Popped 5 into a shot glass of de-chlorinated water, then after 14 hours, into moistened coffee filters. l put that on top of a plate over a heat mat. I also put the plate in a large bag to keep moisture in, as it’s winter where I am and very dry due to the furnace constantly running. After 36 hours, all 5 were cracked with 1 cm taproots and went into the soil. I like making my own soil blends; I find it’s a part of the tinkering process that I love. I’m using a mix of fox farm ocean forest with coco, perlite, and worm castings. I also include some Gaia green 4-4-4 for some initial nutrition, along with some azomite. 24 hours after going into the soil, 4 of 5 are up. I’m thinking the other won’t be coming up, as it was visible that it wasn’t pushing a taproot after it first emerged from the seed. No bothers, as I’m in Ontario and am only allowed 4 plants; I just wanted a back-up seedling. I’ll be doing a style of growing I’ve implemented with good success in the past, which is a 100% Organic grow in veg, then a hybrid grow in flower, providing 1/4 to 1/3 of the recommended nutrition through salt-based nutrients, while also amending the medium with organic ingredients.
