GreenOrganicGermany The first week has gone very well. Just a few hours after moistening, the seed began to germinate. After I planted it in the soil, it didn't even take 24 hours for the little Sweetheart to see the light of my LED lamp. The temperature in my box is 25.5° during the day and 20° Celsius at night. The humidity is at 65%. My baby isn't getting any nutrients from me yet. It's being grown in a Light Mix, which I've enriched with mycorrhizal cultures.

GreenOrganicGermany So far, I'm very satisfied with the progress. The Fat Banana is doing well; I can't see any signs of deficiency or stress problems. On day 10, my little one got fed for the first time. I opted for a light Fish-Mix solution since I've had good results with it in the past. Let's see how it goes from here :-)

GreenOrganicGermany Tag 14 - Today we’re starting a new week. I’m very satisfied with the progress of this round so far. My little Fat Banana looks healthy and shows strong growth. I will probably transplant her later this week. Whether I will do a topping or just work with LST, I will decide on Day 21. A little update for Day 15: The little lady is showing a slight nutrient deficiency. So, I’m giving her an extra dose of nitrogen through a foliar feed. Also, a little extra CalMag to prevent calcium deficiency. I can rule out a nutrient lockout since I adjust the pH to 6.5 with every watering. The pH of the runoff is between 6.3-6.4. Day 19: Today, the little fat banana got a new home. I transplanted her into a 20-liter fabric pot. This one is prepared with 3 Biotabs, and the soil is activated with compost. I’m very satisfied with the root development. They look healthy and strong, and there’s no sign of root circling. I inoculated the root ball with 3 grams of mycorrhiza before transplanting. Her slight deficiency symptoms are still a bit concerning, let’s see if I’ve managed to address them with the additional nutrient boost. This should show in the next few days. Day 20: Today she received a foliar feed to eliminate the deficiency symptoms.

GreenOrganicGermany Day 21, a new week begins. Unfortunately, my little fat banana showed slight deficiency symptoms last week. To address this, I resorted to foliar feeding and an increased dose of Cal/Mag. The treatment and repotting went well for the little one. I will be eagerly watching how she develops in the coming days. I assume that the Bio Tabs in the substrate will slowly start to take effect as well. This has thrown my schedule a bit off, and I will probably have to wait a few more days for her first topping. Patience is required. Day 23: She has completed her topping! I cut the tip of the main stem at the height of the 3rd node to create an even canopy. Now she gets a bit of rest to recover from all the stress. Day 27: The last day of week 3. She handled the topping very well. She looks healthy and strong and is growing quickly. Today I performed some LST to create a more even canopy.

GreenOrganicGermany Day 28, a new week begins. The little fat banana is no longer quite so small! She looks very good, her healthy green and strong leaves adorn my grow box =D This week I will start with LST to open up the canopy and keep it at an even height. I will proceed slowly and carefully to avoid stressing her too much. Day 29: Today the training continued. Day 31: My little lady is getting a day off today. So far, I am very satisfied with the progress of the LST. The plant seems to handle it well. The shoots are quickly straightening up again, and overall she looks very robust. Day 34: Today I trained her a bit more and removed some of the large fan leaves. This way, the lower side shoots should get a bit more light and even better ventilation. Tomorrow will be her last day with an 18/6 light schedule; I will switch to flowering ;-)

GreenOrganicGermany Tag 36: Today the flowering begins! =D I set the timer to 12 hours this morning, and now it’s time to go. Of course, there are no noticeable differences in the banana yet. But I think it looks great, so here are a few new pictures =D This week, I will continue with the LST carefully, but I will give it a few days of rest so it can handle the light change well. In the heating cellar, a compost tea is currently brewing. I will feed it to her in 24 to 36 hours and hope it provides her with extra energy. In the past, this has always worked well =D

GreenOrganicGermany Day 43, a new week has begun. After last week was relatively uneventful, I'm excited to start flowering week 2. So far, I'm very happy with her growth. She's strong and healthy and has developed what I think is an excellent canopy. I'll keep watching how she grows! Right now, I think another LST is unnecessary. This week, top feeding is planned. For this, I'm using RQS Bat guano, which I've had very good experiences with in the past. Additionally, she's getting a few spoonfuls of worm poop from my own worm farm. Furthermore, I'll be removing the lowest leaves and shoots throughout the week to ensure adequate ventilation and reduce popcorn buds. Day 45, a little update: I've decided to do another LST to open up the canopy a bit. I also had to stabilize two shoots with a wooden stick. They were slightly bent after they got acquainted with my Jack Russell Terrier. But I expect they'll recover quickly. Learned something again: Never leave your grow box open. Not even for a moment =D Additionally, I've removed some of the large fan leaves and the lowest shoots.

GreenOrganicGermany New week, new luck. After her somewhat unpleasant encounter with my Jack Russell lady, she seems to be doing better this week; the bend in one of the shoots has healed well. It looks like she has also overcome the stretch and is now starting to form (hopefully thick and sticky =D) buds. I've brewed a compost tea again for this week. Additionally, I cleaned and disinfected my grow box today to reduce the risk of mold or other issues during flowering. I will probably remove some of the larger fan leaves, but at the moment I don't see a need for that. Day 54: Today my lady got a PIKZ-dominant compost tea. She has something good to munch on again =D Otherwise, she's doing quite well. To avoid stressing her further, I've decided not to remove any leaves or shoots this week. This way, she should be able to fully regenerate the broken shoot. It looks good anyway. However, next week she can expect a little workout again. The week is coming to an end, and I'm quite satisfied with the progress. As mentioned, I've left her completely alone for the last few days so she could fully regenerate.

GreenOrganicGermany Today is the first day of the 4th week of flowering! As with every week, I thoroughly cleaned and disinfected my box today. The banana got its first workout in a few days. Since the break in the stem has healed excellently by now, it had to lose some of its large leaves today. Of course, I also removed the new branches in the lower area of the lady. So far, I’m quite satisfied with her growth; she’s forming strong and sticky buds and is already starting to sparkle =D She shows no deficiencies. I have lowered the humidity further. It has settled around 53 to 55%, but can easily be lowered further. This week, I will of course give her a hearty tea again. A little update on day 62: Two of the stems show a noticeably lighter color compared to the others. Very interesting! I will keep an eye on it^^ Additionally, I discovered some rust-brown spots on two of the larger fan leaves. I definitely need to keep a watchful eye on that to quickly identify any potential deficiency or light stress. Day 63: The last day of this flowering week has begun. Madame is actually showing the beginnings of a calcium deficiency, so I’ve slightly increased her calmag dosage and treated her to an additional feeding. This should resolve the issue over the next week. Otherwise, not much has happened =D I haven’t trained her any further yet. However, I might try to increase the spacing between the stems a bit to make the canopy more open. We’ll see how that goes at the beginning of next week. I hope it continues like this =D Right now, I assume she will need at least 5 more weeks to mature.

It is called "variegation" and is caused by a slight vascular problem in the affected leaves. It does not pose a problem for the plant and it is not a result of anything regarding nutrition, disease, pH, lighting or something that you have done. It is just a random occurrence and can be quite common in cannabis plants. It can not be prevented or remedied, it is nothing to be worried about and it will not affect growth rates, yields or potency. It could be likened to how some people get freckles. Great pictures of the exact problem too, a lot of people should take note! Hope this helps, Organoman.

GreenOrganicGermany The last week went fairly calmly overall. I skipped further LST and the removal of leaves. Unfortunately, I noticed that they developed a slight calcium deficiency. Therefore, I increased their Calmag dosage from 1 to 1.5ml/L. This week, I will remove some of the larger or older leaves as well as young shoots in the lower area. I'm also considering opening up the canopy a bit with some light LST. For that, I will take them out of the box to see if they would be okay with it =D Otherwise, I started preparing another tea today. This week it's mushroom-dominated again. However, it still needs a few days before I can feed it to them. So far, I am overall satisfied with their development. Day 67: Today, I removed some of the large fan leaves. In the next few days, a few more will follow, but I’m taking it very slowly to avoid stressing them too much.

GreenOrganicGermany A new week begins =D Today, the box was thoroughly cleaned again. I noticed that the rubberized binding wire has started to mold slightly in two places. I cleaned the affected areas immediately. Nothing alarming, but I will keep a close eye on the problem. Otherwise, I removed some leaves today and propped up two of their stems. The buds are slowly getting fat and frosty; the weight is giving them a bit of a struggle =D A good "problem," in my opinion =D The humidity is currently at 48-52%, which I am quite satisfied with. I'm very curious to see how they develop over the next few days; the really hot phase is starting to kick in. They are developing a very interesting smell. I can't really define it, fruity... just extremely sweet =D Day 76: The buds have swollen significantly. Rock hard and very sticky. A large part of the trichomes have already turned cloudy, and some have taken on an amber color. Thus, the last days of the lady are beginning. I estimate that she will be harvested by the end of the week. Let's see how quickly she ripens. Timing is perfect since she has already started to eat herself =D According to RQS, the Fat Banana is a very strong strain. Since I want to enjoy it as good night weed, I will definitely wait until about 30% of the trichomes have turned amber.

GreenOrganicGermany Today is the first day of her probably last week of flowering. A large part of the trichomes have turned milky, and more and more are transitioning to amber. I will wait until about 30% are amber, then she will be harvested. I am very satisfied. She has a few beautiful, rock-hard buds. Sticky, very strong smelling, and unable to hold herself up. Heavy. Very heavy =D Everything is fine =D Her smell is fruity sweet. Almost artificially sweet. In any case, it's hard to define =D I am incredibly looking forward to the end product =D All in all, this round has gone very well. Aside from a late calcium deficiency, she hasn't caused any problems. However, she was/is very hungry^^ I have finally lowered the humidity to 40-42%. I just don't want to take any risks at the end and hope to reduce the mold risk to an absolute minimum. Day 80: Her life is definitely coming to an end. Day by day, more trichomes are taking on an amber color, and there are no clear ones left to be found. She isn't getting any more water either. The tension is rising =D Day 82: Today is the day! After 47 days of flowering, over 30% of her trichomes have turned amber, just the way I like it =D So she was harvested today. I am thrilled! Beautifully heavy and rock-hard buds. Very sticky, frosty, and an amazing sweet smell. And that after just 47 days of flowering! Once the entire process is complete, I will expand my diary and, of course, add some nice pictures.

GreenOrganicGermany Tag 85, a new week begins! However, the first day of this week is the last day of her life; she will be harvested tomorrow! I actually planned to harvest her last week. However, I decided to let her go for a few more days to get a few more amber trichomes. The ratio is now about 40%, and I’m hoping for a strong good night indica =D She hasn't gotten any water for a few days now. Slowly but surely, the soil is bone dry. I've already removed many of the dead and yellowing leaves. Her smell is very strong. Sweet. Somewhat artificially sweet, like fruit candies, but not easily definable. Definitely very tasty and a dress rehearsal for my activated carbon filters! At first glance, she seems to be yielding quite well. I can only say more once the beauty is cut and dried. All in all, I’m already very satisfied with this round.

GreenOrganicGermany My first attempt with the little fat banana =D And I am quite satisfied! It grows very quickly, compactly, and responds well to topping and later LST. Personally, I would always recommend LST for this strain! It forms a very dense canopy with many, very compact buds. Just like a typical Kush grows =D Towards the end of flowering, I had to support some of the stems as they could no longer bear their own weight. Overall, it had a very high nutrient requirement; I had to counteract with Calmag during the middle phase of flowering, and it gratefully accepted every compost tea. All in all, it's extremely low-maintenance, and I would definitely recommend it to beginners. During flowering, it developed an excellent smell. Fruity and extremely, almost artificially sweet. Maybe comparable to fruit candies. This smell developed a slightly earthy scent during drying, which reminded me much more of a Kush. And it tastes like that too: earthy, with a fruity sweet finish. Really very very delicious! And that’s already after about 3 weeks in the jar. I am very curious to see how its aromas will develop! Now for the yield: It produced some very decent, rock-hard buds. Wet, it was 471.1 grams, dried and trimmed it came to 60.21 grams. Not outstanding, but a very very good average!

Hey there friend I would love to offer you some advice to help you out along your path to learning to grow if that would be okay with you? So cannabis plants love heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it, If we capitalize on this in veg we can get much more vigorous and healthy growth from our plants, Your lights on temps are great. 80-84 is all good & no more than 9 degrees less when the lights go off. I would recommend shoring up those nighttime temps slightly. We want to keep our temperature gaps in veg and early flower nice and tight between lights on and lights off. If we allow for more than 10 degrees less at this stage with lights off it will signal the plants to stretch. We do not want that, I would look to warm your room up with lights off temps. As I stated earlier in veg & early flower we want our temp gaps tight. Once our plants finish growing vertically by weeks 4-6 of flower we want to open that temp gap up beyond more than 10 degrees less with lights off. Instead of causing stretch, the response has now changed & the plant will now send extra energy into the budding process and resin production. Also growing buds at too low of temps we will lose out on a lot of size but they will be dense & caked. Too hot & they will be big but very airy and prone to fox-tailing and have much less cake. The best of both worlds seems to be growing buds at max temps of 77-80 lights on & slowly widening the gap beyond 10 degrees less each week with lights off once your plants have finished their vertical growth. Look up VPD, Vapor pressure deficit and how it relates to growing cannabis. All new growers should learn this right away, Also if you have not gotten them yet get yourself a good PAR meter & a thermal laser temp gun like the fluke 62 MAX. These pieces of equipment will help you grow to your plants needs much better and get the most potential out of your lights.
