Day 16 from original cut. Rooted in pucks in heated propagator with dome, with clonex and powder. Used a Jorge Cervantes guide. Will figure out some way to block light, but mostly I plan on relying on Hydroguard when it gets here.
Put in light schedule babyy mix at first, 5.6 ml -- had to dilute after it burned. diluted it with rhizo water.
pH should all be between 5.8 and 6.2 , have started putting water out at night for the next day so it quits rising ph. PPM varies, because i goofed on the initial strength. 560-650.
Foliar is full strength foliar like for my strong plants. canna, rhizo like hell, silica like hell. 6.2-6.4
Hydroguard gets here tomorrow, I will put it in with each jar and then my plan is that as the jars empty to refill it with maxibloom at lucas formula instead of canna. this way they at least get a bunch of rhizo and silica for their roots to begin with until they take it all from the res.

This is a temporary clone vegging solution. I should use 1-2 gallon buckets, at which point there's no reason not to buy an air pump and put air lines into them... or make 10 gal DWC resses.
I'd still like to know if I can make this work. Have a friend who I watched him veg up a plant, train it, filled a mason jar with roots -- he put it into a 5 gallon bucket and flipped it, got 3 oz.
First hydro. Is there anything I'm forgetting about ppm, maintaining pH from the resevoir, keeping rot from growing (non-issue with hydroguard right?) , etc? I plan on something for light, and change the jar and nutes if needed. Will let the roots breathe at the top.Canna->Lucas.
It will be hard as u will find out to main a ph of 5.6 to 5.8 your ph will start there in the begining but as every hour passes it will rise the more bubbles your ring are stone puts out the faster your ph will rise within 24-48 hours you will have to adjust it ppms should stay low with only non burning nutes right now only a root booster and calmag with ph water for the first bucket then up it the main thing is WATER TEMP no matter how good shes going if your water is to warm shes done hope this helps 👍👍✌️✌️🍻🍻
Day 24 from initial cut. Lot of stuff going on this week, pictures came out bad will try to do better.
Didn't ever get around to making them light blockers, the hydroguard bacillus is p much winning against the pythium even in clear containers. Haven't even changed them out for pH creeping up, theyre singed from that.
Bought cardstock and black duct tape planning on making a bunch of maxibloom (not canna) with rhizo to correct ph with botanicare hydroguard. Will transplant them into maxibloom lucas.
Oh and I fimmed (or accidentally topped) p much all of them b/c im hoping to get good clone sog yield that way and still maximize veg time
Day 31 from initial cutting
Blacked out the resses, have changed most over to blacked out jars. Had a lot of pythium, some algae. To be expected given my delay in light-proofing.
Topping/fimming them to get structure going, hopefully they have enough roots -- seems like, they were in a serious veg burst when I did the cuts.
Have switched to just "KISS" "lucas" maxibloom @ 6-7g, using overnight dechlorinated water and then canna rhizo for pH up. Ironically it comes out to full strength dosage for it. I'm cool with that.
Curious how long before I'm root pruning the most well-rooted six to twelve plants, assuming they live. They seem to be doing fine. Many have discolored roots, but I'm not sure if it's a (managed) pythium infection or what. Won't have anywhere to put them for a while.
Got half gallon jars to prep for what I'm planning -- three each of candida and medical mass in top-fed DWC resses. Picked the biggest / most promising roots for each strain, transplanted them. They're in dechlorinated 5.5 solution; Canna Coco, 5.6ml with 5ml ArmorSi and 7.5ml Rhizotonic. Will refill with maxibloom most likely.
Topping has worked out well, their structures are much more open and I hope they root well into it. I will want yield out of these if I can get it, as oppsed to popping more seeds or taking more clones to replace them if they die.
@bobo420, yeah it's still going but I caught a little rot already -- predictable except i'd expected to have made light blocking sleeves already... lotta serious IRL stuff. Switched out the jars and added the hydroguard.
I shouldnt have started them until the jars were ready and hydroguard were here, but got excited when the clones rooted. Considering the first crop of clones all died from cold.
They're all still doing well so far.
I have a similar situation with my duplex. I'm hoping the lights and fans create enough heat to keep my bedroom inhabitable this winter. I cant run a heater and my 2 tents on the same breaker and probably couldn't afford it anyway. I way over spent my budget for this. I had planned on $500 or under for my set up and 300w or under total power drawn. I'm probably close to double on the power which isn't that bad. Equipment on the other hand.....I've spent about $1100 just on lights.
Im lucky in that other than stretches of insomnia and probably an above average anxiety level I have no medicinal needs for it. I just enjoy growing and have always believed in the good of the plant and the people who also believe in it. Back in high school I used to say my religion was worshipping the weed God. If I was ever facing a tough choice or did something wrong and hadn't realized it yet when I got blazed it would all sink in and process and I'd always be able to see my mistakes or find clarity on what the right thing to do was. I've never wronged anybody that I'm aware while feeling any effects from herb. On the other hand I've been a complete asshole sober as well as in just about every other state of consciousness I've experienced. numerous times. And I've been smoking bud for almost 24yrs now....i'm a super light weight nowadays tho and sometimes go a week or 2 without even a puff. I'd hook u up with some of my harvest if there's a way to make it happen. It's the least I could do for all the help and at my current pace of consumption what I got from my 1st grow would last me 3-6yrs . If you're anywhere near I-5 from like Sacramento to Portland message me and we'll figure some shit out bro.
@Jaindoh, I think in all set up now. I just kept buying slightly more expensive stuff trying to be cheap and cost myself way more than it wouldve to just get good stuff to start. That's how I do everything else. I'm either going all out or I'm not even going....idk why I thought I could half ass it but I wish I wouldn't have. On the bright side tho I have a random assortment of lights in my closet that would be plenty for my other 4×4 for veg or mothers. Also I got back ups if 1 of my lights in my starting lineup goes down. It was a good learning experience. I guess.
@Beans, oh i feel you on that, though ouch on light bill -- at this point i would just use multiples of these ~$90 roleadro 400s (200w cob), like five to a 4x4 or w/e
The breaker issues are hell. They make appliance extension cords the same AWG as the romex in the wall (14AWG iirc) that will handle like 1800w, no problem. Really helps to get something onto another breaker. Also you can get power strips with these type of capabilities and like 25-35 foot cords, which is nice.
As an aside I have really become very spoiled to my micathermic heater, i use the delonghi ones, theyre competitively priced and their low heat 900w mode -- if you can get that much free -- is super potent. They put out like a gas radiator but smaller, and i've used them for my tents since I got them. They're also super super safe in terms of burn hazard.
u got it up and running, that's awesome! u put in some major work in the grow room and I respect the hell out of it. makes me wanna step my game up. I hate getting out worked....lol
@Beans, My whole technique and rotation is built around circumstantial limitations. There's a problem with the house that precludes central A/C; relevance being that I can't just buy double the lights and let the central handle the heat. With the window units on the circuits, I can really only run so many lights. Or cool those lights.
With the first two tents running, we kept running out of meds. Set up a veg tent. Not usually able to buy CBD to make topicals, having the tent room to have THC and CBD is paramount. So I set up a fourth tent for mothers and vegging, and set up a propagation station below it.
Even the extreme amounts of training and defoliation (which I am walking back) are all just me trying to pull grams to be comfortable. Maybe put some back, hopefully, with the new setup.
This is me working on my cloning and clone training / mass vegging techniques. Once I have fully rooted clones going into DWC resses, I'm hoping to do a lot less work and spend a lot less money =)
Hi there, lucas formula seems to work great ! I started my coco grow with Lucas Maxibloom nuts schedule but the coco version of it require some adjustments so I gave up. I'm gonne follow your grow to see what Lucas can do for you 👌
