July 22: culled the taller plant as it was showing male flowers. This might be due to light leaks with the force flowering as my blackout cover doesn’t exactly fit over the dome. Or just shit happens.
July 26: switched to gypsum as a calcium source. 500 g in 1000 L to get 100 mg/L calcium in solution.
July 28: Last night of force flowering as all plants are solidly flowering. Back to natural light cycle (currently 16 h).
July 31: added second round of Power Bloom and malt as top dressing. Started using soluble wood ash as a K source. See today’s Gorilla Gelato diary for details.
Oct 14: took most of plant in second round of 360 g wet for 606 g total so far.
Oct 17: took final round of 100 g for total of 706 g wet from one plant.
Favourite strain from this year. This plant was grown from seed and was just slightly different than the big manifolded Hash Bud plant. Very robust and pest resistant.
Hash Bud is a great strain that is very well suited to outdoor growing. It is a cross of the Cannabis Cup winning Canadian indica God Bud and Super Hash Plant so they could have called it God Hash or Super God Bud but they went for the more modest Hash Bud. The flower is excellent with nice solid buds and shouldn’t be overlooked because it’s a “hash plant”. Anyway, definitely an outstanding strain and would make a good commercial plant. See the Part 2 diary for the big Hash Bud manifold for other comments.
One of these two plants hermied during light deprivation but that is likely my fault as the blackout curtain was a bit too small and I was trying to cheat. The light leak likely caused the hermie. Excellent genetics from Quebec Cannabis Seeds and highly recommended.
