kizdog - NEW LIFE! π Hey guys, so this time round Iβm growing Mimosa x Orange Punch π by Barneyβs Farm, and Northern Lights π‘ by Silver Leaf. Two hard-hitting indicas, Iβm super excited to see what kind of results I can achieve.
- Seeds became wet on 12/3/22 so I shall count that as day 1! With that in mind, the seeds sank in their cups after about 12 hours, and they were put straight into paper towels after that.
- Day 3: The tap roots were finally long enough to be placed into jiffy plugs. I then left them inside a propagator on a heat mat, watering when needed.
- Day 6: Northern Lights transplant into coco! Just a 0.3L pot for now
- Day 8: Mimosa also transplanted into 0.3L pot with coco (Ecothrive Coco Lite)
- Will be putting these girls in my 2x4 after I harvest the Biscotti Mintz & clean the area. Big things to come!!

kizdog Got the girls into the 2x4 tent this week! They look pretty happy, however the Northern Lights seems like it needs an issue fixing. The two first serrated leaves became a little discoloured and started praying vertically. Seems to be under control though. The MxOP is a tad less developed than her sister, but sheβs coming along nicely. Really excited to start training these girls, Iβve got big dreams for them! I wish my tap water had a lower EC, Iβd like to use more CalMag without going over my EC limit. Iβve been fertigating 4 times a day, starting at lights on with 5 hour intervals between. πππ‘π³π

kizdog Been a very slow week for them this time round. I believe the coco may have been stored somewhere with too high humidity, or my nutrient solution has been too strong in terms of EC. It could also be a case of low temperature and low humidity in the tent, my environment hasnβt been ideal. The environment issue is completely my fault, but Iβve since adjusted the humidifier settings and swapped out the heating mat for a tube heater, as the girls are no longer in the propagator and the mat isnβt very powerful.
Iβve ordered a new bag of coco, so Iβm waiting until that comes to transplant these girls. Hopefully after that, Iβll see some improvement from them.
Northern Lights: much bigger than MxOP, but within a few days of new leaves forming, they end up looking like they do in the pics. Let me know if you can advise anything!π‘

kizdog Welcome! Iβve seen some good progress from the girls this week. After transplanting on Monday (day 17), the plants started looking much healthier. Usually, I would have transplanted into a second container (3L-9L) before the final 20L pot, but Iβve seen a few people try it this way and wanted to see if thereβs any noticeable differences.
Iβm ready & excited to start training. I love being hands-on with the plants, doing LST, topping or defoliating. Canβt wait!! πβ΅οΈ
Northern Lights ππ‘almost ready to top! Once the plant has 6 nodes, Iβm going to start establishing my manifold. The discolouration I was seeing seems to have stopped, so things are looking good!

kizdog Yo! This week has felt like a long one, both girls in the tent seem to be showing signs of high pH in the root zone, but Iβm doing my best to adjust the pH with my Bluelab pen and Growth Technologyβs pH down. These girls havenβt had the best start, and I probably should be on here or Twitter asking for advice, but the plants are making progress.
Northern Lights ππ‘ Topped on day 22! Nice consistent rate of growth since the topping, in fact sheβs almost ready for her 2nd topping treatment. Sheβs seriously speeding ahead of her roommate. Got some high hopes for this strain.
Thanks for reading, have a great day!

kizdog Hello from the girls this week! Things have been looking up; both plants seem to be loving the environment. Itβs a little cold in the tent, but Iβm ensuring the VPD remains above 0.6 kPa. Expecting to keep them on 18/6 for another 2 weeks I think, but weβll see. Just going to get the soft ties on and see how they look after some further LSTβing
Northern Lights ππ‘ Damn!!! This girl is seriously looking to get places. Nice spacing between each node, sheβs responding well to LST, and each of my 8 main stalks are looking consistent and healthy. Already envisioning how sheβll look at the end of flower π€€
So excited to see how these girls measure up against each other, as this is my first time having multiple plants in the same tent for a whole cycle. Buzzing!! ππ

kizdog Whatβs up folks?! This is the final week of veg! Iβll be switching the timer to 12/12 later today. Still a little bit cold in the tent, which shouldnβt be as much of a problem after the flip. I set up the ScrOG net, attaching it to the four corners of the tent. Iβd love to be able to get my hands on some of those grow tent booster poles for a 2x4 but I canβt seem to find any. Iβve begun adding potassium silicate to my solution, too. Keeping pH between 5.8 - 6.2
Northern Lights ππ‘ Oh no! On day 42, her stem split! I was performing LST all at once, and I think I made a few mistakes putting too much strain on the main stem. Not ideal, but I basically wrapped the wound with grafting tape, and Iβm just going to hope it doesnβt restrict any trunk growth or get mouldy under there. Especially after that stem necrosis issue I had with my last grow, Biscotti Mintz. Take a look on my profile to see what Iβm talking about! Just going to hope sheβs okay. I should probably ask for some advice on here, too.
Letβs get these girls onto flower and see how they look next week! πΏππ»

kizdog Officially into flower! The girls have been looking really happy and healthy, slowly filling out the tent and creating a really nice canopy. I added a second fan to increase circulation and the leaves are dancing in the breeze. The girls are growing into the net nicely, I actually think I might add another soon but weβll see. Also had an issue with a plug getting too hot and melting an extension lead. I donβt wanna talk about it π€£ Hoping they donβt get too tall as my tent is only 72β tall and Iβve already had to raise the MxOP to the same height as the NL, but if that happens Iβll just turn the light down to 75%. Keeping pH between 6 - 6.2. Light at 1000 mol/m2/s in the middle of the canopy.
Northern Lights ππ‘ Recovering nicely from her split last week, nothing seems to have permeated the grafting tape bandage. Sheβs a beast! Lovely spacing between the nodes gives lots of opportunity for training. I tried some of those plant bends on her, and they worked a treat I think! Canopy is under control and looks great. Sheβs drinking a lot more than her roommate, too.
Overall, a really nice start to these girlsβ flowering period! Have a great weekend everyone, spread some love π»π

kizdog 2 WEEKS IN! I canβt believe this is my 3rd grow. Iβm eternally grateful that I began growing, itβs been the most amazing experience and itβs definitely something I want to do for the rest of my life. 30 mins with the girls is better than all the therapy in the world. Plants, in my opinion, are the most fulfilling things we can experience as humans. We need to rebuild our connection with the outside. The girls have had a great week, getting some good height on them. Vertical space may start to become an issue, but if that happens Iβll just remove the carbon filter from the top of the tent, enabling me to raise the light. Pistils are coming through too. So excited!!
Northern Lights ππ‘Canβt wait to lollipop this one! Sheβs gotten nice and tall, and probably still has another week of stretching left. Very high number of colas, too. The plant bends really saved me with this one, as more LST with soft ties wasnβt really an option for a couple reasons.
The girls are looking great overall, Iβm just buzzing for these buds to start appearing. Trying to keep temps down so they show their lovely colours. Especially MxOP, sheβs got the potential for some beautiful red/pink hues. Smoke and spread some love this weekend πΏππ»π

kizdog OMG Iβm running out of space! Itβs the end of week 3 and Iβve had to turn the light down to 50% because the girls are about 8 inches away. Not the best, but itβs because of the Northern Lights getting so tall, that I had to raise the MxOP to have their canopies at the same level. Using the Photone app to give me a better idea of the amount of light theyβre getting. I would move the carbon filter if I could, but there is no other configuration that would work. Iβve also had to turn my AC Infinity fans up to 9 because even with my dehumidifier, RH can reach 60%, but is ~57% most of the time. The girls themselves are looking amazing though! Defoliation has definitely done them some good, the light penetration and air circulation are visibly better. NL received a much heavier trim than MxOP.
Northern Lights ππ‘SOOOO tall! Iβm praying sheβs stopped stretching, or does very soon, as Iβm stuck for ways to try and train her more than I already have. I canβt supercrop/bend everything! Other than that, sheβs looking very slender in her stems, but the nets should keep them up.
Have a great week guys and please give me some feedback! Would love to hear what you think. Love you growmies π³ππ

kizdog Weβre a month into flower, and the buds on these girls are coming in very nicely. Some trichomes have been appearing, too. The tent is starting to smell quite strong, each girl has a distinct smell but together the aroma is lovely. Will be adding my PK booster next week, Iβm excited to see how the colas start stacking up with flowers! Light is on 50% so Iβm slightly worried about how that may affect my yield, but the height of them is TOOTOO crazy!
Northern Lights ππ‘SO damn tall! Iβm pretty impressed that sheβs managed to stretch so much in such a short time. Iβve done a lot more defoliation on her too this week
Overall been a pretty chill week! Nothing crazy to report, so Iβll just tell you all to have a great day. Take care, growmies ππ³
kizdog Having a great time watching these girls mature; getting frostier and more aromatic as the days progress. Humidity is slightly higher than Iβd like it (~55%) so Iβll be defoliating a decent amount in a few days, which should also help the air circulation between the flowers.
Northern Lights ππ‘sheβs a real spectacle. Unfortunately, Iβm probably going to be seeing some foxtailing and/or new smooth leaves growing on the tops due to her sheer height and how I physically canβt move the light any higher. Overall though, her stalks are thin but the buds are looking better than Dr. Lemonβs, so itβs a win for me!!
Soooo excited to get them through these last few weeks and chop them down, the fulfilment of knowing youβre growing your own medicine, itβs just amazing. Love you guys, catch you next time! π₯ππ³

kizdog Sorry guys Iβve been on holiday! Thatβs why Iβm posting this a few days late. Amsterdam was so amazing. The heat has been a little too high than Iβd like for the girls but theyβre seemingly handling it very well. Having 2 plants with very different characteristics is interesting but not easy.
Northern Lights ππ‘buds have been slowwwwly stacking up and maturing. Really nice lemony smell, going to be a pain to trim once sheβs done but for now Iβll just watch her mature patiently.
Go to Amsterdam!!! π³π

kizdog I was in Amsterdam this week, so not too much to report. The girls are smelling SOOOOO wonderful, I canβt even begin to explain how excited I am to taste them. Will be trying a new 0.0 ppm water source from a pump near me, for the flushing water.
Northern Lights ππ‘looking much stronger than she did a few weeks ago, the flowers are finally filling out a bit. Lovely frosty coverage, and a zesty lemony smell. Approaching the end, but not quite ready to start flushing.
Weβre close to the end now guys. Every time I do this is gets exponentially more fun! Canβt wait for the next girls, think Iβm gonna try my luck with Autos. Have a great day growmies! ππ³π

kizdog Yo guys!!!
Northern Lights ππ‘sheβs soooo big. I think my disappointing yield from MxOP will be redeemed by this monster of a plant. Honestly, even with the other girl gone she has no issue filling out the entire tent. Am going to be flushing this week!
Wow! I didn't think this strain would be super strong, but she definitely surprised me! lovely sticky buds although they're light, and a very nice strain to smoke before watching a movie. Immersive

kizdog Whoo!! Finally done. Trimming her took a good few days, and drying was soooo quick even with cool temps because the buds are so thin and lanky. Had a really crazy cool time growing NL, she was a beast! Glad to be finished βοΈππ love you all!
