Sending her into flower!! The roots look crazy thick, and new growth coming down once again! All of the branches have been growing very evenly, with the help of me rotating it every once in a while (one side closer to the wall than the other) and let me tell you, the stem rub is DANK.
I am looking so forward to the end results to this grow, and to see how it takes the stretch.
I added a tad more nutrients than normal, in preparation for the surge in growth hormones. My plan is to remove the Root Farm Base nutrient by the time stretch is finished, because the Plant-Prod has more than enough nitrogen in it. May also start adding more soluble seaweed after stretch as long as the little bit extra I added doesn't make my roots black and slimy.
Node spacing is pretty good, not too tight, but not too far apart either. This is the best pheno I've run for the freaks thus far, and so happy with everything so far. (Maybe it's just the grow style, and the environment, but still lol)
Still not sure about the sex, but still secretly hoping it's a male. You can smell the plant even when just simply plucking the top 2 fan leaves as they become sun blockers, and if smell correlates in any way to potency, then these is going to be some exciting results!

This girl is really plugging along, the roots are a massive heavy knot, and the leaves at the tops are starting to fold upwards and look like bud sites.
I feel, where this pheno didn't get super lanky like I see most freakshows, that I may actually get some "nugs" off this one. Instead of what I normally see, which is a ton of thrichomes loosely spread around the fan leaves.
Smells of piney fresh lemon cleaner, with lavender undertones. I get a nice smell everytime I even just brush my hand against some of the leaves. The stem rub is where the smell really shines, though.

I had a ton of stuff written here...but updating on mobile has been the bane of my existence, and it randomly decides to delete everything I've jotted down...
ANYWAY.
She has been sending herself into flower very nicely. There's a lot of growth happening on the inside which I will need to clean up, but I don't want to stress it out while it's stretching, so I will take care of the clean up after stretch has finished.
She is one thirsty girl, I've been needing to top up the reservoir almost every day. She's been drinking about 4 cups of water each time. The PPM went down to around 990-1000 from the starting point of around 1500. I don't want to add any more nutes at this moment because I will be refreshing the reservoir in a day or two anyway. I would like to add a little extra Root Farm Veggie next time because she has been showing great signs and I feel like she can handle it. I won't touch the nitrogen content until after another week and I can confirm stretch is finished, and then I will start to lower to nitrogen content I put into the water.
PH went up to 6.4/6.3 so I lowered it back down a tad to 6.
The humidity has been a little high during the night, or at least by the time I wake up and check on things (80%) but mind you that it's most likely from all the vegetables growing in the same tent. I keep the tent door open wide during the day to bring the humidity back down to around 40-50% (it's already down to 68% in less than an hour) and none of the plants seem to mind, except for the spinach, which I removed to a less humid spot.
The lid is getting very heavy when I am trying to peek on the roots and reservoir, I will need to get another set up after this run is finished, because I know for a fact I will be trying hydro again. I just love how this is turning out, and it's a lot more fun for me personally to be in total control, unlike soil, where you kind of monitor it and make sure the ecosystem is happy for your plant to thrive in it.
This is it from me til next week! Thank you all for following along! π
Beautiful plant! I came to check it out and saw you said you're nutrients arent staying stable. If you dont mind some advice, organics are really hard to successfully run in hydro. It's almost impossible to run a reservoir stable with organics in it. I use a 1 part grow and 1 part bloom chemical salts in my reservoir. It holds ph great for weeks and makes hydro enjoyable to grow in as it should be. Also 5 ph is too low. 6.0 or close to there gives you a good range to absorb all the nutrients. Best of luck with the rest of your grow
@WishiFishi, calcium absorbs better at higher ph. Ghe has a great chart that shows the best range that all nutrients absorb at. I guess this site wont let you paste links anymore though. I will definitely follow along on your grow. Love the way those freakshow leaves grow out.
@Wicked_Stix, I was actually having some calcium up take issues at the 6.3 I was sitting at, so I lowered it down a bit. I'll keep my eye out on it, I'm still learning and experimenting!
@WishiFishi, it's actually 5.5 to 6.5. At 5 you wont ever get enough cal and mag absorption. Even at 5.5 the plants will struggle to absorb. I thought you were using organics because you had fish shit listed on your nutes.
@Wyregrasser, Thank you so much π I will make a detailed review of the strain once she's finished and I've done a little smoke test! π I appreciate all the support
@WishiFishi, I'm just going to run them in solo cups and see what happens... basically testing a new fertilizer, grow dots from real growers... I added it a little heavier than recommended so maybe I can burn them a little. Thinking of flipping to 12/12 after 3 weeks to see what what they show, then re-vegging. Either way, your diary is going to help me in the long run so thank you.
@GroloCup, Good luck on your grow! When I did mine in soil, they seemed like they were always hungry, so keep that in mind! They are also relatively hard to sex, and barely need defoliation. That's about all I learned about the strain in my experience, hope it helps! I'm also going to follow along your grow :)
@WishiFishi, I've been hacking away the last day or so, looking to max out the sites before flipping... 4-7-22 is the day... hoping for ladies, or I'm going to have some pregnant Super Skunk lady with Freakshow crosses... Thats crazy that yours is so bushy, mine were going straght up with little side branching... I didn't do any training though so I should have figured...plants doing plant things... Mine looked a little bushy but it was all the crazy kale looking fan leaves...
@GroloCup,I decided against doing very much to this one, I didn't do any topping, and the only defoliation I've been doing is the top two fan leaves as they were getting too big and covering the tops. The canopy is doing it all on its own!
I still want to go in and lollipop a bit, but other than that, it's been pretty hands off. The thing I like about this strain, is it's very open to the light and airy, so it doesn't really need a lot of maintenence it seems.
@Wyregrasser, This leaf mutation is really bushy so far! Same thing happened to a few of my previous freaks, but they ended up stretching out their fingers after. Just upgraded my lights, so we will be seeing some nice changes in the near future π
