Jammin’ *No Nutes

Mephisto Genetics, Jammy Dodgers auto 10 gallon container with KIS Organics Biochar soil mix Blumat drip irrigation, 5” and 9” carrot sensors, moisture meter The plan is to go “water only”. I’ll just top dress with compost and add some microbes (Mammoth P and maybe Recharge). First time using a watering system, should be interesting. 2/2/22 - Soaked seed in diluted hydrogen peroxide 8 hrs, then into compost water for about 10 hrs. Planted seed directly into the 10 gal container with a little Dynomyco in the hole. Kept light on 24/7. ☀️ Day 1 - 2/6/22, sprouted 🌱 ☀️ Day 7 - She’s growing well, right on track. I’ve been watering by hand just a bit around the seedling, but I do think that I’m getting the irrigation dialed-in pretty well.

Week 2: 2/13 - 2/19 ☀️ Day 10 - Growing well, looking healthy. The Blumat system seems to be working as advertised. After some tweaking the moisture has been holding steady around 100mb (that’s the sweet spot for this soil according to KIS). I haven’t done any manual watering the last couple of days. ☀️ Day 12 - She’s jammin’ 🎶🎸🇯🇲 ☀️ Day 14 - All good. Not having to deal with manual watering is great! She’s looking really healthy. Last grow both my plants started showing minor nutrient issues at this point from what I think was an imbalance in the COM soil. But this KIS soil seems spot-on so far.

Week 3: 2/20 - 2/26 ☀️ Day 16 - All good. Top dressed with Build-A-Flower/compost, about a cup. ☀️ Day 18 - It’s time to decide whether to top or not. I could top above the 4th node now. I’ve never topped before but I like the idea of an even canopy. I don’t know whether I can bring myself to snip her head off though. ☀️ Day 20 - I still haven’t decided on topping. But it needs to happen tomorrow or the next day, or not at all. She’s grown a lot this week! I hand watered with a small dose of Mammoth P today. ☀️ Day 21 - I topped her, just above the 5th node. The main reason was concern about headroom in my tiny tent. It’ll be interesting to see how it goes 🤞

Week 4 - 2/27-3/5 ☀️ Day 23 - All good. The topping 2 days ago didn’t seem to bother her at all. ☀️ Day 26 - Everything is A-OK. Gave a small dose of Mammoth P today. Snipped off the lowest couple of leaves, they were touching the ground. Tucked some fan leaves. ☀️ Day 28 - I’m glad I topped her, otherwise I’m sure height would have been a problem. It still might be. The 10 gallon container is probably overkill. And I need a bigger tent.

Week 5: 3/6-3/12 ☀️ Day 31 - It’s the stretch week and she’s taking off! So far, this water-only grow is going great. ☀️ Day 34 - She’s grown 13” in the last 6 days. Starting to get a bit stinky. Drinking a lot but the Blumat is keeping up. It’s so nice not to be watering by hand. I’m not even pHing the water, just checking the ppm of the distilled+tap mix. Gave her a dose of Mammoth P yesterday.

Week 6; 3/13-3-19 ☀️ D37, 3/14 - All good. She’s 30” and I’ve raised the light as high as it will go (it’s strapped directly up against the top tent bar). Blooming nicely and loaded with bud sites. ☀️ D40, 3/17 - 36” tall (46” with the pot). The stretch has slowed down a lot the last couple days, hopefully it’s stopped. She’s only 14.5” from the light and it can’t be raised any further. Gave her a dose of Mammoth P and threw on a bit of compost.

Week 7; 3/20-3/26 ☀️ D43, 3/20 - 39” tall and only 12” away from the light. I’ve got the light at 75%, so only about 100w. I’m hoping it works out. She’s still super healthy and with no added nutrients. This KIS Biochar soil is amazing. ☀️ D47, 3/24 - 42” tall, 9” from light. I’ve rigged a separated side light through the open tent door. This way I can turn down the power on the top light. Hope it works out. She’s doing great, buds everywhere! Gave her dose of Mammoth P today.

Week 8, 3/27-4/2 ☀️ D51, 3/28 - All good. The lighting seems to be working out. Buds are building, but a bit slowly. This makes sense though, Mephisto states 70-80 days which is longer than most of their strains. I’m figuring she’ll be 90-100 days. Still no nutrients and she’s very healthy, it’s pretty amazing. ☀️ Day 55, 4/1 - The buds are slowly filling out, getting some frost. Other that a little light burn she’s a happy plant. Gave her a dose of Mammoth P yesterday.

Week 9, 4/3-4/9 ☀️ D58, 4/4 - Not much change since last update. The buds are building slowly but steadily. Lighting is still a concern. The light burn is not too bad at this point, but I also hope she’s getting enough light overall. ☀️ D62, 4/8 - The buds are still pretty small & airy. They have a lot of new calyxes so they are growing, just slowly. She still has another month to go, so they’ll fatten up. They are very frosty! 👍 Dose of Mammoth P today.

Week 10, 4/10-4/16 Not much to report for this week. Showing some signs of age, starting to fade a bit. Lighting situation still a concern, hoping the light burn didn’t affect the upper buds too much. They’re still slowly fattening up. No photos

Week 11, 4/17-4/23 ☀️ D74, 4/20 - Happy 420! 🎉 She’s doing fine. The buds are still smaller than I’d like, but I’m more interested in quality than quantity anyway.

Week 12, 4/24-4/30 ☀️ D80, 4/26 - She’s hanging in there. The buds have gotten a bit chunkier. The upper sugar leaves got torched pretty bad from the light burn, but the trichs on the buds look fine. 80 days with only water, compost and Mammoth P. I’m really happy with how it’s turning out.

Week 13, 5/1-5/7 ☀️ D87, 5/3 - She’s getting close. It looks like the soil is about tapped out of nutrients, but it doesn’t matter much at this point. I can only give her another week at the most due to an upcoming trip, but that should be enough.
