Germination
4/2/22 - Started the Germination process via paper tower. Both seeds are currently sitting in plastic containers under a bathroom sink for the moment. In a few days once the seeds have a good taproot, I will place them into the red solo cup taco method that I used previously. Two solo cups, trimmed about an inch or two down from the top. The two cups will sit inside each other. The outside cup remains intact except for the trimmed top. The inner cup has four holes cut around the bottom for drainage. It is also cut down the side to form a "taco". The intent here is that when it comes time to transplant, all that needs done is to open the taco, remove the soil, baby plant, roots, everything and plop them into their final resting place. Their final pot will be a 3 Gallon fabric pot with a mix of 50% FF Ocean Forest, 25% FF Happy Frog and 25% perlite. The solo cup starter contains 100% FF Happy Frog. The original skunk #1 seed I got a freebie from when I purchased seeds previously. The Durban Sunrise I grew previously but feel like I left it way too long. I want to try it again and harvest it about two weeks sooner. 4/6 - Transferred to red solo cups. Each had about a 1 inch taproot. Watered with about an ounce or two of plain water.

4/7 - Day 0 - Not much to report. Durban has a tiny sprout that i can see starting to poke through the top soil. Skunk, nothing visible yet. 4/10 - Day 1 - They have both broken soil at this point and are tiny seedlings. Starting day 1 here. 4/11 - Day 2 - Watered about 2-3 ounces each cup until I had a little runoff in the bottom of the second cup. 4/14 - Day 5 - Watered about 2-3 ounces each per cup until a little run off. Both looking good so far. I will be prepping the 3G pots todays with the 50% FF OF, 25% FF HF and 25% Perlite mix. I am expecting these girls to transplant in the next 5 days or so.

4/17 - Day 8 - Both have one small tiny root poking out of one of the small holes in the inner solo cup. Watered both with 1-2 ounces of pure water. This will be the last watering in the solo cup before transplant. 4/20 - Day 11 - Transplanted both from the red solo cups to the 3G pots. The Durban transplant got a little hairy because I did not dig the hole deep enough to easily drop her in. Had to do some futzing to get her deep enough after dropping her in. I don't think I messed with her roots that much. She just fell over once or twice or thrice. 😬 Skunk transplant went smoothly. Need to remember to dig the hole deeper in the final pots before transplanting. If I think it's deep enough, go deeper. (This is a reminder to me for next time) Watered 64 ounces through both of the big pots to get a good soaking. Leaving the blurple light on for veg. Usually this takes a few extra days to fully dry out. Like 6-7 days total. Then can go to watering 32 ounces every 3-4 days, if the past cycles still hold true. I will also be adding calmag into my water for future watering as I found that i was running into calcium deficiencies in previous grows using the same set up. Usually they would show up around week 3 or 4. Hoping by adding Calmag, that will reduce that chance going forward. 4/21 - Day 12 - Transplant appears to have been successful. I see that both plants have grown a bit since yesterday, which is a good sign. Will see how things look here in a few days to make sure that they are both still moving along. Expecting to water again probably on the 26th or 27th.

4/26 - Day 17 - Watered them both with 32 ounces of water with calmag. Durban Sunrise is stunted. I had a feeling that would happen because of my dorked up transplanting of her. Oh well. I will ride her out and see what happens. Skunk is taking off though! 4/29 - Day 20 - Watered both with 32 ounces of water with calmag. Not much else to report. Things are moving along. Next week, I will be starting nutes.

5/3 - Day 24 - Watered each with 32 ounces of 50% nute mix and calmag. 5/7 - Day 28 - Watered each with 32 ounces of water with calmag. They both look quite peachy and happy so far. Durban is definitely smaller and stunted but should definitely ripen and produce by the looks of things, Will probably start some LST on Skunk next time.

5/11 - Day 32 - Watered with 32 ounce of water and nutes with calmag. Nothing really to report. Started LST earlier this week as well. 5/14 - Day 35 - Watered with 32 ounces of water with calmag only. They are looking fine at this point. Durban has a few early rust spots but nothing major. The calmag has been helping, I think.

5/23 - Day 44 - Watered both with 64 ounces of water with nutes. Adjusted the LST a bit on the Skunk as she is getting big. Durban is showing the beginning signs of flowering. Also adjusted my nutes a bit as they seemed to be wanting more nitrogen. Added in FF Tiger bloom nutes as well. ** Note to self for next time ** Add more calmag. Do 6 ml per gal instead and start sooner than this grow. A few of the big fan leaves on Skunk have rust spots but they are not expanding as much as previous. or maybe start calmag at 5 ml, then after week 4, go to 6 or 7 ml. 5/26 - Day 47 - Watered both with 64 ounces of water with calmag only. Adjusted the LST a bit as well. Poor picture quality today because I was in a rush.

5/29 - Day 50 - Watered both with 64 ounces of water with nutes. Durban is in early flower. Skunk looks to be in pre-flower or later veg. 6/1 - Day 53 - Watered Durban Sunrise with 64 ounces of water with calmag. Watered Skunk with 96 ounces of water with calmag. Skunk is definitely a thirsty girl at this point and hoping the 96 ounces will last me the full three days now. I was also nervous that Skunk might be a male but I have started seeing the hairs finally! 6/4 - 56 - Watered Durban Sunrise with 64 ounces of water with calmag. Watered Skunk with 96 ounces of water with calmag. I ran out of nutes and didn't have time to make more, so I just used plain water. Next watering will be with nutes of the same volume.

6/7 - Day 59 - Watered Durban with 64 ounces of nutes. Watered Skunk with 64 ounces of nutes and 16 ounces of water w/calmag. Going 96 ounces on Skunk was causing a TON of runoff and seemed a bit much. So I scaled that back just a touch. I also had to split there as well for water storage reasons. I will likely be getting some additional gallon jugs to fix this for next time. 6/10 - Day 62 - Watered Durban with 64 ounces of water with calmag. Watered Skunk with 80 ounces of water with calmag.

6/13 - Day 65 - Watered Durban with 64 ounces of nutes. Her buds are filling out nicely and she is starting to glisten. She also smells soooo earthy. I love it. Watered Skunk with 64 ounces of nutes and 16 ounces of water with calmag. Skunk still has not started filling out buds yet. I think she is still in her pre-flower stretch because she is huge. The largest plant I have grown to date. I am looking into moving to a larger tent in the next week or so because I think her top canopy is starting to get a little light burned. I see the little hairs, so I know she is female. I dunno. I am going to let her go another two weeks and if she still isn't budding, I will flip the lighting to 12/12 and see if that spurs her on. I'm wondering if maybe the genetics on this seed are a little wonky. 6/17 - Day 69 - I waited four days because the humidify this week was really high and they were not as thirsty on day three. Watered Durban with 64 ounces of water with calmag. Watered Skunk with 80 ounces of water with calmag.

If she has not started going full bloom, then I am going to switch the lighting to 12/12 and see if the triggers her to get going. By that time, likely my Durban will be close to harvest as well. Her trichomes are a mix of clear, cloudy.

6/26 - Day 78 - Watered Durban with 64 ounces of water. Watered Skunk with 80 ounces of water. Skunk is still not showing signs of flowering at this point. I am currently working on setting up a good 12/12 schedule and will be flipping my lighting over, likely later this week, to try and get that started. At least, that's my hope. ** Update ** Changed lighting to 12/12 (7pm-7am) for both plants. I don't expect anything but maybe some slower bud filling on Durban. I am hoping Skunk will start flowering. 6/29 - Day 81 - Watered Skunk with 80 ounces of nutes. Durban was still pretty damp, so am not watering her for. Will check her in another day or so to see how she looks. 7/2 - Day 84 - Watered Skunk with 80 ounces of water and Durban with 64 ounces of water.

7/5 - Day 87 - Watered Skunk with 80 ounces of nutes and Durban with 64 ounces of nutes. At this point, Durban is getting close to harvest. Her trichomes are still partially clear but getting cloudy. Skunk isn't flowering yet after going 12/12. But she is huge and I am working on keeping her going as best as I can. She is definitely also rootbound but I do not have space yet for a 5 gallon bucket as I want her to start flowering. 7/8 - Day 90 - Watered Skunk with 80 ounces of nutes. I did not water Durban as she was still fairly water heavy. She is drinking much less as expected. The picture today is not the best because Skunk is getting huge. Likely, any further picture will be in the blurple light for the time being to avoid dragging her out of the tent to take a picture. The good news on Skunk is that she is into pre-flower and stretching. My biggest plant to date. She is massive.

7/24 - I harvested Durban Sunrise today and will probably have about an ounce to an ounce a half. She is currently is drying right now. She smells amazing! Skunk is still working and have left her in the tent. I raised the light a bit and have upped her nute mixture by about 25%. She is having nute problems because she is root bound and I may start watering her on the morning of day three instead of day two. I am hoping the additional nutes will help and may increase the nutes as I see how she takes this increase. If she continues to yellow, I'll up them to a full dose per gallon instead of 75%. She is very tall with the tallest kola at about 48 inches. 7/26 - Watered Skunk with 80 ounces of nutes. 7/28 - Watered with 80 ounces of nutes. 7/30 - Watered with 80 ounces of water with calmag. Watering the start of day 3 since she is root bound. It seems to be helping with the yellowing.

August 1 - Watered skunk with 80 ounces of nutes. Tried to get some good pictures of her flowers but it is hard with the blurple light. I increased her watering schedule from the start of day four to the start of day 3. I was nuting her twice then plain water once for a few rotations just to try and catch her up. At this point though, I am going to go back to alternating nutes and water each time. August 3rd - Watered with 80 ounces of water with calmag. Flowering in full effect. August 5 - Watered with 80 ounces of nutes. Put up a trellis to add some support. Will need to tighten it up a bit to be better, I think.

Harvested on 9/10. Currently still drying. So far, it was a heart plant and bounced back well when I had issues. I went long on the vegetation time which resulted in nute issues later but were easily adjusted to.

Good luck with your grow mate!💪💪

Hey there friend. Looking pretty good Very nice for your third grow!, Would you be alright with me offering some pointers? So cannabis plants LOVE heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it. In veg we want to take advantage of this fact to help our plants grow along much quicker and more vigorously. In veg we can look for temps of 79-84 MAX with lights on & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. If we allow for too much temperature swing between lights on and lights off while the plant is still growing vertically up to day 20 of flower, We will cause the plant to stretch ALOT which we do not want. So in veg & early flower, Keeping our temperature gaps nice and close between lights on and off is key. Utilizing humidity in our rooms during veg will also help out a lot with more rapid growth but we must introduce it properly. In our rooms we have our temperature and humidity set-points, But when we combine those 2 it forms a third set-point which is the most important & that is called VPD, Vapor pressure deficit. I strongly recommend every new grower or old grower who has not learned it yet, To study and understand it & implement it into your room, Logging your numbers daily. https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ For soil, We generally want to go for a PH of 6.1. This website does a GREAT job of illustrating it with a nice graph & very good detailed explanation for soil. https://autoflowerseedshop.com/cannabis-ph-chart-guide/ As we briefly touched on before, During veg & early flower we want our temperature gap's nice and tight to avoid stretch. Why exactly our plants stretch in response to this is a genetic trigger being activated by the environmental stress essentially telling the plant the end of the season is closer than it really is. In veg & early flower the plant is still in its first stage of development which is to grow up wide and tall so when it produces seed, It can cast them out nicely. Remember, Whether we are growing our plants for seed or bud their genetic responses do not change as they gh sidedo not know any different. Once the plant has finished that first stage of growth by weeks 4-6 of flower with most strains, It is by day 20 of flower. Autoflowers you have to watch for it, But once the plant has finished this goal its new mission is to focus 100% on producing nice big flower clusters & to get very sticky so it can attract pollen to it successfully. So once that vertical growth is finished, We actually now want to begin to expose our plants to larger temperature swings between lights on and lights off. This will help activate that genetic response and allow us to draw out the most potential from the strain utilizing the plants genetic triggers to environmental stresses at the right times. We can also take this a step further with doing light deprivation in the last 2 weeks using less light to simulate cloud cover. Very cold feed temps on the last flush is very good too. If you do not have them already, Get yourself a good PAR meter & thermal laser temp gun to monitor your plant top temperatures & optimize how much light your plants are getting. We are currently in the middle of producing a very comprehensive tutorial series for everybody to learn from & understand how to grow the highest level craft cannabis all on their own.
