Everything is looking alot better than I thought it would all the trichomes appear milky so it's time to harvest. I've done a lot of close looking at the trichomes because it appears we're ready to harvest a little earlier than I predicted.

I read that in maximizing yield you trim off the lowest two set of branches. I am growing my plant horizontally to accumulate more budsites without the use of topping until I have the desired amount of branches. Is it safe to remove the lower two sets of branches?

There no relationship between removing the two lowest set of branch and maximizing yield. It's safe to remove them in any case but you want to wait a little bit more to see if they grow weak or strong.
In case they grow weak yeah it's a good idea to remove them but in case they grow strong you'll want to keep them.
