WEEK 2 VEG - DAY 15-21 - 3/11-17/22
Over the course of this week, the gals, now done with their transplant stress, are growing well overall. Miss Purple is the clear leader, but Blue and Cookie are showing signs of a struggle. They def got overwatered a little bit (boo), but overall some good encouraging growth.
DAY 15 - 3/11/22
Cookie is great! Blue got water. Purple is huge. Minor leaf growth on Blue and cookie, but purple is a monster. SHe will be ready to top first. Chamomile is looking a little rough, might need to be repotting. The light color on Blue and Cookie is troubling me but i really don't want to co too early with the nutes yet.
DAY 16 - 3/12/22
We found the ideal configuration of the seedlings as they enter into veg (lol. hindsight is 2020 and i have moved these bitches so much lol) Chamomile was repotted. Basil seedlings are still in the semifinal and i am not ready to have one picture in my hands and 2 girls in front of me. eventually, i'll have to thin the seedlings, but it will be a minute. it's gonna be interesting to fit all these plants in this tent as they grow. maybe a shelf or a shoe rack will work.
Purple is sprouting extra leaves at all 3 nodes. the 5 point leaves are out, 7 point leaves are sprouting, and the 9 point leaves are lashes. altogether, that's 5 nodes in progress. pale green streaks on the newest growth (later, i learned that this is normal for purple and how you tell her growth is changing)
Blue looks amazing. 3 nodes in progress. instead of 3 point leaves at n2, there are 4 point leaves. is this a cbd thing? a mutation? so weird but im not mad at it. n3 has a 7 point leaf out but it's super tiny. the n4 leaves are still lashes.
cookie likes the low light and humidity at the corner in the back of the tent. she has 3 nodes going. n1 has extremely tiny branches starting to peek out. n2 leaves are small but stout like the others. n3 leaves are fully out with 4 points but extremely small!
at this point nobody needs water. 2 more days for cookie, 6 more days for chamomile, 5 days for blue and 3 days for purple. cookie has some red spots on her leaves. maybe she could use some calmaag?
DAY 17 - 3/13/22
the weather is changing a lot outside so the greenhouse weather is gonna be weird for a minute lol. purple is showing semi dry, curling leaves in n1, but her soil is wet. the humidity got a little high today, but i wiped down the leaves. n3 leaves are fully out. the next leaves are hald out and tiny. new leaves at n1 and n2 are also coming out, so pretty. getting cal mag for the next feeding. blue has the 5 point leaves fully out and the 7 point lashes look great. their leaves are super linf and skinny so new leaves look like lashes for a long time. cookie has 3 point leaves out, 5 point leaves out, and 2 points out on the next set of tiny leaves. this plant is small and the leaves are fat. i really should have re potted them more carefully.
DAY 18 - 3/14/22
it's cool in the house, so it;'s cooler in the greenhouse. the back of the greenhouse seems warmer. purple's light green spots are gone. i can see what color they used to be but theyre all the same color again. maybe this was just plant stretch marks. lol. blue's new growth is also light green, maybe even yellow in the middle skinny leaves, not growing as bushy or as fast as purple. cookie is teeny compared to the other two but she seems super happy where she is. the lashes on the side look like preflowers but like pre pre preflowers. basil goit water as the camomile is chill
DAY 19 - 3/15/22
stuck a fan in there! it lowers the temp a little but the lights have to stay on 50% so there's only so much warmth i can generate. wishing for this temperature when the summer comes honestly. blue looks good, being her skinny tall self. her biggest leaves are about 3 inches long. seeing the tiny beginnings of axillary branches at every node. not a to of noticeable growth. purple looks amazing. she's almost reaching ot the lip of the pot. she has leaves coming out of the stem at all her nodes, and her biggest leaves are the size of her palm, her 7-point leaves are out but still small. she will be ready for mainlining in about a week or so. her stem is thick and strong.
DAY 20 - 3/16/22
dryer in the tent today. hovered around 50-60% rh to get the soil to dry ou. it's nice and pleasant in the tent/
blue
- 8cm soil to n4 growth tips
7 point leaves are out, about halfway there. skinny and tall is her whole vibe. pretty light green color, axillary branches and pre preflower are tiny lashes at N1 & n2. stem is still twiggy and flexible
cookie
- 7cm soil to n4 growth tips
7-point leaves are fully out and teeny! the leaves are fat and wide. she received around 2.5L of water &calmag PH'd with vinegar. this was way too much water for such a tiny baby plant. n5 leaves are starting to come out, and there are tiny axillary branches peeking out at every node. leaves are drooping, most likely from overwatering(but my dumb ass thinks it's underwatering
purple
- 10.5cm soil to N% growth tips
7 point leaves are fully out but not completely unfolded. the leaves at n5 are also out, 2 sets of 7-pointers. n6 leaves are starting to peek out. n1 branches are established and out, there's a pair of leaves coming out ot em. n2 has 5 point leaves coming out with another pair coming out the middle. compared to the other two, she's exploding with growth. the stem is thick and woody
basil and chamomile were watered from below. basil is super thirsty but chugging along.
DAY 21 - 3/17/22
Basil looks great! Node 1 is completed and there's another node in progress. i culled the two shortest ones and moved them to the bottom of the tent. they should be ready to repot this weekend! Chamomile looks amazing- lots of big amazing growth. the growth is touching the edges of the seedling pots!
BLUE has her 5 point leaves out, two nodes of them. 7 point leaves are out but not fully open. they were all watered with the standing calmag, about a liter. there's not much change from yesterday. PURPLE is fucking enormous. seven point leaves are out in 3 nodes, for about 7 total nodes. in a few days she will be ready for her first topping. the way she's growing, she seems like the best candidate for mainlining. the leaves reach past the lip of the pot. the axillary branches at n1 & n2 have 2 nodes. the n3 branches are growing well, starting on their second nodes. COOKIE seems to have gotten over her droopiness. Seeing some red streaks in the stems- is this normal, i wonder?
