Well, this is my third attempt at a scrog and I’m hoping I’ve worked out all my issues. I’m taking my lessons learned and am shooting for a massive crop this run. My goal is 2 lbs via 4 separate strains.
Week 1 is in the books, and my light is now turned up to almost 50% power. I expect to push it up to 75% by the end of week two.
I’ll also drop my ph to 6.2 for week 2.
Week 2 of veg complete and all four girls are healthy. I actually topped all four a few days ago and everyone is starting to bush up nicely.
I’ll drop the net on in the next couple days, and hopefully be able to start pulling through for my scrog … and I’ll stay in veg until the net is at least 70% full.
Dropped ph a point, and will do that next week as well. Light is almost 75%, and I’ll stay here until I flip to 12/12.
Week 3 in the books, and everyone is good and healthy.
I’ve put up my net, dropped the ph another point and have increased ppm to my max for this run. I’ve also got my silicone, Epsom salts, and stuff all in the mix now as well.
Hoping for a good week, and that all four girls are climbing through the net in my next week set of pics.
Week 4 complete and probably another week of veg before I flip …. Waiting until the net is about 70% full I think.
No ph or ppm adjustments this week, continuing with same mix as last week.
Cindy is dragging ass compared to the others, and hoping she has a good week.
Week 5 complete, and just about ready to flip. Cindy is looking like she might be a runt, but I’ll try and fill in her space with the other plants.
Everyone looks healthy, and fingers crossed I get a half decent stretch to fill the net.
Guessing I’ll start to flower in the next day or two
3 or 4 days into flower and have flushed the system and now have the girls on the bloom food cycle. I’ve also bumped up the silicon and Epsom salts while I pull through the net. I find that this helps with bending and not breaking … or if you do break, repair is much easier.
On that note, I did snap the Ssog in half … almost 🤢 puked … I duct taped it back together, and Shazam, within a day it’s was back to normal. I’ll take a pic next week before I take the tape off, and then one after. It usually creates a big knuckle. Ive broken many a plant growing trees, but this is my first in a scrog.
If I was to guess, I’m thinking the Cinderella and sugar breath are not going to be huge … however I think the Ssog should make up for them and could be a dandy. Fingers crossed I get some good stretch in the gelato, at least around the centre of the tent. If not 2lbs will be a tough ask … give it a week and I’ll have a better feel.
Second week of flower complete and everyone is healthy, even the split ssog. I took a photo of the duct tape band aid brace, and will take a pic of the same area when I remove the tape … probably next week.
The ssog has had a great stretch, and the gelato was pretty good to. The sugar breath was a little below average and Cindy was almost non existent. Cindy is definitely a runt, even her branches are small and weak looking.
I’m done pulling through the net, and now hoping a good week 3 gives me some height on all four.
2lb goal not out the window just yet, but gonna need great weeks 3 and 4 to have a chance.
Three weeks of flower down and stretch is starting to slow down. Everyone looks good, but Cindy is definitely a runt. Even her stock and branches are tiny. Hopefully she gets fat at least.
Ssog looks like it’ll be a biggie, and both gelato and sugar breath should be nice, but not monsters. See how this week goes, and then should have a better feel for the 2 lb goal.
Ramped up the ppm this week and slightly less N. everything else is pretty much all the same.
Week four of flower complete and looks like we’re almost done with the stretch. Everyone is healthy, but Cindy is definitely a runt.
Going to trim some fan leaves, raise the light a little, and flush the system. Ph will drop another point this week, and I’ll keep the high ppms for another week or two.
2 lbs will be close, but Cindy may throw a wrench …
Five weeks of flower in the books.
I ran pretty high ppms this week and the girls handled it great. I did a quick flush, and am going with the same mix this week, then drop it down. I’ll keep the ph at 5.9 to start, but will have it to 5.8 mid week.
Raised the light a bit and trimmed out a few more fan leaves.
Seven weeks of flower complete, and buds are starting to fill out.
Dropped ph to 5.8 and dropped the ppm about 20%. Will drop ppm and water temperature next week to.
8 weeks of flower complete and starting to see the buds fatten up some. Trichomes still fairly clear, so I’d guess it’ll be a couple more weeks at least before harvest.
Going with the same food mix as last week, but will stop using silicone from this point forward … that will drop my ppms some, bUt not to much. Ph is still at 5.8, and water temps are lowered a few degrees for this week. Also dropped room temp a degree at night.
Cinderella is gonna be a tiny bitch, so that could throw a wrench in the 2 lb challenge, fingers crossed everyone continues to stay healthy and fatten up nicely.
Week 9 of flower and starting to see some buds fatten up nicely.
Trichomes are fogging up and starting to turn, but I’m guessing it’ll be more than a more week before harvest … somewhere around 73 days I’m guessing. I find this is normal, almost everything I’ve ever grown takes about 10 days more to finish than what the breeders say.
Dropping ppms in half, and dropping water temps a fair bit as well. Should help frost them up I hope.
I’m doubting that I hit my 2 lb mark, Cindy is just to small I think.
I’m in dwc, and at 5.8 I’d be limiting nitrogen uptake. I’d try lowering if you can point me to anything supporting your comment …. I’d try anything that will help.
I do run a lower ph in clone, and in my transfer over to my dwc system for a few days. But once roots pop out of pot and lights are over 25% I go over 6. Then drop about a point a week.
I won’t hit 5.8 until week 3 or 4 of flower.
@love_2_grow,
It took a couple runs to figure out how to fill the net and also keep an even height canopy to suit my layout … and I’m growing 4 separate strains to boot, so that doesn’t help. So I think I’ve got my plan on how I’m going to prune and pull through the net …
I’ve also got a better handle on ppm at the mid bud weeks to suit the larger plant, and am much better with what I think are proper NPK levels. I’ve also become a ph ocd person, and understand how or effects nutrient absorption.
It’s all just talk for now … but am hoping this is my best run yet.
