't noticed any deficiencies or nutrient burn. Smell seems to be getting more pungent by the day.
Day 43: Trichomes forming on leaves. Despite adding (what I thought to be) an adequate amount of dolomite lime to the soil, I've been having calcium deficiencies. I've since been adding a full teaspoon of CALiMAGic to each half gallon of RO water per watering. Since the plant seems to be handling the nutrients at 1/4 strength I've taken them up to half strength this week. Still have no idea what I'm doing, but I think things are going pretty well!
Day 51: Started using nutrients at full strength after noticing yet another phosphorus deficiency. Plant has also been taking up more water. Buds are fattening up and I'm REALLY wishing I had done more LST to even out the canopy.
Day 56: Switched from RO to tap water after having more calcium deficiencies. It's like a never-ending battle, even with supplementation. Trichomes are just beginning to cloud.
Day 64: Plant was flushed at the end of week eight. New sugar leaves are normal although the calcium deficiency definitely affected some of the lower ones. Buds are continuing to grow and most are about as thick as a banana, though not as tall. Think baby banana. Trichomes are pretty cloudy but I've yet to see any amber.
Day 77: Flushing all week. She's looking rough but still wants to keep going. I'm consistently seeing new pistils and the trichomes are a little behind where I'd like them (ideally), but due to a planned vacation I'll need to take her down next week. I broke out the measuring tape to show just how short and stout this plant is.
This was my first time growing cannabis so I had no idea what to expect. I followed tutorials and articles I found on GrowWeedEasy and Reddit and the feeding schedule provided by Fox Farm.
The plant was grown in a 3 gallon smart pot in a 2'x2'x4' tent. Lighting was a HLG 135w LED. The light was at 75% during veg and cranked to the max during flower. I had two oscillating fans in the tent along with a 4" exhaust fan and carbon filter. Humidity was at around 50% for the entire grow. Temperatures were my biggest problem at first. I had to install a window AC in the room to keep the temps in check.
My biggest mistake was using RO water a couple of times without adding CalMag. I also forgot to PH my water on a few occasions. I won't make that mistake again!
I did not experience any problems with pests, powdery mildew, etc.
Buds were wet trimmed. Trim was used to make dry ice hash. My wet weight is 15.3oz (I didn't weigh the hash or trim). I will update with the dry weight when the time comes.
Final dry weight is 3.5 ounces. Decent!
