June 4th 2022 - Day 22
So we have started week 4, The Cheese XXL is still the only one that has shown any hairs & staggered node development. I am fairly confident we have fixed the intake issue from the WALLAMMO causing the PH drop, With compensated feed PH. They have taken their last 1L root inoculant focused feed and almost dried the bags out already so I think we are out of the woods with that problem hopefully it has not caused too much a lasting impact on the plants ability to produce. Their next feed will be a jump up in PPM & going to go to 1.5L per plant, Stay tuned everybody I am editing episode 5 together for end of day which covers Defoliation, Plant Diagnostics & troubleshooting & lighting as well as week 3 of plant life care.
June 5th 2022 - Day 23
Today I change the light cycle down to 18/6 from 20/4. I realize autoflowers do not need a change in light cycle, But I feel with this rare instance of so much PAR in this tent we are seeing light saturation in effect. I believe with such a high DLI we need more rest for these plants to properly utilize that energy they are storing up during lights on. I feel when you have so much PAR in the tent or room, The balance must be found when dealing with autos & the rare extremely high DLI's they present us with in the right circumstances. Lets see if they begin to grow more vigorously.
June 6th 2022 - Day 24
Today is a feed day! Jump up in PPM to around 900 & we will also be introducing Terpinator into the feed. I am going to give them a quarter gallon each and hopefully now their water intake will increase. Rest of photos coming 3hrs after feed!
FEED RECIPE :
PER 5 GALLONS
GROW - 15ML
MICRO - 15ML
BLOOM - 25ML
TERPINATOR - 25ML
ROOT BUILDER - 20ML
MEDIONE - 10ML
B-Vital 1.25TSP
PPM - 890
PH - 7 ( COMPENSATED FOR WALLAMMO FOR 6.1 IN THE SOIL )
TEMP - 68F
0.25 GALLON PER PLANT
June 7th 2022 - Day 25
Plants are looking great, The sick Northern Lights has bounced back amazingly I think we chose the right option of how to handle it and fix it so that is a bonus when you can recover a plant that well. I also think the 18/6 cycle has greatly benefitted the plants I believe with 20/4 when using such high levels of light intensity was causing light saturation and not allowing the plants enough down-time to really utilize all the energy they where storing from photosynthesis. I would say around a quarter of the plants are showing signs of flowering. The Cheese XXL are well into their first week of flower leading the pack. Next week we switch to flower VPD. Today I lowered the lights down about a foot, Giving the plants PAR between 800-920.
June 8th 2022 - Day 26
The swap to 18/6 has for sure encouraged more growth. They seem to be eating up all the PAR I have thrown at them & once they finish their vertical growth we will be lowering the lights down more. Tomorrow now that all the plants have entered flower, The VPD will be swapped to a transitional VPD of 80F @ 60% RH
June 9th - Day 27
Today was a feed day already which is a great sign. They consumed that 5 gallons within 3 days time, So today was another feed pretty much the same but with slight tweaks. The plants are deffinately in their early flower stretch right now & filling out nicely. The formation on these plants is so uniform it is beautiful how they responded to the early F.I.M
FEED RECIPE :
PER 5 GALLONS
GROW - 25ML
MICRO - 25ML
BLOOM - 35ML
TERPINATOR - 35ML
ROOT BUILDER - 20ML
MEDIONE - 10ML
B-Vital 1.25TSP
PPM - 1070 (It came out somewhat hot around 1300-1400, So I dumped a quarter of it out & cut it down with more water to achieve desired PPM )
PH - 7 ( COMPENSATED FOR WALLAMMO FOR 6.1 IN THE SOIL )
TEMP - 68F
0.25 GALLON PER PLANT
June 10th 2022 - Day 28
Last day of week 4 plants are doing absolutely great. I am confident that through the early flower stretch they will most likely double in height by week 3 of flower. The Northern Lights that we had to transplant to save is thriving as well. I would also say that the Northern Lights is the most consistently vigorous strain out of them all. Stay tuned for tomorrow the official first photo's of week 5 & week 1 of flower!
EPISODE 6 - Water Needs For Flower, Transition From Veg To Early Flower & Week 4 Plant Life Care - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9toBlvBNgE
HEY everybody, Please hop over and check out my good friend Kashmir on grow diaries ! He has recently joined the seedsman affiliate team and is a new grower who has worked closely with me to learn and improve. It gives new growers a very cool unique look at seeing someone who is new at this, Learning along our tutorial series and applying the information he is learning and the results he is obtaining, Make sure to head over and follow his profile to join in along the journey with us! I STRONGLY recommend looking at his Jack Herer diary & Gelato to see what is possible with some effort and patience. Some of the most beautiful buds I have seen! This is possible for each and everyone to achieve through putting your focus into learning the methodology properly and having patience. We want you all to see that with the ability to study the correct information and what is fundamental to growing cannabis, Not just videos to copy and follow along with that anybody can learn to grow the highest level craft cannabis all on their own. Legacy Market Farm's goal is to help open up the abilities of the average home grower to have a more complete basic understanding of how to do these things, Which once you cut through all the dissinfo / missinfo & myth / Rumor it really is not all that difficult like a lot of people would want you to believe.
growdiaries.com/grower/kashmir
@guerilla, He is getting some Strawberry cheesecake auto's going as we speak to add in his next tent grow, Making me jealous I gotta wait to finish this one before I pop mine ! haha, I know I will for sure be checking his next diaries out I recommend everybody else does too!
So today we did some diagnostic troubleshooting on the less than optimal looking Northern Lights, Lets touch on that before the episode comes out with all the recorded footage.
Symptoms : We where seeing the plant's leaf showing signs of die off & what looked like lock-out happening, This was further confirmed by the bag still retaining all the moisture nearly from its last feed while all other plants are ready by tomorrow or next day for their next watering.
Conclusion : Something was causing this plant to shut down intake, This lead to me diagnosing it the following ways. I tested the PAR hitting the tops of the plant to see if it was getting too much light, Even though it was not tacoing I wanted to rule this out, It was receiving average levels of PAR, Ticked that one off the box. Tested the plant top temps with my fluke 64 MAX, They checked out as well & ticked that one off. Then it was root-zone diagnostic time so we did a flush with PH 6.1 water & collected run off. PPM was 550 which was great, BUT the PH Was 4.5, BOOM. There was the problem. Now what could have caused this ?
If we are talking about condensation and that dripping into the bag, It should have by all accounts caused a PH spike. But it did not, It was incredibly low PH instead, Very acidic. It took me awhile to figure out what could have caused this but my resting hypothesis is that it is from the WALLAMMO, The soil that went into that 3 gallon must have been hot with Wallammo, As it says on the package it balances the PH of the soil. It is my only conclusion I can come to on what would have caused this.
Solution : I had a couple options to me but taking into account the type of plants we are growing ( Autoflowers ) & where we are at in stage of growth, Nearing end of week 3. We have to take those factors into consideration. The obvious answer was flush it like crazy. The only problem with that is I feel it would really stunt and effect the plant being it is approaching flower, This would likely take a good week or 2 to dry out fully and then begin recovery which if it was indeed the Wallammo in that specific bag, It might not be enough to solve the problem. The next solution was to flush it & transplant it into a fresh bag, With fresh soil. Given the circumstances and potential cause of the problem this seemed the only solution. The plant was moved into a fresh bag with fresh soil & given a small dose of rapid start & B-Vital to hopefully, Guide it through to recovery. All of this was documented and will be included in the next episode. @love_2_grow Thank you so much for inspiring the idea to include this as part of the series. I really felt it was a great opportunity to show how to diagnose your plants & come to a solution, Make the choice & do it. Whether it works or not, We will see but in the end we are chalking up experience every time we must deal with adversity in our rooms, DO NOT shy away from the experience. Embrace it & learn from it.
@Eauderay, Thank you for that friend! That is awesome to hear as well. You can also see every week's video tutorial component on our youtube channel! You got time to subscribe and catch up the next episode releasing is the pull down & slow cold dry tutorial !
@LegacyMarketFarm, hey there! Great Indoot garden you have! i have found out that for me when i used to ph water for my soil grow I always had many problems and generally it was 2 weeks in flowering, leaves curling and dying...So i have decided not to ph anymore and to reduce intensity of light during those 2 first weeks flowering and i have better results but sometimes plants do not like soil at all and need to be changed but i never do and take the loss...
i think you did great to change soil! if you flush it can be bad. I never succeeded to really save my plants doing that! organically flushing is bad I suppose because you drown all friendly bacterias and micros and also minerals and humus and god knows what else we cannot see with microscopes?
Anyway so interesting your diary! I will follow your discoveries! 😉🤞
@Hydro_Hiebs, Thanks man for the kind words ! That was my thinking exactly. I am really trying to show people that once you approach this from a plant biology / horticultural angle of understanding what is going on in this plant, Learning to grow the highest quality cannabis is not as hard as most people would want you to think it is. Once you get the fundamentals down most of it is going to become reactive / proactive decision making. I think glossing over things like this does not help people learn those things at all which is just as important. I actually walked everybody through the entire process in episode 5 if you wanted to check it out! Today I am editing together episode 7 so stay tuned :)
EPISODE 5 - www.youtube.com/watch
** UPDATE **
May 12th 2022 - Today is day 2 in soil for the seeds after a 24hr soak. I am currently in the process of installing all of our editing software & music production software back onto a brand new 1TB SSD drive we got to replace our old HDD that was failing and becoming unstable. Through the rest of this week I will be editing the next episodes together. The grow diary will continue to be updated while I produce the tent construction & germination preparation & the germination episodes for release. Thanks so much for everybody's continued support!
@Roberts, I made 1 comment calling out your unsupported 9.6 ounce monster, Then deleted it because yeah. I don't like lowering myself to where people like you operate mentally. I even have the screenshot if you want to try to start up drama to try and justify yourself saying I posted more than 1 comment on your youtube, I was subbed to your channel but honestly I didn't even realize it existed I never watched 1 of your videos until you came on here starting up goomba drama.
@Roberts, Not to mention your commenting on a video from week 8, That is a week behind. Currently we are half way through week 9 & then week 10 is their flush week, So yeah. They got about a week and a half left at most. Thanks for that though truly insightful. Take a step back and look at what your doing seriously, If its something you wouldn't be proud of 5 years from now, Then you probably should think a little more before saying it or typing it.
@Roberts, Everybody's welcome to their own opinion man. This has literally 0 impact on me because it is just absolutely hilariously silly. I will always consider myself someone who is constantly learning as we all should if we want to continue to improve our craft and what we do. Not to mention I have never gone on someone else profile & tried to start drama. Its past me I am here to help people so I hope you got some satisfaction out of it, Because its not a good look.
Hey everybody, Have not been able to comment or message for the past like 3 days. Everything seems to be in working order now though!
EPISODE 8 - WEEK 2 FLOWER - www.youtube.com/watch
Today the seeds begin their soak for 24hrs in warm water before going into substrate ! Pictures coming later today I am also editing together the next 2 episodes. Soil prep, Nutrient overview & then the germination episode.
** ANNOUNCEMENT ** The seeds are finally soaking now for 24hrs befor going into substrate. I apologize to everyone for this crazy delay but from here on out we will be very busy! I have lots of footage from the past few days to shape into the next 2 episodes in the series and will be busy at work on that. This diary unfortunately got flagged for being abandoned but I am currently getting @growdiaries to help me solve this problem.
ANNOUNCEMENT.
Just a heads up for everyone. I have spoken with seedsman if their seeds do not arrive by may 9th i will be starting this series with autoflower genetics i already have.
This tutorial series is sponsored by seedsman and these strains where to be the star of the first tutorial installment to promote their amazing 420 sale. With that said they understand i can only wait so long due to their delay and they are okay with me starting up with other non seedsman strains due to this.
So whether the seedsman strains get here by then or not, May 9th is official germination date regardless.
Thank you to each and every one of you for your patience and understanding.
After quite a bit of extensive research from both myself & Sarah we have concluded it is 100% from the WALLAMMO. This product is awfully advertised as we have tested run off of pro mix / glacial rock dust / diatomaceous earth and it comes out relatively close to the 6.1 flush water. Add in WALLAMMO & it absolutely PLUMITS the run off PH. This is a huge concern now that we are this far into the grow I am for sure concerned it is very close to rearing its head on other plants. This could also be contributing to why they are growing so stalky and not growing up much at all. To try and finish this crop off decently I have decided to use a 7PH feed and hope that the wallammo does not drag it down beyond 5.7 lowest, It is really hard to know exactly how much is in each bag and how it is exactly affecting the mediums PH. Another absolutely awful aspect of how it is advertised. The product also has an incredible ability to retain moisture. It took 3 full pitchers of half gallon water to cause run off to even start to pour out & before that the grow bag swelled to nearly 20 pounds and almost ripped. This stuff has completely messed up my water cycle timings & I do believe is a large contributor to the strange growth patterns these plants are showing. I am VERY glad now that I left this product off any recommendation & in the beginning episode made it clear we where only testing it out. So I am going to go on record now
*** DO NOT USE WALLAMMO INDOORS **
So from here on out we will be trying to compensate with higher feed PH to make it through this series, But this will be another good lesson learned do not use unknown new products. This WALLAMMO stuff my wife & I saw in the back of a high times magazine and thought great it deals with PM, The add made it sound like 100% NUKED PM never showin up with wallammo in the soil, Then we order it ( Mind you it took 3-4 months to get here from flippin vancouver ) & the shady owner kept giving my wife the run around and really hilarious excuses. When we finally got it the package says " MAY deal with powdery mildew " rofl, & the package says to add generously will never burn your plants, Well we have proven that wrong. This is for sure a product to avoid until they refine its advertising & direction of what type of consumer to target it at.
I did not want to wait for this harvest to finish to post my review as I do not want people to copy this & make the same mistake.
@seedsman, Everything happens for a reason I truly believe that. THANK GOD your seeds where delayed and we had this first series as a trial run. WALLAMMO will not be part of any future series unless we get to a point of trying it outdoors which I do believe, In a guerilla style grow setup it would shine as a very useful product.
I know a lot of you are amazed at how rapidly these plants have grown but honestly they should be bigger & more filled out. This will still be a great series & capture the exact essense of what this company & channel is all about, Transparency and showing how to deal with issues that crop up, Not gloss over them. That does not help anybody except the growers own personal image.
@CroNiCGman, Thanks bro! I appreciate that & thank you for stopping in. Yes, Green planet & NPK, As well as Gaia Green I will always stand by. Wallammo, Not so much lmfao. I do actually think it is just terribly marketed and advertised. It would be great for guerilla growing.
@LegacyMarketFarm, nice scientific analysis, mastering different products and finding there true use is half the battle .. at least we can trust green planet nutrients 😃.. wallamo needs some angry(but stoned)reviews sent at them 😂 . Thanks legacy
Day 87 : Cheese XXL #1 WET WEIGHT 1.05LB = 16.8OZ WET
I am fairly happy with that number considering it was beginning to dry out quite a bit no longer intaking any water. I am going to guess it does anywhere from 1.7OZ - 2.5OZ depending on how much of the 80-90% moisture loss we experience. When we pull all the plants down we will be doing it on video recording each ones wet weight and hanging it so everybody can see & start cutting through all the people who inflate diaries here and on youtube.
** UPDATE **
May 6th 2022 - Almost 1 month later, Still no seeds here from seedsman, unfortunately. We will just have to use their genetics in the next round. As of Monday the 9th of May we will be starting up germinating the autoflower genetics I already have in stock from OAseeds.com, I want to take this time to apologize for this huge delay in getting this series started. I have done my due diligence giving seedsman plenty of time for their order to show however I can only wait so long. All you guys have been so patient and deserve to see this get underway so that is exactly what is happening.
This weekend I will be recording an episode of how to amend soil, What I will be amending the soil for these autoflowers with & reviewing the nutrient recipe we will be using, and then finally germinating these ladies! The strains we will be using are going to be as follows:
OASeeds :
Skunk auto x12
Cheese XXL auto x2
Northern lights auto x4
Fastbuds :
Wedding cheesecake ( Sent to me by 1Right_Angle here on grow diaries, Check him out and give him a follow!
As soon as I germinate the seeds on monday I will change the strain information within the diary its self. Again, Everyone I am sorry for how long this has taken but I wanted to be professional and give seedsman the chance to get their stuff here on time as we agreed upon. I am thankful to seedsman for being understanding however and allowing me to go ahead without strains from their catalog for this first tutorial series. So thank you for that seedsman & I look forward to growing yours next round!
@Loserofthemonth, Yeah I tried to tell them they needed to get them out sooner and to not bother waiting for them to fix the affilate shipping. Oh well lesson learned for all parties. We are underway now and that is all that matters! I appreciate every one of you guys and gal's being so patient with me I hope to make it worth the wait. Just updated the diary with some new photos. All the soil is amended and in the bags ready for germination on monday!
@LegacyMarketFarm, Hey I waited 9ver 3 months for Seedsman onetime but they were great and sent a replacement that arrived 2 days by before the original. Probably just sitting in customs all that time. I find a lot of the time their freebies are better than the Breeder packs I order thru them. Glad you got going. I could have helped if I had of thought about it. I gave away 56 autoflowering seeds to a friend last month mostly seedsman and FastBuds. Oh well I'm excited to see you do this. Go luck 🤞
IF you are new to this diary & new to following my profile, I ask you to please take the time & check out our youtube and subscribe. @northernMike, rofl laying in bed sick as shit thinking of price is right giving me flash backs to when i was a kid sick home from school sippin my tea watching the OG barker do his thing.
@LegacyMarketFarm, It's the closest without going over as old Bob would say😄, so I'll make mine a little more exact.
33 ounces right on the money😑..
Hope your feeling better!!!
Make sure you all subscribe to our youtube channel & check out all of the video's for this diary as well as the up coming chop down & video of all the plants being weighed wet hung whole. We will be showcasing the entire dry process & the trim / cure. When the bud is finished completely we will be doing a promo video show casing each strain's finished product along with the lab results for each strain from canvaslabs.ca
