Starting this beautiful and old school strain from Barney's Farm, solid reputation seed bank. Since I was a kid and heard Cheech Marin talking about Acapulco Gold, always had a great curiosity.
Starting out on a small 200ml cup, and plan to do the repot on week nro 2. Until then just ph balanced water.
Using spider farm led light with the dimable knob, I have 60cm from the plant on 50% power.
Day 12 -Second week of vegetation, still in her littler container, I'm planning to repot her either today or tomorrow, in my opinion she is ready for it.
Giving PH controlled water, no nutes. I water her once a day, very small amounts, I just make sure the water reaches the bottom of the pot.
So far so good, I'm eager to see how she reacts with the repot, I think she will do fine, this seems a very solid and sturdy strain, no hickups yet.
Regarding nutes, I will introduce GH trio, half the dosage, beggining week 3, slow and low makes the show go.
The plan is to top her around week 3 and start LST and main-lining, if she keeps this healthy rythm.
Day 14 - Did the repot and everything went smooth, healthy strong roots, should have taken some pics, for sure, next time. There was no repot shock, which proves how robust is this strain, big shout out for Barney's.
Started giving nutrients, very little amount, 0,6ml/L of the GH Flora Trio plus 0.5ml/l of CalMag. The PH always on 6. She is drinking 80ml to 100ml per day, will increase the dosage as she gets bigger.
So far so good, letting her do her thing, auto pilot phase. Got this drip system, works wonders, basically don't need to check the grow room until topping day, which it will be around day 22.
Last entry of week number 2.
Day 18 - Decided to do the topping a bit earlier, she is a fast grower, she could handle the shock. Will start the training as soon as those two branches are big enough to strap them down. The overall goal is to have 4 single main colas, no popcorn buds, no class B, just 4 class A buds. That's the goal.
She is having 0,6ml/L of GHE Flora trio, plus 0,5ml/L of CalMag. I might increase the dosage next week.
Day 21 - Started the mainlining process, she is adapting well to it. Also increased the nutes to the recomended amount. Temp and RH are always stable, light increase to 60% and the PH always at 6.0. Gonna do the training for at least 2 to 3 weeks and then switch her to flower on week 5 or 6. I'm growing this baby on a 1meter hight tent, so, no much space, and really want her to be a dwarf.
Last entry of week number 3.
day 25 - no changes on temp, RH and nutes. This will be unchanged until pre-flower. I keep training her. Gonna keep nodes 1 / 3 and 5 from each side. Nodes 2 and 4 they grow the oposite side, so if I wanted to have them I would have to twist branches and what not. It's easier for me and for the plant. She is doing well, a lot of shock and slow growth when doing this method, but it pays off at the end (my opinion).
day 29 - keep on defoliating bigger leaves and keeping her as horizontal as I can. Did a small cleaning of the soil, with Kleen Flush 0,5/L, to avoid accumulation of salts. I'm aiming for 8 main colas, but I feel tempted to have more...I'm growing on a really small tent, and I know as soon as she's goes into flower, she will take advantage of that 9L. pot.
This is the last entry of week number 4.
day 33 - Did the final two toppings and a lot more defoliation. Made my mind and gonna go for 12 tops. She is still pretty small, but with so much defoliation she gets a lot of shock. Now its just a matter of waiting and trying to keep her as horizontal as I can. I had in mind switching her to flower on week 7, lets see how she grows, from my previous experince she will have a grow spike soon. No changes on temp, RH, just hiked up CalMag to 1ml/L.
day 36 - I keep pushing the LST forward, already have 4 tops under control. I can tell she is entering a spike grow phase, the stems are getting bigger and thicker, leaves are growing faster and she is drinking much much more, safe to say, she is being watered 200ml per day. At the end of each week, I always perform a 24h kleen flush, so there are no acumulated salts. This is last entry of week number 5.
day 40 - the training is coming to an end, gonna wait for those branches to become bigger so I can tie them to the edge of the vase and then scrog eventually. Right now I'm starting a flush so that next week I can hike up the nutrient dosage to pre-flower feed chart. My plan is, on day 43 to 45, send the plant to a 36h on day dark period before 12/12 cycle. I was hoping that the plant would be bigger around this time but at least I already have the 12 branches defined, which is kind of ok for a month and a half.
day 46 - gave her 36h of darkness from day 43 to day 45. Now she has entered the flowering cycle, 12/12. She was about 5 days on a mild flush before hiking her nutrition. Did some defoliation, now I'll try to go easier on her, she is a bit resentfull towards training, but a great strain neither the less, congrats to Barney's Farm, top pros. She is still drinking 170ml per day, at least thats what I have setted up on the watering system. I keep checking the weight of the vase, never too heavy, never to light, so, so far so good. I expect her to start drinking a little bit more from now on.
day 53 - nothing has changed since week 7.
Did one last defoliation 3 days ago, I have stopped with LST for now as well. Introduced some fulvic acid, came across with it at the local store, read some reviews about it and gonna give a shot.
RH dropped to 40%, heat is around 26 degrees celsius. Gonna leave it in auto pilot for one more week.
I took into consideration one suggestion from a fellow grower, and reduced the watering, even though there was no drooping, but neither the less, I did some reducement.
Did some scheduling today, this girl ought to be ready around the 22nd of May, maybe later, because I like 70%, give or take, of amber trycomes. So, she has still a long way to go.
As you can see from the pics, SCROG is awaiting.
week number 9 / flowering days 18 / total days 60
Wow a lot has happened in one week. All the bud sites are fully developing, color has changed in this flowering phase, very healthy colors IMO, slight smell coming when I open the tent but very very mild.
She is still in auto pilot, I have been watering her two to three times a week, with PH controlled water and GHE nutes. This is the last week using fulvic acid.
I'm going to do a small flush with GHE Flore Kleen before I move into the flowering feeding doses.
I really wanna SROG her, those electric cables won't hold her down for that long, but I need more stretch.
Temps always around the 26 to 28 degrees C, during dark period it drops to 18 to 20. The RH always around 40%. I have a Spider Farmer AC with digital control, so it's very easy for me to have RH and temps under control.
Well I guess that's it for this week, more info in 7 days.

Good evening.
Auto pilot now, the bud sites keep on growing, those buds grew around 5cm in one week, it's ok IMO, she has still one month and a half to go.
Smell is still very mild, just a vague odor when I open the tent, but fades away fast.
I gave her around 1lt of PH controlled water with nutrients on Monday morning, its Wednesday night and the soil is humid under 6cm of depth. My way to check the need of water is to check the weight of the pot. So either tomorrow night or Friday morning I'll give her another liter. Doesn't seem to me that she is a big drinker.
Temps and RH still the same, no change. Again, I recommend the Spider Farmer AC 4" with the digital control. It costs 99€ with shipping costs included, it's a bargain for what you get. I mean, it suits me, small grower, small space, small plant. No ideas of grandeur, just enough medicine for me.
Well, that's it for week number 10, according to my schedule, she has 7 more weeks to go, quite exciting to see how she will end up

Hey there, good evening.
This week I started with a small flush with Flora Kleen, and added GHE Ripen to help those buds to get fat and juicy :) damn!!! Humm, I think I'm on my way to end up with a small and cute bonsai, she is not growing that much now, and don't think she will have a grow spike.
I don't want to draw any conclusions, she has still a long way in front of her, but, it seems to me that main-lining was not the best option with this plant, but let's wait.
Temps and RH always the same, 1lt of water with nutrients every 3 days, and that's it.
Thank you so much for those who check out this grow. If you have any advice or ideas or new technics please let me know.
More info in 7 days.

Hello there.
One week has gone by and you can tell from the photos that she is maturing. Some pistils are becoming brown, more thricomes forming on those sugar leaves, she is on her way.
So, drove to the local grow store, and after a long chat with the owner I was convinced to invest on GHE pro feeding nutrients. The owner recomended to start using Mineral Magic (Silica) and just to give 2 drops of Pro Bloom, that should be enough for this cycle. Silica is quite great for overal performance of the plant, and can be fed until flush time. Because this Mineral Magic powder is rich in magnesium, I decided to take out of the feeding the CalMag.
From now on I expect those buds to swell, to be filled with more and more thricomes, smell to become more intense (even though she has a very mild and fresh smell, very pleasant indeed).
Alright, that's it for week number 12. More info in 7 days!

Good evening growers.
Flushing times :) Acapulco Gold is a fine lady now, mature, milky trichomes, some ambering, especially on sugar leaves, strong smell now, jive vibes everytime I open the tent.
Started flushing her yesterday with 1,5 lt. of 6ph water and 3ml/L with FloraKleen. Gonna pump her again with 1,5lt on Friday. Gonna keep a very close eye on those trichomes, I wanna give her some dry time before lights out. Last stage, 36 hours of darkness and harvest.
I have been taking away gradually some fan leaves that are yellowing, I want her to throw her last energy into those buds. They are soooo juicy and sticky, and rock hard. A dream, a dream....
I gues that's it, more info in 7 days, probably the last !!

Hello there, it's Wednesday, update day.
Those buds have goten really fat since I started flushing with FloraKleen. The smell is very strong now, my carbon filter can't seem to be handling the jive.
She already has plenty of amber trichomes on the sugar leaves and a few on the buds, so arghhh I just might wait one more week or two, I believe those buds can get even denser and harder.
Can't wait to try her, she is so good looking and the smell is so appealing, I hope she will be top smoke.
I was re - reading recently Jorge Cervantes Encyclopedia, and I came across an interesting experiment. After you harvest, you can switch her back to 18/6 and she will start her cycle again 😑😵 HOLLA 😑😵. So, since I'm so close to harvesting stage, I'm going to head that way, ain't got nothing to lose, on the opposite. I will report it here, of course.
That's it for this week, more info in 7 days!!

Hello there.
Final report of the life of Acapulco Gold, she has reached the breeder's recomended time of flower, and I quite agree with that recomendation. She didn't put any weight in this last week, just some pistils become browner, all trichomes are milky and many amber on the sugar leaves.
She hasn't had any water for 3 days now, I always like to give some dry time before harvest, not enough to kill her, but just enough to make harvest rather easy.
I'm very very curious about yield, she is so small but those buds are rock hard, extremely dense, wonder how much weight she will lose with the drying, I hope I'll have a nice surprise.
The smell is so intense, it just smells so old school, it's that unmistakable fragance of Cannabis, not flowers this, no bla bla that, just good old weed smell. Damn, I am so thrilled. Fingers crossed for me trying it a week from today.
If she survives the dry time and the harvest, I will re-veg her and try to pump her back to life.
Thank you so much for those who have visited my grow and helped with advice and kind words.
More info after harvest :)

So here we are, harvest went down very smoothly. The buds are very very hard and dense, very strong smell.
Before triming I got 120gr and after triming it went down to 100gr.
Now I will let it dry for a minimum of 5 days, I will check those branches everyday. I don't agree with letting snap instead of bending. I followed that method of letting the branch snap way too many times, and always end up with airy over-dryed buds, which really pisses me off.
Looking back I could have followed two different paths in order to get a bigger yield. One, just topping and let it go, no training what so ever. Two, after the training was done, let it recover for at least a month, this plant had some dificulties recovering from the training sessions. But it served me as experience, and for those who read too.
Well well well well, guess who came back from the dead? YES!! Acapulco Gold, after a month on the window sill, getting very heavy sun light decided to reward me with another cycle :) I am so happy with my vaping sessions that I'm gonna keep this girl and turn it into a mother plant, what an amazing strain.
So here it is, well documented that you can bring this plant from the dead :) "if you die before you die, you don't die when you die" :)
