Quite often when using a commercial potting mix, the trasparent balls can be the empty capsules from the slow release soluble fertilizers they added during manufacture. Otherwise you will need to photograph the balls and post pictures for identification. If they are perfectly clear and round, my bet is on the fertilizer capsules theory, but if they are cloudy or opaque and a bit random in shape, then yes, they could be insect eggs, perhaps snail/slug eggs, but pictures for ID would be needed. Generally all commercial mixes are sterilized with steam prior to sale to ensure there are no insect eggs or weed seeds. Also, insect eggs will usually be clustered in a small area, whereas fertilizer capsules will be distributed randomly throughout the soil. Spider mite eggs will be in the leaves and be microscopic dots. Hope this helps, Organoman.

Not sure if I agree with too much light causing this- my plants outdoors are currently doing this now. They did it all Spring, Summer and Fall... when ever they were happy and had the right balance of water and nutes (hungry plants with just water dont do this as much either), and if it wasnt too hot or too cold or too windy they do this. If the morning or later arvo light in Fall causes a fully mature plant to do this, then the sun is too much damm light. lols. Ive only ever seen happy plants do this, if it is too much light then its on the safe side of too much as ive never seen a plant that does this have any issues caused by it. If less light makes it stop then it could be likely that level of light isnt strong enough to make the plant overly happy enough to start regulating its own surface area to the light exposure. Its nothing to worry about and I say a sign your doing things right.
