1/15/22 -Put 10 White Widow (fem) seeds into glass of water with a loose fitting lid and placed in warm area in house (75+°F). -I will pick the best out of the 10 of these and put all but one in the grow tent, with the one last one being a mother plant to clone for later. -I have a 2ft x 2ft grow tent and still deciding how many plants I want to place in there. I am planning on mainlining the plants and I currently have five 3 gallon fabric pots. -I am thinking between 2-4 plants with each mainlined to 8 mains. I would really love to yield at least 200g at the end.

I will be mainlining my plants to 8-16 mains and I'm trying to decide how many plants I can fit in. I was thinking between 2-4 plants, which would be 16-64 colas in that 2ft x 2ft area.

To me it makes no sense to do 2 plants or 6 plants or whatever. You do 1 or you do 4.. Keep it symmetrical. That’s said, I’d be doing it plant if you’re gonna main line you’re taking time to veg and 1 plant will fill up a 2x2 if mainlined - shoot for 16-24 tops.. usually lower growth you can top an extra time, giving you some extra tops. If you’re gonna push more than 16 you better have environmentals on point, cuz you’re gonna have a lot going on in a small spot and can get WPM and humidity issues.. I’d go one plant 16 tops. You’ll be able to flip after 6-8 weeks if you grow decently. Good luck

1/18/22 -All 10 seeds popped and I put them each in their own peat container, filled with 1:1 Peat moss and Vermiculite. Credit to Dr. Bugbee. Hopefully they all grow. I think I will eventually do 2-4 plants in the tent in 3 gal pots. I'll give one more plant to my wife, and one plant to use as a mother for future grows. 1/20/22 -Got my 2'x2'x5.3' grow tent fitted with the lights and fan. Lights are at top height at around 30% power to giving about 300 PPFD to the sproutlings on a 20 hour schedule (21.6 DLI). Is that too much light? 1/22/22 -Cheers! 7 of the 10 seeds have sprouted. Spraying the topsoil with water or using a small cup to pour some water in each one, about twice a day. Any and all criticism or suggestions greatly appreciated!

Also, is there any benefit to having more than 18 hours of light a day? Thanks

I don’t recommend going more than your 18 hours.. as far as and exact DLI, I’ve never calculated it for seedlings. Just try to keep things around 250-300 which would be like 15-20 DLI I believe at 18 hours.. maybe push up to 20 if ya like but I think it’s crucial to have a dark period. I also notice (and it could be circumstantial/genetics) but when you have a significant jump in lights on hours and switch to 12/12.. the more difference between the two cycles seems to cause more stretch. For example - going from 20/4 to 12/12 seems to stretch more than 16/8 to 12/12. Just my experience.. Good luck! White widow from ILGM should be a great first grow, I’ve grown about a dozen of their strains

She is one of 7 other seedlings that are doing fine with the same pots and media (50% MG Peat Moss, 50% Vermiculite). A couple days ago she was getting light green in the center. Now she is more light green and the ends of leaves look dying

@esotaro same thing happened to two trainwreck seedlings recently the dry air and heat literally sapped the moisture from the leaves and the plants ended up DEAD 💀 If that is the case not much can be done to save the seedling but you can try to elevate moisture levels in the air

1/23/22, Day 1 -I will count today at first Day of Sprouting (Day 1). -9 of the 10 seeds sprouted, but the two new ones still have shell stuck to them. Noticed temps are averaging 75F - 88F with low humidity of 33-37%. 1/24/22, Day 2 -Took the shells off of the two new ones. The last one may still be coming up, I think I see it's white shoot in the soil. -Is today the first day of Veg as the sprouts are green and almost growing their second set of leaves? -I am leaning towards 4 plants topped 1-2 times depending on space. So I will have between 8-16 mains, which is 2-4 plants per sq/ft. That seems to be the max amount of mains people aim for per square foot. And many SOG setups seem to have 2-4 plants per square foot as well. -11:50pm: fully watered each seedling. Tap was reading .396 EC and run off was reading at .320-.360 EC. Does that mean the soil is sucking the nutrients from the tap water? 1/25/22, Day 3 -8:42am: tent was 71F with 50% RH. Wow a lot of humidity! Just from fully watering the pots. I should have soaked them this much on the first day in the pot. 1/26/22, Day 4 -humidifier came in the mail today -9:50am: 79F, 37% RH in tent, set humidifier for 60% RH outside of the grow tent but in the same room. -11:26am: It's not really raising humidity at all... -Discovered two of the seedlings didn't make it. The 9th one sprouted and then died. -I have one other sprout that isn't doing too well. -7:17pm: put humidifier in tent to see if it makes a difference still set at 60% RH. 2/27/22, Day 5 -they look a little happier today. -Calibrated my PH meter today and found out my tap is like 8.2 pH. The weak fertilizer soln is 7.15 pH and 270 ppm (.542 EC). -Watered today with weak fertilizer soln. 2/29/22, Day 7 -We have 8 seedlings. -Two of them have burned leaves but they still look alive. I will do my best to save them and see what happens. -One of the ones with burned leaves actually has grown the most even more than the healthy ones. What does this mean? -Haven't watered since 1/27. I will probably water before the day is done.

Thank you for all of your guys' help last week with this seedling. I tried to get more humidity in there but it's just so dry here in Arizona winter and just been cheerleading this sprout and the others to stick it out. Looks like this one is growing okay now. What you guys think

2/5/22, Day 14 -I've been putting Humidifier in the room the grow tent is in and it is keeping the humidity in the tent around 55% which is better than it has been. -Seedlings are doing well. I've been trying to water them less often and wait until they show a small sign of drooping. When I would water them before I would soak them and then they would have a day of slow growth. -The burned ones looks like they may survive! -The middle one has a skinny stem somehow; we'll see if it survives.

2/7/22, Day 16 -Watered the plants today. They are drooping. 2/10/22, Day 19 -320ppfd in tent -Made soil: 2:1:1 ratio of peat : vermiculite : perlite -Pre-wet the soil with about 1/4gal of 7.25pH, 270ppm/.540 EC weak fertilizer solution. -Filled 7 pots with the soil. -Threw away the center seedling as it died :( -I did not water the plants after potting them. 2/12/22, Day 21 -Each plant looks sort of yellow. -Watered each plant with about 8oz of solution: 7.25pH, 270ppm/.540 EC 2/13/22, Day 22 -Finally, 24 hours after watering, they are looking to be growing again and getting nice and green in the middle. -the first set of leaves are all getting yellow on these seedlings and will probably die. -After doing a bunch of research and observation on these little ladies, and I've concluded that these infernal peat pots are the culprit of my seedling problems. -The peat pots were acting like a wick and sucking water from the soil and the roots and releasing the water vapor into the dry, winter air. -But then you cannot keep water at the bottom of the pot because once the pot gets wet, you can see white mold patches all over it. They simply suck. -I will never use them again.

I would also avoid using the word soil. medium or substrait would be better as soil is a type of medium you grow in. Yours is mainly comprised of peat, this makes it soilless. As this is a soilless grow I would aim to keep your PH in the range of 5.8-5.9 for vegg and 6.2-6.3 for flower. Your diary says the plants are on week six but they are severely stunted for other 6 week old plants. I think this is because the first three two week of your grow could be the germination week and the third would be week one. This combined with improper PH has caused them to grow slowly. is my theory. I think you could increase the feed up a bit but best to get the PH under control before doing anything else. Good Luck!

2/22/22, Day 31 -Plant soil still seems wet -I hope this soil will dry out quicker when the plants are larger -I have one plant that is browning in the leaves, almost looks like necrosis -Fed about 15oz of fertilized water (300 ppm, 7.2 pH) and runoff was: 310ppm, 5.7 pH. -Slurry of soil with distilled water: 4.9 pH -I'm glad the runoff is much closer to 6.0pH compared to 2/15/22 when the runoff was 4.5 pH -Watered two other ladies in the front with 15oz -Added fan into tent -Watered rest of plants with new solution: 411 PPM, 5.9pH. (1tsp of fert (1.6tsp ideal)) 2/23/22, Day 32 -Plants really responded to more water and more fertilizer. I think they want more nutes. -At this point I want to raise PPFD to 2/24/22, Day 33 -Raised lights from 50% to 100% -PPFD went from 350 to 550 (21.4 to 35.6 DLI) -66% increase in light intensity

good luck so why do you pop 10 seeds if you only have room for 4? or do you want to make a SoG then every plant will have 1-2 budsides 8 is to much happy growing

@JaramnieJazz, Hmm okay 5 plants in .8m x.8m: -So, .8m x .8m = 2.625ft x 2.625ft, which equals 6.89sq/ft. -5 plants with 8 mains each -40 mains total -5.8 mains per sq ft So I have 2ft x 2ft, which equals 4sq/ft. 5.8 mains per sq/ft for my area is 23.2 mains total. I could do 3 plants with 8 mains each totaling 24 mains, which is 6 mains per sq/ft, similar to yours. I'm gonna check out your grow and see how it looks. Thanks for the input~ 👍💪🌱

@esotaro,then SoG is the way alot plants not topped or just ones then u can shorten veg to about 3 weeks it depends if its indica or sativa indica whould need more veg and sativas like haze u could go direct into 12/12 and end with 1-1,5m plants

Bro. Your RH is way tooo low and PH way too high.. 65-75% veg Preflower 45-60 max Mid-harvest 35-45max. ph for soil can range from 5.8-6.3max for best growth. Anything out of that range isn't good. Good luck bro.

Hey there friend. Would you be alright with me offering some pointers? So cannabis plants LOVE heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it. In veg we want to take advantage of this fact to help our plants grow along much quicker and more vigorously. In veg we can look for temps of 79-84 MAX with lights on & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. If we allow for too much temperature swing between lights on and lights off while the plant is still growing vertically up to day 20 of flower, We will cause the plant to stretch ALOT which we do not want. So in veg & early flower, Keeping our temperature gaps nice and close between lights on and off is key. Utilizing humidity in our rooms during veg will also help out a lot with more rapid growth but we must introduce it properly. In our rooms we have our temperature and humidity set-points, But when we combine those 2 it forms a third set-point which is the most important & that is called VPD, Vapor pressure deficit. I strongly recommend every new grower or old grower who has not learned it yet, To study and understand it & implement it into your room, Logging your numbers daily. https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ For soil, We generally want to go for a PH of 6.1 This website does a GREAT job of illustrating it with a nice graph & very good detailed explanation for soil. https://autoflowerseedshop.com/cannabis-ph-chart-guide/ As we briefly touched on before, During veg & early flower we want our temperature gap's nice and tight to avoid stretch. Why exactly our plants stretch in response to this is a genetic trigger being activated by the environmental stress essentially telling the plant the end of the season is closer than it really is. In veg & early flower the plant is still in its first stage of development which is to grow up wide and tall so when it produces seed, It can cast them out nicely. Remember, Whether we are growing our plants for seed or bud their genetic responses do not change as they gh sidedo not know any different. Once the plant has finished that first stage of growth by weeks 4-6 of flower with most strains, It is by day 20 of flower. Autoflowers you have to watch for it, But once the plant has finished this goal its new mission is to focus 100% on producing nice big flower clusters & to get very sticky so it can attract pollen to it successfully. So once that vertical growth is finished, We actually now want to begin to expose our plants to larger temperature swings between lights on and lights off. This will help activate that genetic response and allow us to draw out the most potential from the strain utilizing the plants genetic triggers to environmental stresses at the right times. We can also take this a step further with doing light deprivation in the last 2 weeks using less light to simulate cloud cover. Very cold feed temps on the last flush is very good too. If you do not have them already, Get yourself a good PAR meter & thermal laser temp gun to monitor your plant top temperatures & optimize how much light your plants are getting. We are currently in the middle of producing a very comprehensive tutorial series for everybody to learn from & understand how to grow the highest level craft cannabis all on their own. If this interests you please check out our youtube and subscribe. The first 2 episodes are out the next one is coming in a few days. If you should ever have any questions or need any help, Please feel free to follow my profile and shoot me a DM. I will gladly help you with the pull down & make sure you get the best quality harvest possible as it is the most important step of the entire process. I really think you would benefit from our tutorial series on youtube, Our channel is linked off our main grow diaries profile. We just put up week 3 of plant life care so you got time to subscribe and catch up before the next episode is out! I look forward to seeing you over there and hearing your feedback to better help me shape the tutorials Happy growing friend!
