Soaked seed for a bit more than 24 hours and put in 1 litre pot with 100% BioBizz All-Mix.
Day 1 - Spent first day in soil outdoors as my tent was still full of drying buds.
Day 2 - Light schedule set to 18-6. Still no seedling showing through soil.
Day 4 - Seedling showing through soil, this grow should be a colourful one! Growing a C4 Auto also from FastBuds alongside this girl.
Day 5 - Plant lost it's seed shell. Everything seems pretty normal till now.
Day 6 - Seedling growing nicely.
Day 8 - Purple Punch Auto seedling is growing nicely. Seems to be a tiny bit behind the C4 Auto (that I am growing along side her) when it comes to height and general leaf development and size. Watered her yesterday with 100ml of bottled water.
Day 10 - Seedling growing nicely. Second set of leaves showing. Waiting for that vegetative growth spurt! Watered her again today with 100ml of bottled water and switched on oscillating fan for some added circulation.
Day 12 - This lady is growing hassle free. Misted her today to up the humidity a bit but other than that everything is running smoothly. Noticed a little seedling growing in the medium. Must have been a hidden seed in that soil. Will keep it there for company :)
Day 15 - Lady growing nicely. Third set of leaves and first two side-branches started showing! She seems to be developing slightly faster than the C4 growing next to her, even though the Purple punch seems to be "younger" than the C4. I enjoy noticing these little details when it comes to this lovely plant we all love so much. Watered her yesterday with about 100ml of bottled water and misting daily to keep humidity up.
Day 17 - Transplanted in 7gallon pot with 20litres BioBizz All-Mix, 2litres Plagron worm castings, 1litre month old rabbit manure and 0.5l cow manure pellets. Used Mycorrhizae to help with the transplant shock and to kick-start life in the home made living soil. Watered everything in with 3litres of bottled water with minimal run-off. Will put on second light in about 2 days to give these ladies some time to recover from any transplant shock.
Leaves seem a bit droopy, nothing to be worried about. Main growth and side-branches keep developing at a steady pace. Hopefully vegetation explodes when roots settle in their new and forever home. Should start LST in about a week. Decided to try and defoliate less than last grow, just to try things in a more natural way.
Day 18 - Used nutrients for the first time. Gave them half-strength doses of both Bio-Grow and Fish-mix. Plants seem to have no effects when it comes to the transplant. Gave first round of LST to reduce general length of plant. Switched on second light, now each plant has a dedicated 100W of light.
Day 19 - Plant seems a bit droopy. I might be a bit paranoid but at least I'm not really worrying about it for now. Other than that main and side growth are developing nicely.
Day 21 - Purple Punch still seems a little bit droopy, she is growing normally. All side nodes are growing daily and so is the main stem. She just looks a bit droopy compared to the C4 growing next to her. She just looks less perky I suppose. Will water them tomorrow with half strength doses of BioGrow and Fish-Mix to keep the soil ecosystem happy.
Day 22 - Fed her 0.5ml of both BioBizz BioGrow and BioBizz Fish-Mix in 1 litre of bottled water. Bent main stem downwards again to start forming an even canopy. She is starting to perk up again finally. I was not worried, but still, deep down I knew she was not really as happy as she could be. Development of both main stem and side branches keeps moving forward. She seems to have a more compact shape than the C4 growing next to her. This grow is going to be a fun one!
Day 24 - Happy Women's Day! She is back to looking normal. All leaves perked up. Will up nutrients to full strength next week to boost the plant before she enters pre-flower. Did some more LST and light defoliation to expose side branches to more light. First set of side branches is showing first signs of side branching! She is growing in a very compact way, interested in watching her develop. Happy growing guys and gals! 😊😊😊
Day 26 - She is turning into such a pleasure to care for. She responds super well to training. Did some more LST and removed another 2 fan leaves to expose more side shoots to light. She created a natural canopy herself with minimal external pushes. No signs of flowering so far. Noticed one older leaf has some rust spots. No other leaf seems to be effected.
Day 28 - She is still bushing up! No signs of flower yet. Now side branches have side branches as well!!! Getting close to needing a drink. Will water within the next 2 days for sure and slowly transition into flower nutrients.
Day 30 - Watered yesterday using 1ml of BioBizz BioGrow and 1ml BioBizz Fish-Mix in 2 litres of bottled water. Still no sign of flowering. Branch development going steadily forward. Did some more LST and light defoliation to create an even canopy and expose new growth to more light. She is still a compact and bushy grower 😊
Day 34 - Watered her again with 2ml of BioBizz BioGrow and 2ml of BioBizz Fish-Mix in 2 litres of bottled water. She is still growing like a beast. New side branches developing almost every day. Existing growth getting fuller and bigger. Did some more LST and some light defoliation to open up the canopy and expose as much growth tips as possible to more light. Still no signs of flowering. She is going to be a big one!!!
Day 36 - Still no sign of flowers on this lady. She is growing beautifully with lush green leaves and stems growing everywhere. Did some LST and light defoliation on her to expose her lower limbs to more light and keep up with "canopy maintenance" but other than that everything seems good ☺️
On another note, I am suffering from a mild fungus gnat problem. Top soil is never left moist for long. Installed yellow sticky strips to try out as much of them down as I possibly can. They are a nuisance!
Day 37 - I might have found the source of all these fungus gnats. Under this lady's canopy was remaining damp for a longer time due to the foliage's density and the soil level being quite lower than the fabric pot's edge. So I performed some major defoliation and also removed any small side shoots that were basically sucking energy for nothing. Basically I lollipopped her. While doing so I realised that she has started flowering finally :) Hopefully will get a hold of this fungus gnat problem!
Day 38 - Plant has recovered from yesterday's training session. She stretched a bit from yesterday. Other than that everything seems normal.
Day 41 - Watered her with 1 litre of plain bottled water just to give her a short break from nutrients and because I was out of water for her :/ She is still growing, filling out from all nodes and shooting white pistils here and there. Still not in full stretch mode. I think she will be a big momma! I am loving how the canopy is forming. Not 100% level but only the main top is sticking out for now.
Day 44 - Removed some more leaves and bent down 2 branches to fix the canopy height. Pretty happy with how her canopy is forming, hopefully she stays uniform when she finishes stretching. Cleaned up the underside to promote better airflow and avoid any fluffy buds. Let's focus all that energy on them colas! Watered her with 2 litres of water plus nutrients listed above. She seems to be loving life.
Fungus gnat problem seems to be correcting itself since I removed a lot of plant mass and installed the yellow sticky pads. Other than that, everything seems dandy... 😃
Day 48 - Watered again with 2 litres of water with nutrients listed above. Removed some more fan leaves to expose lower growth as to try keep canopy as even as possible before the big stretch which I assume is happening soon. Still thinking that she is going to be a big momma! A big beautiful chunky momma!
Day 51 - This girl is still stretching and filling out. Canopy level is very dense. Removed some more lower growth to increase airflow and focus all growth to where it really matters. Watered her with 2 litres of plain water to give her a short break from feeding. I am loving the way she is growing.
Day 59 - Watered her with 2 litres of water including nutrients listed above. She is still stretching. Internodal spacing is very tight, I might he harvesting colas instead of nugs! Main cola has some purple coming out which gets me excited for some more colour. Removed some fan leaves to improve airflow and light penetration into the centre of the plant. Still quite a long way to go for her...
Day 68 - This lady still stretched a bit over the past week. She looks like she finally stopped. She has been drinking 2 litres of water every 2 days for the past couple of weeks I would say. Today I gave her 4 litres of water with the nutrients listed above to try keep the medium in a better condition for a longer time. Tried this as the medium was nearly drying out completely on the second day and watering everyday would have increased my tent humidity.
She is a very dense girl. Performing regular defoliation to increase light penetration. I really need to open her up completely when the C4 Auto next to her gets the chop in around 2 weeks. She will benefit from the increase in light penetration and air circulation for sure. Other than that she is doing lovely, no fuss and full of bud sites putting out white pistils. I'm expecting colas on this lady.
Day 73 - Stacking up bud sites like there's no tomorrow. Gave her another round of defoliation as she definitely needed more air and light penetration, especially in the centre of the plant. She needs more space than what she has for sure, I need more space than what I have for growing cannabis! 😂
Watered her yesterday with 4 litres of water including the nutrients listed above.
Day 74 - Tied down some branches to try to open her up as much as i can in the space that I currently have. I got a bit paranoid about it being still so dense in the middle, molds and stuff.
Other than that she is doing better than fine for me. She is showing some more signs of purple on the bud sites. She is definitely a beautiful girl, a big curvy beautiful girl!
Day 79 - Harvested C4 that was growing in this tent and finally I can open this lady up as much as she deserves. Tied down a couple of branches down to expose inner bud sites to more light and increase airflow through the plant.
Day 85 - Pistils slowly turning orange, especially around the top colas. She started swelling as well, packing on weight.
Taking 4 litres of water every 2 days with minimal runoff that gets sucked in within minutes. She's a very thirsty girl! Giving her nutrients listed above for two consecutive waterings and just water every third watering for a short break. Other than that she is a pleasure to care for.
Day 89 - Gave her 4 litres of water without nutrients today and cleaned up some fan leaves to expose lower leaves. Rotated plant as I noticed that one side was growing flat to the tent wall.
Will give last feed in 2-3 days and then start flushing till harvest day. She is super sticky and smells very strong. Stinks out the whole place every time I open the tent. Still packing weight and production of new white Pistils slowed down.
Should be plain sailing from now till harvest...
Day 92 - Skipped last planned feeding and gave only 4 litres of water. She started fading. Trichomes are mostly cloudy with some clear ones and the rare ember one here and there.
She smells very sweet with a slight funk undertone. Most buds are very dense. Some popcorn nugs at the bottom as expected. Even though I lollipopped her. No worries, more for the hash pile.
Harvest is going to take long for sure. Started yesterday and only managed to manicure most big colas. Trimming wet due to only one reason; my dry tent is very small compared to what I need (again my fault) so I'm removing as much plant mass as possible due to being scared shitless of problems with high humidity. Will continue later on and finish most of the rest and will be surely done by tomorrow.
Buds are very dense and encrusted in trichomes. Some light purple hues pop out here and there around most buds. Smells very fruity but not overly sweet. Remind me of some tart berries 🙂
