Germination
All germinated, and are now (sat 8th) in rockwool Cube, cross fingers as I'm not sure if I introduced them in the correct up/down orientation. 3 of them are now healthy and out of the rockwool cube. I was seeing the 4th for 2 days without being able to get out. I notice today that the root was changing to a light green due to light exposure. I decided this morning (11th Jan) to delicately help and extract the top and as you can see on the new pics, it was already as long as the 3 others but inside the cube! I hope this will help to get up and continue to stretch normally... ... and 48h have passed and its almost up (should I help now to get it right up?) Still no roots visible on the cube's edge, will wait a bit more to place them in the MyPot places.

Still very small... but the cube are small too, there were little white roots (not a lot) on the bottom and side. As the plastic container was larger I was afraid they got some direct light. Also... I had a fail with the heating control and temperature jumped at 32º for 8h during the night! The rock wool cubes dried and hope they didn't suffer to much stress. 23/01/2022: no grow... don't get why it's so slow. Note: the nutrients in power are expressed in g/L (not ml/L). I have to say I'm not pretty convinced but still give a try with those kind of nutrients. I have the "chance" to get a water at home with pH 7 and Ec 0.05, pretty much a free osmosis treatment!

Hi guys, it's very slow. Parameters seems fine. The EC goes up to 1.2 in 48h. Out 3 liters in the deposit, put water ph7&EC0.05, corrections to Ec 1,0 and pH 5.5. I'll do that daily. There is a top 6L deposit with still the "old" Ec/pH and mix slowly watering. Any tips please

This is a hydroponic feed chart. Make sure you ph your water at 5.8 for veg, check everyday. Feed chart for photos. Day their born, 400 ppm, 0.8 ec. See good growth that week up to 500 ppm, 1.0 ec. Next week and you see good growth, 600ppm 1.2ec Every week you increase 100 ppm if your seeing good growth. If your not seeing good growth then stay with that amount an extra week. Stop increasing when hit 800 ppm, 1.6 ec. Only give more if you see they really need. Soilless recovers or goes bad very quickly. Keep parameters in order and they will recover rather quickly. If their autos start at 200 ppm from sprout and work your way to 600 to 650 ppm.

I dropped the EC to 0.6 and try to maintain the pH under 6 as recommended, it seems to have an effect after 3 days. I also decide to water gently (10 ml) the Expanded Clay around the rock wool cube as I suspect roots are not yet developed enough to get the water they need from the pump delivered into the Expanded Clay. There is about 20 cms (8 inches?) of Expanded Clay before the 6L top deposit. Still learning how to deal with this new gear. I haven't grown indoor since 2007 and was using successfully GHE Aquafarm and nutrients with MG and HPS lamps, cool tubes, and good fresh air from outside.

30/01/22 I changed nutrients! I emptied and cleaned the bottom tank. I emptied the top deposit (4L) as much as could, there is no valve, so I flushed the grow medium in the bathroom to diluate at maximum. Finally, I prepared the new nutrients soup and fill the bottom deposit (12L) and changed the stone for the air pump (much more bubbles). After 36h of watering the level of the bottom deposit was lower as the top deposit has been filled again (4L) I added 3L of water. EC is now at 0.75 and I got the pH controlled daily, It's quite annoying as I can test only the bottom deposit and when I set the new pH I have to keep in mind that the top bottom will act as a buffer. Meaning, the pH tend to move up to 6.3 so I set the bottom to 5.5 so it mixed progressively with the top and I think I got during the day a range between 5.7 to 6.2. Also, I saw green alga on the top of the rock wool cube and around the top holes where the watering filters to the grow medium. I mixed 10ml/L of oxygenated water and I put 10ml on top of the cube and clean the holes. I'm still watering manually around the wool cube 15 to 20 ml by plant (2 to 3 times a day) as I think the root must not be enough long to arrive to the top deposit or be watered properly regarding the position of the holes on the top platform. I also applied leaves spary 2 times a day with Supervit and Rhizotinc. 06/02/22 Thank you so much for your answers to my second question! Decision: I'll follow on with this 4 autos. Challenge, experience and I'm not keen to forgive. Confirmed they grow again but still leaves are small... I saw they should be as hand palms. New leaves are healthy (no brown zones) in comparison with the damaged first "leaves". I will stay with the same Ec 0.85 for 3 to 4 days bottom deposit drop for about 2 liters. pH is now almost stable in 24h it goes up to 6.1 max, I perform a light adjustment to 5.7 in the bottom deposit. Hopefully, the SuperVit, PowerZyme, RHIZOTONIC would have helped to help the plant to produce new healthy roots that will develop and reach the 4L deposit of the top module. I uploaded pictures of my "spaceship" setup: - so you can the not well know Spanish DWC Mypot https://www.ledgrowshop.eu/mypot/ - in a 60x60x160cms tent and, - the SOLUX PRO TITAN 4 https://opengrow.pt/shop/en/led-equipment/348-solux-led-titan-4-120w. That's why this time my wife and decided to grow Autos the fear of lack of space. I used to grow 15 years ago, and at first I tried soil without so many success, and a friend offers me to try the GHE Aqua Farm and I was amazed by the results. But at this time I had a 120x120x200 tent, 800W HPS (cool tube) and powerful intraction/extraction directly from outside fresh air! I struggled a bit until I discovered my house water is pH7 and EC 0,05!!! Everything was perfect after I used CAL MAX and other nutrients on top of this base. I'm a newbie with this new setup, and as said I haven't yet get the perfect balance, will be patient. I have to accept losses during this R&D phase of the launch. A doubt for the led system though but but happy with the change of nutrients, back to the liquid one used to use in the past.

We are quite happy with changes in 4 days! New leaves with green color. They recovered, we don't except a big harvest... a friend said with issues during the early stage with auto flowering would have damaged the roots & stay small with low flower production. Any thoughts?

Autos can be quite tricky and the advice you where told very well may come to light in exactly that way. There is also the off chance they will bounce back and do some nice things for you. Very hard to predict and not all autos react to the same stress in the same way. I fell you have the best option to correct anything in DWC/RDWC. the root mass of plants grown this way is always massive when its kept in check. Best Of Luck!

17/02/22 I finally uses the elastic net to gently bend the stems (not the best solution but smooth). I'm trying to attend the small new yellowish small leaves. I lowered the EC to 1.3 (extract 3L and replace with 3L water), I've added CAL MAG to reach 1.45, and will work between in 6 to 6.3 pH. I also move up the lamp for 10 cms. 15/02 They are now stretching and clearer sign of flowering. 12/02 I wouldn't expect too much but happy to have maintained faith in the recovery. I have no idea how will be the outcome. I can now see clearly they are beginning the flowering (I'll let 18h as it's an auto strength). The stem is stronger now 1/4 inch (I know that's ridiculous, but other detail that confirm the recovery. Note that my programmable socket failed... they did get more night and no watering for about 6h. I managed to get everything wired and scheduled again on another four socket USB switch but I lost the ability to control temperature and humidity from the sensors values. But I did get the frequencies from the recorded graphs and replicate more or less that timing with loops ON/OFF every x minutes. Hopefully this other incident will not affect as much as the start difficulties. I emptied the bottom tank (12L) and prepared a fresh new mix following the official charts. As the 4L top tank still had the previous proportions I expect a drop to the lower range of EC which should not be bad regarding the small size of the plants at this stage.

You still have time, they are looking to be the prefect size to do some LST, go slow and don't rush it, nobody wants a snapped stem. if you use the explore function on the diary page you can browse others using LST on hydro grows. Can use them as reference points. Only do what your comfortable with. This is your grow after all. Best Of Luck!

24/02/2022 Got the solution of the full bottom tank. I am now at 1.5 EC and 6.1 pH. Let's see how it moves mixing with the upper tank. Still a bit doubt with 1 of the 4th plants. It feels not like the same genetic or may be it's a male! I'll have to search quiclky. 23/02/22 I got the solution updated, I might have been lowering to much the EC as it was 1.35 yesterday and it drops to 1.25 today... I will probably refill the bottom tank with 3L water and then add nutrients again. Is it safe to go at 1.6? pH rised to 6.5 I lower the bottom tank to 5.5 to progressively mix with the upper tank where the roots are in bath. My concern whith the MyPot is that I can't never measure what is in this upper tank! 19/02/22 New week, new pics, I will probably empty the whole tank and start with next proportion in the grid official grid, this time with CAL MAX as base and then add the other nutrients on top same proportions as week 2 floration but target a 1.6 EC and pH 6. With the top deposit holding 4L still holding the previous proportion it will progressively reach 6.1 pH and the EC will be 1.5 in about 48h.

I had many issues and not sure what's happening with one of the plant that doesn't look to flower like her sisters. Is it late flowering and will develop (or not) and I have to be patient? is it a male and should cut asap? I hope the pictures will be enough close to help.

Its looking like a female to me mate. Might be over thinking it. Normally males will flower or show sex earlier before the females. I see pistils or what look like pistils in the photos you posted. If you still worried keep an eye out for male pollen sacks. they look like coco pods and they tend to point downwards on the plants and grow in clusters. I still think you have nothing to worry about though. Good Luck!

02/03/2022 Bottom deposit has dropped 3 to 4 liters, again. pH was up to 6.2 and EC has dropped to 1.5 (I guess they consume well the nutrients, if it was only evaporation EC should rise). I decide to wait tomorrow to refill and adjust, pH will rise probably to 6.4. I have now some doubts on the remaining space to rise up the light and defoliation of the bottom of the plant. 28/02/2022 Back from WE, everything fine, good smell already. Bottom deposit dropped 4L, pH up to 6.3 Ec dropped to 1.35. I just lowered the pH to 5.8 and tomorrow I fill again the bottom tank and adjust nutrients to 1.7 again. 26/02/22 Tank filled. Adapt nutrients solution to 1.7 EC then wait 24h, bottom solution dropped to 1.5 EC, set pH to 5.8. Will leave for 2 days and not attended... so that would be surprise to see Monday night how pH and EC have evolved!

10/03/22 Morning measures: EC 1,76 pH 6.2 => Refill 3L water (over 9L => 12 total), EC dropped to 1,3. Add nutrients at 25% of recommendation, EC now up to 1,76 and pH at 6 (without having to adjust!). The smell is really nice and stronger. No new leaves with deficiencies. Happy. 08/03/22 Sorry for the silence... pretty busy. So at first I ran the recommendations from GHE on top of CAL MAG, that has left the EC to 1.9, taking in account I stop adding the Flora grow at 50% of recommended. With the mix of the top tank after a while it drops to 1.8. As the average evaporation is about 1.5L a day and curiously the EC remains stable, I've added water once a day and EC is 1.7, which I believe less aggressive. PH tends to always rise, like 0.4 over a day, so I do one correction on mornings and set it to 5.8 and it's almost stable during the day and back to 6.2 the next morning. I'm afraid during those days I had again gear failure and automatism lost... humidifier ran the whole night I would say at least 2 liters, lots of condensation, accumulation at the bottom of the tent, moist of the flowers... in shock! Again a new stress, open the tent fan at max, shacking the plants. Other fail, was total lost of power on an USB programmable socket, resulting in no extraction, no air pump, hopefully it was at night and no light cut off during the usual cycle. I really have to get that situation sorted out. I reused my old gear ( 12 years old at least!). Just for the story, both USB socket works only on Windows XP, no recent drivers, so I had to install a virtual machine on an old Mac and get them to work, same for my USB temperature and hygrometer sensors. None of them works properly and I had to use the robust electro-mechanic temporizations for the light and the water pump. Recent pics confirm that was worth following after the difficult beginning, still do not expect a great yield but not a big smoker neither, so happy with any outcome. So pleasant discovering zooming the pics that there are plenty of trichomas, small and transparent. Isolated leaves present different kind of deficiencies. Not the same on all plants, and haven't appeared all at the same time. Will try to find out what they are, on which plant and in what order, but I didn't trace that precisely. 05/03/22 Empty the bottom tank, start with a fresh solution.

19/03 Empty the bottom tank, renew the solution completely. I'll begin to slowly lower the EC to 1.6 (I'll consider that I'm now at -3 weeks from harvest). I discovered that there is something strange with the light when I did want to take a "night" picture of the plants with flash. I was using a mechanical timer and even during the shut down of the timer, there is a slow amount of current that let the LEDS on with a very low intensity. The switches of the lamp are working well and shuts down the lights totally. I had another timer, digital one (you can set 10 programs, select days of week, etc...) and same result, current leak. I can't explain what's happening. Fortunately it's an auto strain and that would have a very low effect but still they were never totally in darkness. Other concern the big difference of flowering advance between the 4 plants. The first one have already brown pistils, the 2d and 3rd white pistils and have reasonable get volume, the 4th one is at least 2 weeks behind! So, how to manage the harvest in that case? Do I have to cut all of them at the same time because they share the same DWC and roots are interlaced? What would happen if I cut the plant and then let 2 weeks the last one with the roots of harvested, will they rot, can this leads to diseases?

07/04/22 I've been refill with water only, little by little and the EC was lowering each time and is now at 1, just maintaining pH around 6.1. Tomorrow I will empty the bottom tank and refill with water only (just VIT and PowerZyme). Cut is planned for Fri 15th. I still can't see ambar trichoderma but I have no choice... 02/04/22 First of all apologies for having jumped the Flo Week 11. Nothing really special to report, except that the 4th plant, that was late had stretched a lot is now flowering at a quick pace. I had rotated the lamp so the 4th plant have now the FLO spot (32W) on top of it, the 2nd and third have the 2 full spectrum spots (2x32W) on top, and finally the first one, that was clearly more advanced is on the side with the VEG spot OFF. I really don't like this lamp, lack of homogeneity, and it is not 120W, I'm working with 3 spots so 90W, and also it isn't clearly said if in flowering I should only use the FLO Spot and have only 32W !?!?!? So I assumed it's adding the FLO spot to the full spectrum spots pair. DECISION: I've ordered the LUMATEK ATS 200W PRO. I will have to deal with tent space, 60x60cm, the lamp is 54x54 cm... I had the extraction for the top with the filter attached in the corner and that won't work with the new lamp! Will probably post a question about that. As far as I can see, zooming pics, trichomes are now white on 3 plants and still mostly translucids for the 4th. I got brown pistils on all flowers. So the gap between the 1st and 4th is not so big now. DECISION: Regarding the past question, progressive harvest, I'm now rather inclined to reduce the EC for this week, next week flush with water, 48h in dark and harvest all plants at once on 15th April. In fact, that's also a necessity because on 16th we leave for 10 days planned holidays. It might not be the ideal time to harvest but that's what it is. Anyway, I always preferred to harvest in advance (it is said to be more psychoactive) rather waiting for a few more grams. A big big thank you to all of you that encouraged me to follow on with these 4 plants when I was about to give up on VEG Week 2! And also for all further advises that confirm that there is always hope. My wife and I are amazed by where we are at considering it's an auto strain and that it was said "missing the train" during the first week will give us a pathetic yield. Obviously compared to champions we saw here, there's lots of improvements to make, but we are very happy! 01/04/22 Quick post, come back tomorrow...
