Dechlorinated water, 6.5pH, misting with humidifier to keep small tent at 80% RH.
8 of 10 seeds sprouted before planting, 2/10 shoots through 1/22. 7/10 through 1/23 and 9/10 end 1/23.
Tested base water, 186ppm with no nutrients as yet.
18/6 light cycle. Happy Frog soil, 2 weeks in Solo cups, before 1 gallon fabric pots.
Replanted into 1 gallon fabric pots, vey good root development on all 9 plants, P1,2,3 & 4 strongest, with most growth, at 5" tall and 3 nodes, others smaller but healthy. Moved into large tent, Mars TSW2000 on 25% (approx. 77W), while plants settle.
Topping next weekend, and upping the nutrients and light power ready pre-flowering.
All Gorilla's topped 2/9 and looking healthy, split into both tents 2/12. 4 shortest in left, 150W of light, 5 taller in right, 150W of light.
Keeping nutrients the same, at minimum level, each feed.
Dehumidifier is on, to get the tents down from 80% to 60-70% before flowering.
Great growth this week, topped 2/14 and again 2/16 and caught the stretch perfectly.
Most plants in pre-flowering stage now, upped the nutrients to 7.5ml/g and 2m1/g on the Golden tree.
Feeding everyday, approx. 250ml/plant.
Huge stretch on 7 of 9 plants this week, removed central fan leaves and small / lower bud sites to focus plants on top canopy. 2 plants removed into small tent, still no sign of pre-flowering, and may be males.
Heavy defoliation this week, removed all lower branches (less than 50% of plant height), stretching slowed, beautiful early flowers, the 2 slower plants now in pre-flowering too.
Added 5ml of Sweet & Sticky into the mix and plants are getting very thirsty.
Upped to lights in each tent to 75% of 230W, raised them to keep light 10" above the canopy.
Excellent week.....
Sadly lost one plant, the runt of the litter, kept drying out and hadn't really started to flower. Had to go.
The remaining 8 are flowering nicely, some trichomes forming in the flowers already and the stretch phase is done.
4 weeks to run, plants starting to yellow a little with light now at 80% / 270W in each tent and nutrients up at 1150ppm.
Flowers developing nicely, mild scent now too, lower leaves dying off and trichomes cloudy in places....I think I may have over-topped this batch of auto's and might not get any bud density...we shall see, should have 3 weeks to go for a total of 75 days growing.
73 days from seed, reduced daylight hours to 16 for this last week, and will go dark for 2 days before harvesting at 80 days. Buds still fattening, but trichomes cloudy and hairs tightening too. Nearly there, smelling ok...not over the top but very sweet and sticky to the touch.
Next time with the Auto's - I won't over top them, I think a single topping at Week 3 would have been fine.
I think I overworked and stressed these by double topping and won't get the yield I should have.
Some nice size buds, but lot's of small ones which will just be popcorn with no density.
Safely at Day 78, and 6 of the Gorilla Glues have been flushed for 3 days with pH 6 water and will be in the dark for 36 hours before harvest on 4/9.
Two plants are lagging in terms of bud size and resin, so I'm letting those go another 2 weeks, ish.
Not a huge amount of smell from these Auto's and I lost 3 plants along the way (1 seed in germination, 2 runts during the grow), so not a great endorsement for IIGM GOA seeds on this grow.
However, 6 plants are looking good, small but dense buds on 3, and larger looser buds on 2.
Trichomes nice and cloudy, and I think we'll have a pretty good hall from these 6.
Lesson learned for me on this grow, NEVER double top an Auto!
I think topping the main cola at 3 weeks was good, but the additional topping split and stressed the plants too much.
